After Allen left the dojo, he used Psychokinesis to fly towards City A.
An hour later, Allen arrived in front of the Hero Association Headquarters building. The setting sun dyed the colossal tower golden, and its surface reflected dazzling light.
"Mr. Allen." A female staff member in a business suit walked over quickly.
"Please follow me. Chairman Sitch of the Disaster Language Countermeasures Committee is waiting for you on the top floor."
Allen followed the staff member into the elevator to the top floor. When he pushed open the office door, Chairman Sitch was standing with his back to him, facing the floor-to-ceiling window.
"You're here?" Sitch turned around, adjusted his glasses, and gestured for him to come in.
"Please have a seat."
Allen sat down on the black leather sofa, noticing a file labeled "Top Secret" already placed on the table in front of him.
"Just recently, an abnormal energy fluctuation appeared on the outskirts of Z City. You must have felt it too, right?" Sitch said directly, his expression serious.
Abnormal energy fluctuation? He felt it too? Allen was full of questions internally, but outwardly, he nodded calmly.
"According to our detection, this energy has reached the standard of a Dragon-Level disaster. We suspect it might be the work of the Monster Association."
"So, the Association invited you here this time, hoping you could go to the No Mans Land in Z City to investigate." Sitch's expression was grave.
With that, he pushed the file towards Allen: "Considering the danger level, the Association will arrange another S-Class Hero to partner with you."
"These are all the materials we have collected so far. You can take a look."
Monster Association! Allen was excited. He might be able to use this opportunity to join the Monster Association, which had many abilities he coveted.
However, a partner would only be a hindrance to him.
Allen did not open the file but instead looked at Sitch: "Just send me the location, and I'll take care of it."
Sitch frowned: "This is not a game. A Dragon-Level disaster is incredibly dangerous and cannot be handled by one person."
"You must follow procedures."
Allen nodded, but in his mind, he was planning how to knock out his partner and act alone.
As long as it wasn't a difficult S-Class Hero like Tornado or Flashy Flash, it would be fine.
At the same time, in the Hero Association's main control room, dozens of holographic screens floated in the air, flashing various monitoring data.
"How is the progress of arranging investigators for the No Mans Land commission?" a black-haired man asked in a deep voice.
"Ghost Town?" A female operator pulled up the information.
"A formal commission has been issued. S-Class Hero Allen has arrived at the Association and is talking with Chairman Sitch. Another candidate is still under consideration."
"Good." The black-haired man breathed a sigh of relief.
His name was Okamoto, Hero Association employee No. 001, and also the most experienced operator, responsible for dealing with difficult S-Class Heroes. The fact that that little ancestor hadn't come to the Association building recently had made his life much easier.
"What interesting things are you talking about?" A relatively childish female voice suddenly came, startling the operators present.
A petite figure was floating in mid-air, her emerald green curly hair moving without wind, surrounded by a light green energy field.
"What investigation mission? Why don't I go too?" The young girl leaned on the control panel, asking with some curiosity.
"Tornado! Miss Tornado!" Okamoto, who had just breathed a sigh of relief, instantly had his forehead covered in fine beads of sweat. He was holding onto the armrests of his chair, ready to stand up at any moment.
This second-ranked S-Class Hero, Tornado of Terror, was precisely the "little ancestor" he least wanted to encounter.
"When did you arrive?" Okamoto forced a smile and greeted her.
"What, I can't be here?" Tornado floated in the air, her green curly hair moving without wind. She stood with her hands on her hips, looking somewhat displeased at the staff in the main control room.
"No, we are just going to the No Mans Land in Z City under the guise of an investigation, no need for you to trouble yourself." Okamoto was sweating profusely. Why did this temperamental little ancestor suddenly show up?
"What, you're not happy even if I go?" Tornado's eyes turned dangerous, her green curly hair fluttered slightly, and objects around her began to float as Tornado's mood changed.
As Okamoto watched the angry Tornado, a plan suddenly formed in his mind. Wasn't the investigation plan regarding the suspected Monster Association still missing one person?
With Tornado's terrifying strength, even if the two encountered any emergency, Tornado could protect Allen and evacuate, so they wouldn't have to worry about an excellent Rookie like Allen being lost due to this dangerous mission.
Furthermore, Allen's reputation was quite good among veteran Heroes like Snake and Bang, indicating that Allen should be a kind and easy-going Hero.
Wouldn't that be perfect for appeasing this little ancestor, Tornado? These two working together on an investigation mission would be absolutely perfect!
"No, Miss Tornado, we are just worried about your safety," Okamoto quickly interjected. With his rich experience, he knew how to deal with Heroes with difficult personalities.
"Although, this mission indeed requires a strong individual like Miss Tornado to oversee it." He deliberately showed a troubled expression.
Tornado snorted, but her expression had softened considerably. The green light around her began to dissipate, and the objects floating in the air fell back down.
She floated in the air, arms crossed, looking down at Okamoto from above: "What danger could there be in a mere investigation mission? Do I still need you to worry about me? Let me see!"
Plan successful!
Okamoto was excited internally, but on the surface, he still pretended to hesitate, his eyes occasionally glancing at the paper report on the table.
Tornado noticed Okamoto's small movements and found it amusing. Did he really think such clumsy little tricks could hide anything from her?
She used Psychokinesis to bring the paper report in front of her.
"Eh!" Okamoto pretended to be anxious and reached out, wanting to retrieve the paper report, but in reality, he was too lazy to even stand up.
Tornado glanced at the report's contents and pouted: "Hmph, a mere investigation mission in Z City's No Mans Land, I can handle it alone."
Okamoto quickly waved his hand: "Miss Tornado, this mission has already been assigned to the newly promoted S-Class Hero Allen, you still..."
"Shut up!" Tornado interrupted him impatiently.
"I can complete the investigation mission faster by myself, what do I need that Rookie for?"
"How can a newly promoted S-Class Hero complete this kind of mission? It says suspected Dragon-Level disaster here. Do you want him to go to his death?!" Tornado was somewhat displeased.
"A mere Dragon-Level disaster, I'm enough by myself." She quickly scanned the document and snorted disdainfully.
Okamoto wiped the sweat from his forehead and carefully explained: "Miss Tornado, you are right, with Allen's strength, it might not be easy to complete this investigation mission.
"But the situation in No Mans Land is quite special."
He pointed to the map in the report: "This area has been abandoned for over a year, and the underground pipe system is complex, with many entrances buried by ruins."
"But Allen has lived in No Mans Land for a long time and is very familiar with the terrain there. Only he is suitable for this mission."
Tornado impatiently floated in a circle: "So?"
"So, considering safety issues, the Association needs to send a powerful S-Class Hero to partner with him. I hope Miss Tornado can cooperate with Allen to complete this investigation mission," Okamoto continued to explain.
"He can guide you and save time searching for locations, while your powerful Psychokinesis can easily clear obstacles, making the investigation work twice as efficient."
Tornado pouted, her green curly hair fluttering slightly: "Hmph, so that Rookie is just a guide?"
"You could say that." Okamoto breathed a sigh of relief, observing Tornado's expression, then added.
"Of course, the main part of the mission will still be completed by Miss Tornado; Allen is just assisting."
"After all, your time is precious, and the Association doesn't want you to waste it on finding your way," Okamoto continued to persuade.
Tornado thought for a moment and finally nodded reluctantly: "Alright, I'll grudgingly take that Rookie with me."
"But if he holds me back, I won't wait for him."
"Of course!" Okamoto quickly agreed.
"Allen is currently talking with Chairman Sitch. I'll take you over there now."
