Chapter 1 - THE BEGINNING

Azure eyes fluttered opened and light breached the darkness that once consumed the surrounding.

Inaudible whispers followed along the light, until it revealed two people hovering over something, or rather someone.

"Thank the gods your okay sweetie! I thought we lost you"

The tone of a women finally broke through the muffled whispers, her voice sweet like honey and soft to the ears.

Who was she talking too exactly?.

In front of her was a young boy, his skin a fair pale and cold to the touch. His hair a snow white and neck length with small bangs covering his forehead.

The young boy stared in confusion, his azure colored eyes blankly observing the two individuals who were surrounding him. His facial expression 'blank' and unmoving.

"Who are you?"

The young boy voiced his confusion, the tone of his voice a bit high pitched which revealed his youthful nature. It was clear the boy had no recollection of who, what, or where he was.

"It seems he's suffering from an extreme case of amnesia. I'm sorry to say this...but the son you once knew is no longer here."

Another voice spoke up, though this time it was more masculine with a deeper tone. It was rough and seemed to hold years of experience, yet it also held a subtle hint of pity.

The other two who surrounded the bed ridden boy had began crying in desperation, clutching the sheets of the bed with grief.

January 1st, 2028

It has been months since the young boy had been declared with amnesia.

The people who claimed to be his family members were helping him relearn everything he did not know, which was everything that did not include the basic human functionality.

Seigo Hoshi.

That was the young boy name, meaning the last star. He was told that the name was given to him by his late grandfather, who said he was the last hope of the family, like the last star in the sky.

"See you later mom!"

Seigo ecstatic voice proclaimed from the small home they resided in, the audible sound of the door closing and cutting off his farewell before a response could be made.

A subtle sigh escaped Seigo's mother, though it was was one of bliss and fruitfulness.

Some time later, Seigo arrived at a large building guarded by a massive metal gate which he stopped in front of.

With an exhale that expelled his nervousness, he read the bold letter sign on top of the academy which read; "Souhai Academy For The Extremely Gifted".

Noticing the gate was opening without warning, Seigo walked forward and made his way to the entrance of the building.

Flashback...

"Mrs. Hoshi, despite his amnesia he seems to have a very accelerated mind similar to photographic memory, I might even dare say it's superior. Was it like this before the incident?"

The doctor asked the women in front of him who seemed to be in deep thought at the question.

"No, which is very surprising to me. He honestly used to be so much into video games."

Seigo's mother replied in a soft spoken tone, earning a nod from the doctor who was seemingly documenting the explanation.

"It would appear that the incident not only allowed for accelerated mental development, but also the potential for magic due to the accelerated neurons firing into the cerebral cortex and the frontal & central cortex. It's honestly a once in a lifetime miracle."

The doctor stated in a summarized explanation, revealing X-rays and results from other instruments used to examine the brain functionality and performance.

This left Seigo's mother in awe at the mention of her son now being able to use magic, though what confused them both was the type of magic Seigo was capable of using, which did not seem to manifest as of yet.

Flashback Over...

After entering the building and being guided through the process of class selection, Seigo was eventually sent to a classroom with many who were like him in terms of late awakening.

With a gentle knock on the door and a confirmation of being able to enter, Seigo opened the wooden door and stepped into the classroom.

Immediately every student looked his way, some mesmerized by his appearance while others were jealous of it.

"Everyone, this is Seigo Hoshi and he will be joining the process of awakening. Please treat him with kindness and respect."

The teacher stated in a monotone voice, gesturing Seigo to go sit in any seat of his choosing.

It was clear that Seigo's appearance was unique amongst many in the academy itself. His well kept skin glowed with practical divinity and his ultra realistic azure colored eyes shone with an otherworldly glow, to the point it was hypnotizing if one kept staring. Lastly, his unkept snow white hair added on to his rich boy like appearance, earning the looks of many girls and the glare of many boys.

Despite this, Seigo kept his head held high and began walking to an empty seat in the back. He avoided most of the student gazes but he did glance around, which made many who forced eye contact to look away from his dazzling eyes.

30 Minutes Later...

It was now finally time for Seigo to undergo the awakening process, earning the stares of all the students within the classroom in anticipation.

Upon standing in front of a spherical crystal, Seigo placed his hand on top of it with an uneasy expression.

Nothing happened...until a blinding light suddenly expelled from the crystal and engulfed the entire room, even spilling out the window which made the other students from different classrooms stare in awe and confusion.

Then it finally dimmed until a symbol materialized on the back of Seigo's hand that held the crystal.

An infinity symbol which had a missing side open.

Upon seeing the symbol materialize on Seigo hand, the teacher gasped in shock with widened eyes and mouth agape.

"W-what is that?"

The teacher stammered out in confusion, his eyebrows furrowing in an attempt to understand the half complete infinity symbol.

On the other hand, Seigo remained paralyzed with eyes open yet unmoving. A stream of information flooded through his mind, some he understood and others he didn't.

He saw everything and unseen to the others, the very scenery around him changed to that of tunnel vision with multiple colors speeding past him in a relativistic effect.

Then Seigo finally blinked.

His vision restored and he found himself staring at his teacher, who still had a shocked expression on his face but it did not move, nor did the teacher himself.

Everything around Seigo was frozen, even the clock on the wall seemed to be at a standstill.

Until he noticed a person walk past the open door of the classroom, his azure eyes peering into a pair of golden ones which widened in subtle shock before vanishing.

Time resumed.

"Seigo. Come with me to the dean's office for a bit. Everyone else, now that you have gotten your magic type please choose your classes carefully. Dismissed."

The teacher exclaimed to the other's before urging Seigo to follow him, exiting the classroom and practically dragging Seigo to the dean office in a hurry.
