The female school doctor's jaw suddenly stretched far wider than anything human anatomy should permit.
A wet, wrong sound rolled up from deep in her throat.
Pfft!
An emerald-green, cross-hatched tentacle burst violently from her mouth — slick with saliva, alive and coiling — snapping toward the nearest Black Spirit like a whip.
"It's out!"
"A green one — shaped like a cantaloupe!"
Rather than alarm, the Black Sperm lit up with the specific delight of creatures that have been handed something interesting.
"Ooooh!"
"New toy!"
"Grab it — pull it out!"
Hundreds of Black Sperm swarmed onto the exposed limb of Hierophant Green simultaneously — clamping on from every angle, pouring into the school doctor's open mouth along the tentacle, punching and kicking the protruding Stand limb with frantic, collective enthusiasm.
"ORA ORA ORA!"
"This thing feels like jelly!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Individually, each strike was unimpressive. Together, they were a relentless, unstoppable drumbeat of accumulated damage — hundreds of blows hammering into the exposed Stand limb, every hit transmitting directly back to its user.
At the exact moment the assault reached its peak —
"Ugh —!!"
A muffled groan of raw, suppressed pain leaked out from behind the white curtain drawn across the corner bed of the infirmary.
Faint. Brief. Almost swallowed entirely.
But Jotaro heard it instantly.
At the same moment, Hierophant Green's protruding tentacle stiffened — then went limp — before dissolving into scattered green motes of light.
The school doctor's body collapsed. Her eyes rolled back completely, and she went still.
"There!" Shintaro snapped, pointing toward the curtained bed. "Minions — surround it!"
Before the words were fully out of his mouth, Jotaro had already moved.
"Yare yare," he muttered, hat brim low. "You've got nowhere left to hide."
Swish.
He grabbed the curtain and tore it down without ceremony.
Crash.
The white fabric crumpled to the floor, and the figure behind it was revealed.
A slender boy in a long green school uniform stood against the wall, red bangs hanging over his eyes, one hand pressed to his mouth. Blood seeped steadily through his fingers — the internal damage from Hierophant Green's beating reflected directly back onto its user.
There was no mistaking him.
Noriaki Kakyoin.
He wiped the blood from his lips with the back of his hand. Green light condensed rapidly in his palm as energy gathered. His voice, when he spoke, was hoarse but steady.
"...Did you really think," he said, "that this means you've won?"
"Hierophant Green!"
The Stand erupted behind him — arms crossing, emerald energy accumulating in a gathering storm as it prepared the lethal Emerald Splash.
"Too slow."
Jotaro's voice was completely flat.
Before Kakyoin could even finish invoking the attack, a purple fist filled his entire field of vision — arriving faster than sound, faster than thought, faster than the name on his lips.
"There is only one reason you lost," Jotaro said, cold and certain. "You pissed me off."
THUMP —!!
Star Platinum's punch smashed into Hierophant Green's face with the force of a closing door. Kakyoin was launched backward like a thrown stone — crashing through the glass medicine cabinet, vanishing beneath a storm of shattered bottles and sliding debris before going still.
Silence fell.
"...W — what just happened?"
The two students who had been faking illness stared at the wreckage, then at Jotaro's expression — which had not changed at all — and their eyes quietly rolled back.
They fainted.
Shintaro exhaled slowly and raised one hand.
"Minions — return."
The Black Sperm dissolved into flowing black liquid instantly, retreating into his shadow and leaving behind nothing but a destroyed infirmary and several people on the floor.
Jotaro walked to the pile of wreckage, reached in without hesitation, grabbed Kakyoin by the collar, and hoisted him up with the particular lack of ceremony reserved for luggage.
"Let's go," he said. "We're done here."
"We can't stay at school after this," Shintaro agreed, picking up his jacket. "Teachers will be here any second."
Jotaro slung Kakyoin over his shoulder and jumped cleanly out the window.
First floor. No problem.
Shintaro followed without hesitation.
"Who did this?!"
"What happened in here?!"
Teachers flooded the infirmary moments later, staring at the devastation with completely blank expressions.
They got no answers.
"Hehe~"
Holly hummed to herself as she hung laundry in the courtyard, a private smile on her face.
"Jotaro must be in a jealous mood today. It's been so long since I've seen him react like that."
Then she noticed two figures approaching from the school road.
Jotaro — carrying an unconscious boy in a green uniform over one shoulder as if this were a perfectly normal thing to do on a Tuesday.
Behind him, Shintaro — jacket in hand, sleeve stained dark with blood.
Holly dropped the laundry and moved toward them before she'd consciously decided to.
"You're back already? And this is —" Her gaze went from the unconscious boy to Shintaro's arm. "Shintaro! Your hand —!"
"Where's the Old Man?" Jotaro cut in. "We need him now."
"He's in his room," Holly answered on instinct.
"My arm is fine, Aunt Holly," Shintaro said quickly. "I used Hamon to stabilize it, but we'll still need the medical kit. He's in bad shape." He tilted his chin toward the unconscious boy.
Holly was already moving. "I'll get it right now."
Jotaro headed for the living room. "Shintaro — call him."
"Got it."
As Shintaro turned toward the hallway, Holly's voice followed him, soft and quietly wistful.
"He was such a small boy once... and he grew up so fast."
Halfway down the corridor, Jotaro stopped.
He didn't turn around. A moment passed.
"...Is your body alright?" His voice was quiet. The words came out as if they had been waiting for a moment when he wasn't quite looking at anyone.
Holly blinked — then clasped her hands together, smiling brightly.
"Yes! I feel wonderful. Don't worry about me."
"...Mm."
Jotaro nodded once and kept walking.
Joseph stood over Kakyoin's unconscious form, his expression grave.
"We were attacked today," Jotaro said, without preamble. "We knocked him out and brought him back. Tell me what you can find."
Joseph studied Kakyoin for a long moment.
When he looked up, his voice was heavy.
"He's under DIO's control. If nothing is done, he'll be dead within a few days."
"Dead?" Shintaro echoed, carefully arranging his face into something appropriately surprised.
Jotaro's eyes sharpened.
"Controlled... by DIO?"
Joseph didn't answer immediately. He stepped closer to Kakyoin and placed his hand carefully above the boy's forehead.
"Come here," he said, urgency threading into his voice. "Both of you. I'll show you exactly why he attacked — and exactly what DIO's method of control looks like."
Joseph brushed aside Kakyoin's red bangs.
Beneath them —
A grotesque, pulsing lump of flesh writhed slowly beneath the skin, alive and purposeful.
"Nani?!"
Joseph's jaw was tight.
"This," he said, "is DIO's method of control."
"A Flesh Bud."
