Chapter 150 - Chapter 150: Khorne! Your Greater Daemon Is Gone!

"So this is the world of Warhammer 40,000?"

"I got in pretty easily..."

"But why does it feel a little different from the Warhammer 40,000 I imagined?"

Endless energy exploded through the infinite void. Energy clashed against energy without pause. This was a world that drove all life to despair, the cradle of countless emotions.

And now, within that cradle, a gigantic existence like a black hole suddenly appeared without warning and began greedily absorbing all the energy around it.

It was not doing so deliberately. It was more like instinct, the same way humans breathe and eat. The black hole-like being devouring nearby energy was just as natural to it as breathing was to a person.

"Ah..."

"No!!!"

"My lord, save me..."

One after another, those phantom-like energy forms wailed in agony. They tried to get away from the black hole, but no matter how much they screamed, cried, or struggled, it was all useless. Nothing they did could stop that black existence from feeding on them.

"It feels like energy is getting pulled in. That's strange..."

At that moment, inside the black existence, a consciousness was talking to itself.

"Don't you think what you're doing is a little excessive?"

Just as the black existence continued devouring every bit of energy around it without discrimination, a low, slightly hoarse but gentle voice echoed directly into its mind.

"Hm?!"

The moment the black existence heard that voice, its consciousness spread outward, and it finally saw the one who had spoken.

It was an elderly man with graying hair and a deeply aged face, yet there was still something kind and grandfatherly about him. He sat in a perfectly ordinary old rocking chair, looking at the black existence with warm, gentle eyes.

"And you are?"

The black existence looked at the old man and felt confused, unable to identify him at all.

"Heh..."

"You can see me, and you still don't know who I am?"

The old man just smiled lightly and kept gazing at the black existence with that benevolent face.

"Father?!"

Hearing the old man's voice, the chaotic and unfathomable black consciousness suddenly found the word father surfacing in its mind, as if the old man before it really were as kind and reassuring as a father.

"Wait..."

The moment that thought formed, the black existence sensed something off. The image of father in its mind instantly collapsed. No. Impossible. Its father could never have been this gentle.

"Tch."

The old man, who had seemed so kind only a moment ago, immediately grew irritated when he saw the shift in the black existence. Then his face became even more decayed, his body broke out in sores, and his flesh wasted away until bone showed through in places. Even though that same kindly expression remained on his face, paired with his revolting appearance, it only made him all the more disturbing.

"Looks like you really are getting old."

Just as the old man in green robes turned into an embodiment of endless corruption, a syrupy, spine-tingling voice suddenly rang out through the infinite chaos.

A breathtaking beauty wrapped in translucent silk appeared in the space. One arm was folded beneath her chest, while the other lightly supported her chin. The gauzy fabric on her body was so thin and delicate that if one looked too closely, the alluring curves beneath it could be seen through the veil.

And while the black existence was examining her, she was examining it too.

"What a magnificent specimen..."

The beauty looked at that vast black form and ran her pink tongue slowly across the corner of her lips.

"Haha..."

"I thought there were only the few of us left in this place. I never expected a newcomer to arrive."

"Well hello there, traveler from beyond the wall. Want to be friends?"

The third to appear was a pale-faced scholar with refined, handsome features. He smiled as he offered the black consciousness his warmest greeting.

"You killed one of my Greater Daemons. How are you going to pay me back?"

Before the scholar could finish his friendly overture, the entire space erupted into a blood-red storm. The figure had not yet arrived, but its domineering voice was already shaking everyone's minds.

"Haha, the most troublesome one is here."

At some point, a folding fan had appeared in the scholar's hand. He called the newcomer troublesome, but his eyes carried a trace of amusement, as though he was genuinely looking forward to how this little show would unfold.

Boom!

With a thunderous roar, the energy-filled space was swept clean. Countless corrupted planets and disembodied minds were crushed down into pure energy, and out of that energy emerged a sovereign seated on high.

His skin was crimson red. A crown sat upon his head. Beneath him was a throne made from endless bones.

"Newcomer, aren't you going to give me an explanation?"

"Or are you planning to fight me right here?"

