Chapter 6 - Elite

The person Salorian described as only knowing how to Charge blindly was now, as expected of his mentor's teachings, fighting with bloodshot eyes on the battlefield.

"Hah!"

A heavy, powerful vertical slash from a greatsword shattered the wooden shield of an Amani Shield Guard.

Ael'tharion's two-handed greatsword wasn't a famous weapon, but it was a graduation gift from his mentor.

The blade was forged from fine iron, its surface etched with strange patterns—the marks of enchantment.

Under the enhancement of the 'Sharpness' enchantment, the sturdy troll shield was easily split open. Caught off guard, the troll guard was cleaved in half by the residual force of the strike.

If the bullet chat had harbored doubts about Ael'tharion's words before, witnessing this brutal battle firsthand finally convinced them that they were observing the real Azeroth.

Having killed his first enemy, Ael'tharion didn't have time to wipe the blood splattered on his face.

He pulled back his greatsword slightly, rage exploding beneath his feet as he lowered his angular shoulder guards and activated his Charge skill.

"Boom!"

The massive impact, carrying both kinetic energy and body weight, sent another shield-bearing troll guard stumbling back two steps. His perfect defensive stance crumbled, and his shield was knocked out of position.

"Slash!"

Taking advantage of the enemy's broken posture, Ael'tharion swung his greatsword horizontally from his side, knocking away the now-unsteady wooden shield.

A fresh head rolled to the ground, accompanied by a spray of blood.

"Where's that Berserk Headhunter who ambushed me! Get out here!"

His murderous gaze swept across the battlefield, and the bullet chat were startled by Ael'tharion's bloodthirsty and sharp eyes.

Living in a peaceful era, they had never seen such intense killing intent or such a realistic and bloody battlefield.

Having easily repelled the troll night raid, Halduron's furrowed brows did not relax.

Ael'tharion withdrew from the battlefield, carrying his dripping greatsword with dissatisfaction; he had ultimately failed to find the little thief who had ambushed him earlier.

He moved his shoulder slightly, somewhat surprised by the healing speed of his fracture.

'Is that talent skill called Rapid Healing at work? The injury is recovering much faster than expected.'

This small-scale battle allowed Ael'tharion to become further acquainted with the system's functions.

When he slew the first troll, the system had prompted a question in his mind.

"Troll Shield Guard killed. Allocate gained experience to the default primary combat class (Warrior)?"

At the time, Ael'tharion was caught up in the heat of battle and ignored the system's inquiry. He only found time to check it after the fight ended.

Above the Level 11 Warrior entry, there was a sub-category called the Experience Bar.

The specific numerical value of the experience bar wasn't shown, only an intuitive percentage.

A total of 8 trolls had died by Ael'tharion's greatsword. He roughly calculated that each troll provided experience fluctuating between 8% and 12%.

Combined with his existing experience, the 8 trolls allowed Ael'tharion's Warrior level to successfully reach Level 12.

The moment he leveled up, he could clearly feel all his physical attributes rise slightly. The greatest increase was in Strength, the primary attribute for Warriors.

The bullet chat speculated that experience gains would vary depending on the strength of the enemy killed.

If he could defeat an enemy with an Elite Template while at his current low level of just over 10, it wouldn't be impossible to gain a whole level at once.

However, enemies with Elite Templates weren't that easy to encounter, and even if he did, Ael'tharion might not necessarily win with his current strength.

While using Eagle Eye earlier, Ael'tharion had unexpectedly discovered a detail.

After officially activating the system, his Eagle Eye had gained more functions compared to before, allowing him to observe templated information provided by the system.

Character: Amani Shield Guard

Status: Heavily Wounded (Regenerating), Dejected

Class: Level 8 Warrior (Protection Specialization), Level 3 Headhunter

Talents:???

Skills:???

This was the status panel of one of the troll grunts captured by the High Elves.

The other captives' information was much the same, with only levels and statuses differing; their talents and skills were likewise invisible.

Following the suggestion of the bullet chat, Ael'tharion activated Eagle Eye and looked at the frowning, pensive Halduron.

"Hmm?!"

Halduron suddenly felt a chilling sensation of being watched and immediately turned his head, responding with a sharp gaze.

After seeing the source of the gaze, Halduron was visibly stunned for a moment.

"Ael'tharion? Why are you looking at me like that?"

Ael'tharion's eyes shifted slightly as he adopted a line of reasoning suggested by one of the bullet chat.

"I have an important piece of intelligence to tell you."

"Halduron, I suspect the trolls have changed their strategy. Their main force is no longer here."

"Oh?"

Halduron's brow quirked, pushing aside the slight sense of oddness from before.

"Tell me in detail. Is the source reliable?"

After learning from Ael'tharion that the Amani trolls had likely followed the main road carved out by the orcs and headed north, Halduron fell into a long period of contemplation.

Ael'tharion took this opportunity to slip away and check the panel he had seen on Halduron.

Character: Halduron Brightwing

Race: High Elf

Status: Solemn, Hesitant

Class: Level 47 Ranger (Elite Template), Level 21 Rogue, Level 5 Arcanist

Talents: Arcane Affinity, Swift as the Wind, Never Miss, Child of the Forest (Pseudo)

Skills: Arcane Shot, Aimed Shot, Ranger Traps (Click to expand), Camouflage, Raptor Strike, Dual-Wield Parry, Hunter's Mark, Aspect of the Ranger (Omitted below)

Ah… this.

As expected from a veteran Ranger, this panel is impressive.

I didn't realize, but Ranger Lord Halduron has some Arcanist experience—even if only Level 5.

Level 5 is just a basic introduction; he hasn't explored it deeply.

Rangers have abilities like Arcane Shot, and High Elves naturally have Arcane Affinity.

So it makes sense he'd have at least a little arcane understanding.

Halduron's skill panel was so long that Ael'tharion was too lazy to look through them one by one.

In short, there were many, including Traps and Ranger Aspects, many of which had sub-categories.

According to the common knowledge provided by the system, a primary combat class needed to reach Level 30 to be rated as an Elite Template, and Level 50 or above would grant the even rarer Legendary Template.

"Observing friendly units reveals more information. Does this mean the panel content Eagle Eye can view is related to Favorability?"

IS THIS A DATING SIM?? 😭💀 HAVE TO FARM FAVORABILITY JUST TO SEE ONE PANEL??

WHO TOLD YOU TO STARE AT EVERYONE??? 👀

…TRUE 😭💀 HE WOULD PROBABLY BLOW THE WHOLE FOREST UP

THIS MAN IS LITERALLY A WALKING TACTICAL NUCLEAR OPTION

Ael'tharion remained very indifferent to the teasing from the bullet chat.

Separated by the dimensional barrier between different worlds, he and the bullet chat could only communicate remotely through the system.

What else could he do besides stay calm? Cross between worlds to grab the person who sent the teasing comment and beat them up?

Just thinking about it made him realize it was unrealistic.

While Ael'tharion and the bullet chat were discussing the various functions granted by the system, the long-hesitant Halduron finally made up his mind.

"Ael'tharion, I have an important mission to entrust to you."

Halduron's expression was exceptionally serious as he placed his hands heavily on Ael'tharion's shoulders.

"I will assign the fastest Hawkstrider to you. Ride to Suncrown Village as quickly as possible and establish contact with Vereesa."

"Only with further reliable intelligence can I confidently formulate our next plan."
