Chapter 118 - Chapter 9: Aoko’s Word of God

Rin was currently sitting in a luxurious first-class seat, her eyes fixed ahead. She felt that if Aoko were sitting next to her, she would surely beat her into a mosaic, the kind that even the Fifth Magic couldn't save.

As for why, you only need to look at the gun barrel pointed at Rin's temple to know.

At this moment, a group of masked men, whose heads were covered by what looked like black felt hats with holes cut out, or perhaps stockings, or maybe even actual balaclavas, were each holding what might or might not be AK47s—Rin, not being a military enthusiast in her previous life, couldn't tell. In short, the plane Rin was on had been hijacked!

Rin was utterly speechless, not knowing how to complain. Damn it, couldn't we just land peacefully and play the game nicely? Why did you have to hijack this particular flight? You cause me trouble, and I'll make sure you all go down. Nobody wins. What's the point~?

Has the author become so bored that he has to force a plot in such a place, wasting time and space? I think I must act quickly to resolve this now. Delay will lead to complications; if I wait any longer, something big will definitely happen.

Rin shifted her gaze to the gun barrel pointed at her.

"I refuse to believe my speed is slower than his trigger finger."

Rin looked at the masked man for a moment, then said, "Brother, from the sound of your voices, you don't seem to be from around here, do you?"

The masked man was stunned. He thought, "I just came in and fired two warning shots telling you not to move, and you can tell I'm not from around here?" Before he could fully recover, a small hand pressed against his gun barrel, and a small dagger immediately followed, slitting his throat!

Actually, I was more inclined to punch his head off, but that would be too gruesome and might attract the attention of other thugs. If they noticed me and shot me, would I live or die?

In a situation where using Maguscraft was inconvenient, Rin wasn't so rigid as to use a Mana-formed dagger instead of a gun. After reassuring the other passengers not to make a sound, she retrieved two daggers and three magazines from the dead masked man. She picked up the dropped standard-issue automatic rifle and quietly approached the cockpit.

Damn it, I didn't expect to have to play the role of a secret agent.

As Rin carefully pressed herself against the cockpit door, cautiously listening for movement inside, she prepared to find an opportunity for a sudden attack. Rescuing the pilot first and seizing control of the plane's command center was key.

However, as Rin put her ear to the door to carefully listen for movement inside, a voice from the cockpit spoke a phrase that even the "language that communicates with all things" couldn't translate: "Allahu Akbar."

"..."

"You've got to be kidding me!" Rin was so startled she nearly lost her wits. She twisted the doorknob and kicked open the cockpit door. The first thing she saw was a pool of blood; it seemed the pilot was beyond saving. Immediately after, she saw a masked man holding a "Glorious Bomb" in one hand and making some unknown gesture with the other, but Rin knew the situation was dire!

You've got to be kidding me! The era is wrong! It's only 1990 now, did you guys travel through time?!

Even Rin's reaction speed was a beat too slow this time. As Rin raised her gun and pulled the trigger, the masked man also pressed the switch on the "Glorious Bomb."

Boom!!!

Rin instinctively activated Mana Burst. The outward Mana fluctuations blocked the direct force of the explosion, even protecting the cabin behind her, leaving it unharmed. But the entire cockpit—there was no cockpit left. Now, all Rin saw before her was a vast blue sky and white clouds.

At this moment, Rin couldn't help but recall Aoko's parting words from the previous chapter: "Stupid Rin, I wish you a plane crash! Go experience the thrill of falling from ten thousand meters!"

Damn you, author, is this foreshadowing!?

Even a High-ranking Magician couldn't resist the strong winds and currents at ten thousand meters. Rin was instantly swept into the air by the airflow! Mana Burst protected her body from being twisted into a ball by the turbulent air. She watched as the headless plane continued to fly forward in the sky, while Rin, well, she went to experience the thrill of falling from ten thousand meters.

"Aoko, if I ever see you again, I swear I'll beat you into a mosaic, ahhhhh!"

Unfortunately, no one could hear the roar above the clouds, and Earth's gravity wouldn't disappear just because you were angry at it.

If one were to free-fall from ten thousand meters, even a Dead Apostle Ancestor wouldn't survive it. Therefore, Rin wouldn't foolishly just fall like that.

When she estimated the ground was still several hundred meters away, Rin softly chanted, "My body is light, like a feather falling from the sky."

Feather Light Technique is a low-tier Maguscraft specifically used to prevent injury from falling from great heights. Its effect is simply to lighten one's body, allowing them to float to the ground like a feather.

Rin held the completed spell formula in her hand, ready but not cast. When she was about five meters from the ground, she instantly unleashed it.

"Gravity... adjustment... complete!"

Whoosh!

In that instant, Rin felt her body become as light as the wind, stopping her descent and even giving her the sensation of floating.

"Stop!"

After stopping the rapid descent, without any hesitation, Rin immediately regained her body's gravity. The entire process from becoming light to becoming heavy and then reaching the ground didn't take more than a second, but the before and after results were completely different. Without this less-than-a-second change, Rin would have fallen from ten thousand meters, certainly dead.

But with this one-second change, because of that momentary pause, Rin was essentially jumping from a height of three or four meters, which, given her current physique, was no problem at all.

Safely and smoothly landed. Thinking about Aoko's curse of falling from ten thousand meters and actually experiencing a ten-thousand-meter fall, Magus are indeed World-Truth Seers; this "Great Prophecy" is incredibly powerful.

Rin surveyed her landing spot, then looked at her surroundings. It seemed she was in a jungle.

Well, luggage and such must be gone. Thankfully, it only contained a few changes of clothes. Her visa, ID card, wallet, and Maguscraft pocket were all on her.

Although Rin ultimately survived, the more than 200 passengers, along with Rin's suitcase, surely embraced death. A passenger plane falling from ten thousand meters leaves absolutely no possibility of survival. Life, it seems, is that fragile.

Rin wasn't a sentimental person. After a brief silent tribute to the sky, she began to ponder the immediate problem before her. The first point was the primary and crucial issue!

How to solve lunch.