The king's eyes locked onto the endless black mist in front of him as he barked the question in fury, making no effort whatsoever to hide his displeasure.

...

"I see now."

By the time the king was running out of patience, the black consciousness finally understood what was happening.

It had indeed entered the world of Warhammer 40,000, but not fully.

Its target had been the material universe of Warhammer 40,000, yet it had failed to get in. Some force had stopped it outside the material universe, and beyond that barrier was a vast network made of endless energy.

And right now, the black consciousness was inside that network.

"So I got blocked out. This is the Warp?!"

Once it realized where it was, the black consciousness could only feel speechless.

In the next moment, the black consciousness suddenly condensed into the form of a young man wearing a white-and-gold robe, standing before the old man, the beauty, the strategist, and the king.

"Gluttony. You reject no power at all and devour everything in the world..."

"I can allow you to remain in this place, but you must not harm my children anymore."

Once the young man appeared, the old man finally spoke. He seemed to have discerned something and tacitly accepted the young man's existence.

"How interesting..."

"Since you've appeared in this universe, then I can only assume this universe truly needed your arrival. In that case, I have nothing to object to..."

"I won't interfere in what you do. Even if you devour everything, that's your business. However..."

The strategist looked at the young man as though thinking, or perhaps scheming.

"New guy, having fun?"

Compared to the old man's warning and the strategist's cryptic phrasing, the beautiful woman only offered six simple words. She looked exactly like someone desperate for attention who had just run into the person they liked and immediately went up to ask for their number.

"New guy, fight me."

Compared to the woman's six words, the muscular ruler on the bone throne was even more direct. He only had five words for the young man.

"Disease-ridden asshole trying to infect everyone else, chaos-stirring lunatic, bitch, and filthy dumb fuck."

Without saying any of it out loud, the alien dark god invading this universe had already labeled all four of them in its mind.

"Tell me how to get to the material universe."

The young man ignored the dumb fuck's invitation to fight and instead asked the beautiful woman for directions.

Because he knew there was absolutely no point in fighting that dumb fuck. Battle, destruction, slaughter, none of it would damage that idiot. It would only make him stronger.

"You..."

The brute of a ruler had not expected to be ignored, and his anger deepened.

"With our scale, we can't enter the material universe at all. Leaving aside the fact that the universe itself doesn't have enough energy to give us physical form, the one sitting on the toilet, I mean the one blocking the Webway with his body, wouldn't let us in anyway. Besides, what do you even want in the material universe? Why not stay here and have some fun with me instead?"

The beautiful woman struck an enticing pose, clearly trying to seduce the young man.

"You could never understand my resolve."

The young man looked deeply at all four of them, then vanished from that unreal space, apparently searching for a way to force his way into the material universe.

"You think you can run?!"

The burly man seated upon the blood-red throne glared at the young man who clearly had no intention of dealing with any of them. Fury blazed across his face as a massive greatsword wreathed in red flames appeared in his hand with a wave.

"Once I kill this newcomer, I'll come back and kill the three of you too."

The brute shot a vicious glare at the old man, the strategist, and the beautiful woman, but especially at the beautiful woman, who irritated him more than the others. In fact, among everyone present, the person he hated second most was her, right after the newcomer.

"What a stupid creature..."

The beautiful woman glared back viciously at the raging warlord. If she were capable of beating that idiot, she would have devoured him long ago.

"Heh, he really isn't bright."

The strategist looked at the blood-red giant, then at the others. He wasn't singling anyone out. He simply thought everyone but himself was a moron.

...

"What's the point of war? We should have love in our hearts..."

The kindly old man covered in disease looked at the brute who had started another conflict and sighed helplessly. What was the point of war? It only created more death and suffering, nothing but devastation in the end. In his mind, their existence was meant for something more than slaughter. Love should matter far more than killing.

"Hmph."

The beautiful woman snorted softly. Yes, there should be love, and she was full of it, especially the kind she made herself.

As the young man and the brute disappeared into the distance, the "old man," the "beauty," and the "strategist" dissolved into three impossible, unseeable abnormalities and vanished from that half-real, half-imagined space.

