I tried to cook a fancy meal,
To show off all my chef-like zeal.
I grabbed a pan and lit the flame,
But things did not stay quite the same.
The onions started jumping high,
A piece of garlic hit my eye.
I tossed some salt, but missed the pot,
The kitchen floor received a lot.
The recipe said "stir with care,"
But soon there's gravy in my hair.
The smoke alarm began to scream,
It popped my culinary dream.
The chicken looked like charcoal briks,
I think the stove is playing tricks.
My cat walked in and took a sniff,
Then fainted from the spicy whiff.
I called for pizza, sad and beat,
And scraped the "dinner" off the seat.
Next time I'll stay away from fire,
And be a professional takeout buyer.
