Chapter 5 - Chapter 005

Mason sat in the nearest chair. Alvida noticed that Mason wasn't speaking, so she thought for a moment.

"First, we need to get some money."

"?"

"My treasures and food were all taken by those detestable people, and as you can see, the kitchen only has a few rotten fruits and some nearly spoiled meat left."

Mason nodded; he had also renovated the kitchen, and indeed, as Alvida said, there was nothing edible left.

"If possible, I plan to meet the Straw Hat."

"?"

"Don't get me wrong, after all, he's the one who defeated me, so it's only natural to want to fight back, isn't it?"

Alvida's eyes were filled with a fierce determination.

This surprised Mason a little. He remembered that in the original story, after Alvida was punched by Luffy, she worked with Buggy and boldly declared in Loguetown that Luffy would become her man, threatening to kill him if he refused.

Why was she now so eager for battle? Mason pondered this, then nodded. He really didn't know what to do at this point; he had come to this Pirate King world with no preparation. Competing for the Great Treasure?

Becoming the next Pirate King, or joining the Revolutionary Army to overthrow the Celestial Dragon? Or becoming a Marine and fighting against pirates? Honestly, he didn't have a strong sense of reality about any of this.

It all seemed very far away from him. However, he still wanted to meet Luffy, not just to see the protagonist of this world, but also to see his savior. Seeing Mason agree so easily shocked Alvida.

"You don't plan on doing anything?"

"Hmm... if I had to say, maybe go to the dock and buy some fried potatoes?"

"???"

Alvida was a bit confused.

"You..."

"Alright, alright, we'll set off tomorrow to chase the Straw Hat."

"About that, can we wait a bit?"

"What's up?"

"Nothing, just planning to deal with some traitors."

Mason understood, then nodded:

"You know where they're going?"

"I have a rough idea. Besides, our food reserves are only enough to reach one place, so they must be there." Mason showed an OK sign. That night, the two of them went to their respective rooms. Mason lay in bed, looking out the window.

The moonlight hung high, its glow spilling onto the wooden floor. "I've transmigrated to the Pirate King world, huh." After sighing, he closed his eyes, countless thoughts echoing in his mind. Eventually, he fell asleep.

The next day, accompanied by the sound of waves. Mason woke up. Alvida had already set sail.

"Get up?"

"Set off early?"

"Afraid those detestable people will run away if we wait too long."

Mason came to the bow of the ship, gazing out at the endless sea. At first, he was very pleased, but as time passed, the calm sea became extremely boring.

"No wonder Luffy got so excited when he saw an island. If only I could play computer games now." Alvida walked out of the kitchen. She brought out sliced fruits and some simply prepared food.

"Let's have a simple meal."

Mason took a fruit and took two bites; his legs didn't even twitch. But soon, a whole plate of fruit was completely eaten. As Mason looked at the fruit core in his hand, a strange idea came to him.

He got up and went to the storage room, took out some soil, and came to the deck. Alvida watched his actions. Then she saw Mason digging a hole in the deck and putting the soil into it. Finally, he took out the fruit core and stared at it blankly.

"What's up?"

Mason didn't answer. Instead, he took out a shovel and tapped it into the soil. The soil sank, and accompanied by the wave of Mason's hand, an icon like a seed appeared in the tilled soil.

"This really works!"

Thinking of this, Mason immediately ran to the tool storage room. Not long after, he took out a bucket. Then he was seen standing blankly by the side of the ship. "?"

Next, Mason lowered a rope ladder.

He went down on his own and took up a bucket of water. "Irrigating with seawater?"

Although Alvida wasn't a farmer, she knew that seawater couldn't be used for irrigation.

When Mason returned to the deck, Alvida didn't say anything, just watching quietly. Mason dug another hole in the deck. He placed a block below it and then poured seawater into the empty hole. Naturally, the small bucket couldn't fill the 1x1 space.

But something magical happened. Despite the lack of water, the tilled soil became moist. Seeing this, Mason nodded. "This really has an effect."

Although ordinary tools couldn't be turned into Minecraft tools, some characteristics could be utilized. Seeds could be planted in tilled soil, and the tilled soil would become moist as long as there was water nearby.

It didn't matter if it was Minecraft water or not, as long as it was water. After some thought, Mason covered the insufficient water with a half slab, and on the surface, no water was visible. "What a pity, I don't have any bone meal. I could make a composter, but there are no leaves. Wait, it doesn't have to be leaves."

"Alvida, where did you put the kitchen scraps?"

"In the kitchen trash." Mason rushed to the kitchen, and Alvida followed curiously.

Then, she saw Mason start his operation, directly flipping the trash can into a square bucket. Next, something magical happened. The square bucket emitted a green light, and soon, a white, tangled object appeared.

"This really works!"

"Alvida, stretch out your hand and throw all the rotten or inedible items here."

Under their busy efforts, Mason now had ten bone meal in his hand. "What's this? Can it be eaten?"Alvida looked at it with curiosity.

"Follow me, and I'll show you the power of bone meal."

When they arrived at the deck, they were both astonished. A perfect, square tree stood out on the deck. "This..."Alvida was a bit confused. Mason, however, was not surprised.

The growth cycle of Minecraft trees was very strange; they might take three or four days to grow, or they might appear a few moments after being placed.

Mason walked directly to the tree, his eyes fixed on the wood. 'Chachacha Fruit Tree' He took out his axe and cut it down completely. The leaves began to wither, and a Chachacha Fruit Tree sapling fell to the ground.

At the same time, after the leaves withered, the Chachacha Fruit also fell to the ground. He harvested two Chachacha Fruits. Mason took out the Chachacha Fruit and threw it to Alvida.

As she saw the plump fruit in her hand, she had seen it all, and her eyes were full of disbelief. She took two bites; it was indeed Chachacha Fruit, very crunchy and delicious. The surprise hadn't ended.

Mason planted the sapling, and soon after he used the first bone meal, the Chachacha Fruit Tree grew instantly. This shocked Mason. He continued to repeat the process. The leaves withered, and the Chachacha Fruit fell.

This continued until Mason ran out of bone meal. Only then did he stop. "Your abilities are really practical. With this, we won't be lacking in fruit in the future."

Alvida looked at a basket full of Chachacha Fruits.

Each one was plump and round, almost identical in appearance. And miraculously, these fruits were seedless; they only contained abundant pulp. Moreover, they were very filling; eating just one made her feel full.

"What a pity I don't have shears; if I did, I could achieve perpetual motion. What a pity."

Mason sighed. At this moment, Alvida stood up and went to the bow of the ship.

"What's going on?"

"Hahahahaha, those cursed people, I've finally caught up with them!"