"Is running all you know how to do?"

The brute chased after the young man relentlessly, sword in one hand and axe in the other.

"Heh..."

The young man glanced back at him with a cold smile.

He kept running.

And he kept eating.

He avoided the servants of the other beings and focused exclusively on devouring the red one's followers.

"You..."

The brute could clearly feel it. Every time one of his servants was devoured, the amount of war in that world diminished just a little, and his own strength weakened just a little along with it. The change was slight, but it was real.

"You've been around for tens of years now. As a mature god, you really should learn to accept things..."

The young man never fought back. He just kept eating. What could the other guy even do about it?

"I'm going to ruin you!"

The brute kept chasing. The young man kept fleeing. It turned into an absurdly long pursuit, and no one knew just how long those two ran.

Then there came a waterfall so vast it surpassed human imagination. What poured down from it was not clear water but endless blood.

This was the cycle-place of Khorne's chosen.

This was Khorne's domain, a forbidden zone of life itself.

And yet, within that forbidden place, there stood a man in gray armor, with a golden symbol upon his chest representing endless glory.

"You think there's any chance of escaping after coming here?"

Standing across from the gray-armored man was a being whose very appearance would fill any human with terror. It was one of Khorne's Greater Daemons, a mighty Bloodthirster, and at that moment it roared at the human warrior before it.

"Not only am I going to survive, I'm going to spill your blood into this sea!"

Facing the Greater Daemon's provocation, the Grey Knight remained calm and composed. He was the pride of the great Emperor, and he could not permit himself to do anything that might tarnish the Emperor's honor.

"Heh..."

"Even after forty millennia, the only blood left here will still be the blood of my enemies..."

The Greater Daemon laughed, and its hideous face inspired instinctive fear.

The instant the Grey Knight drew his personal blade, war stood on the brink of eruption.

Boom!

Just as the knight and daemon were about to begin their final clash, a thunderous explosion erupted from the depths of space.

"Hm?!"

Both the Greater Daemon and the knight froze.

Far off on the endless horizon, a dark god covered in countless black mouths suddenly appeared, and behind that god was another great being wreathed in blood-red power.

The two godlike entities were racing through the realm at full speed. As they passed, entire stretches of space collapsed and shattered.

"The Lord of Skulls?"

The Greater Daemon's eyes widened as it looked at those two mighty beings. What was it seeing? The Blood God, whom none of them had been able to contact, had actually returned to this domain.

"Great Blood God, allow me to offer you the holiest of performances!"

The daemon knew this was its moment. If it succeeded today, it could replace that little bitch and become the Blood God's number one Greater Daemon.

"So that's one of those damned heretical dark gods?"

The knight in gray armor stared at the figure that pushed his sanity toward the edge and silently recited the Emperor's holy glory in his heart. He was a son of the Emperor of Mankind. He would not fear any heretical dark god.

"Come then, hound of the false Emperor, here and now I will..."

The Greater Daemon laughed wildly, raising its massive blade as it prepared to strike down the false Emperor's dog.

"You're one of that dumb fuck behind me's Greater Daemons, right?"

Just as the daemon was laughing, the black figure being chased abruptly appeared before it and casually asked the question.

"Uh..."

The interrupted daemon stared blankly at the being before it. It knew this had to be one of the great gods of this realm.

The problem was, which one?

It had no idea there was a fifth god in this place.

Smack.

Before the daemon could say another word, the being grabbed it in one hand and swallowed it whole.

"You're still chasing me, dumb fuck?! How long has it been now? Aren't you tired of this? Your Greater Daemon is gone!"

In the next instant, countless arms emerged from the black being's body and all of them simultaneously flipped the universal sign of disrespect at the existence behind it.

!!!

Standing right beside the black figure, the Grey Knight felt his pupils shake as he watched what had just happened.

What the fuck was this situation?

"Newcomer!!!"

A furious roar tore across this realm of ultimate imagination.

It was the endless wrath of the Blood God, shaking the entire Warp with its rage.

He swore that he would utterly destroy the evil being that had humiliated him.
