Chapter 85 - Chapter 85

The current strongest person in the Spirit Hall, Qian Daoliu, had a pretty good relationship with Jiang Chen upon their first meeting.

Jiang Chen's goal wasn't just Qian Renxue; there was also the Saint position. Besides Bibi Dong, if he could gain Qian Daoliu's support as well, then when the time came to confer him as a Saint, who would dare oppose it?

When Jiang Chen returned to the dormitory, Hu Liena was already waiting for him to eat.

Although that awkward incident happened yesterday, Hu Liena now seemed to have forgotten about it.

However, Jiang Chen could still see an unusual look in her eyes, a gaze as if she were looking at someone her own age.

Perhaps, starting from yesterday's incident, Hu Liena no longer treated him as a child, at least in certain aspects.

But recalling how Hu Liena had fled in embarrassment after seeing his reaction yesterday, Jiang Chen's heart stirred. In the future, when Hu Liena teased him again, if he showed the same reaction as yesterday, or even stronger, perhaps it would make Hu Liena back off...

During dinner yesterday, Bibi Dong had said to let Hu Liena take Jiang Chen out these few days to relax and adjust his mindset. Once the Spirit Hall Academy started, he would enroll.

So after lunch, Hu Liena pulled Jiang Chen and headed outside.

"Senior Sister, you're not really making me go shopping with you, right?" Jiang Chen said somewhat unwillingly.

His mindset was perfectly fine; he had no lingering issues after returning from the Death Camp and didn't need any adjustment at all.

Although in his previous life he had been a single guy, he had served as plenty of backup plans, and the thought of accompanying a girl shopping filled him with dread.

Hu Liena forcefully dragged him out, turned back, glared at him, and said coquettishly, "What are you saying? Senior Sister is accompanying you to relax, not that I want to go shopping."

"Not true at all." Jiang Chen muttered inwardly but didn't say anything more, resigning himself to handing over the rest of his half-day to Hu Liena.

After walking for a while, Jiang Chen noticed something was off. Hu Liena didn't even glance at the bustling various shops; she pulled him forward with clear purpose.

"Senior Sister, where exactly are you taking me?"

Hu Liena turned back with a smile. "I'm taking you to meet two older brothers. With them watching over you at the Spirit Hall Academy in the future, no one will dare mess with you anymore."

Jiang Chen's heart stirred; he already knew who Hu Liena was referring to.

Moments later, the two arrived at a quiet residential area and stopped in front of a small building.

Hu Liena didn't speak or knock; she simply walked right in, clearly very familiar with the place.

Jiang Chen followed closely behind Hu Liena. In the hall on the first floor, he saw two youths with extraordinary temperaments.

Both youths appeared to be around fifteen or sixteen years old. One had features very similar to Hu Liena, tall with a height of about 1.8 meters, and neatly trimmed black short hair standing like steel needles. His expression was very calm; just sitting there, an invisible sense of conviction burst forth from his body.

The other youth was also tall, but his appearance was somewhat ordinary, with long fiery-red hair draped behind him, and even his pupils were dark red. Like the first youth, an intangible aura emanated from him.

As soon as Hu Liena entered, she happily called out, "Brother, Yan, you're both here, great!"

The black-haired youth was none other than Hu Liena's elder brother, Xie Yue. His originally calm face instantly turned into a brilliant smile upon seeing Hu Liena, his eyes filled with indulgence.

He quickly stood up and gave Hu Liena a gentle hug.

The fiery-red-haired youth was the Yan that Hu Liena had just mentioned. Upon seeing Hu Liena, he hurriedly stood up as well, his gaze toward her somewhat fervent.

Hu Liena didn't hug him but smiled and greeted him.

As Jiang Chen followed in, he immediately drew the attention of the two youths.

"Nana, who is this?" Xie Yue asked.

Hu Liena pulled Jiang Chen over. "Brother, this is my little junior brother. He was only six when he went to the camp, and I never expected him to have grown so much after coming back."

"Little Chen, this is my real older brother Xie Yue, and this is Yan." Hu Liena introduced.

"Hello, Brother Xie Yue, Brother Yan." Jiang Chen greeted.

"Going to the Death Camp at six and still coming back alive, you're quite impressive," Xie Yue praised.

"Brother Xie Yue flatters me. It was all thanks to the care of the instructors that I could make it out of there," Jiang Chen said modestly.

Yan, off to the side, said, "Well, that makes sense. As the Pope's disciple, it's not surprising he received special care inside."

His words carried a sour tone, and Jiang Chen could see a hint of vigilance in this guy's eyes.

Jiang Chen was extremely perceptive; Yan's reactions naturally didn't escape him. He knew this guy Yan liked Hu Liena very much and had a rather narrow mind, yet Hu Liena had always treated him only as an older brother.

"Yan, what are you saying? Little Chen walked out relying on his own strength; he was even the top of this batch," Hu Liena immediately said in dissatisfaction.

Xie Yue looked at Jiang Chen in some shock. Jiang Chen was only nine now, while the other students should have been thirteen or fourteen. With an age difference of four or five years, how had Jiang Chen beaten them all?

Yan didn't think so. He believed Jiang Chen was the Pope's son; even if those instructors were usually so strict, would they dare disregard the Pope's face? Perhaps Jiang Chen's first place was just given by the instructors.

But seeing Hu Liena getting upset, he quickly forced a smile and apologized to Jiang Chen. "Sorry, Little Chen brother, I spoke wrongly just now."

"It's fine," Jiang Chen said.

"Stop standing around like fools, let's sit and talk," Xie Yue said with a smile.

"Ah, why sit? Little Chen and I came out today to go shopping. We're just missing you two now, let's go!" Hu Liena urged.

"I think I'll pass," Xie Yue said with a bitter smile. He was also afraid of shopping with his little sister.

"Come on, Xie Yue. It's rare for Nana to come out, and she even brought a guest; we can't neglect them, right?" Yan persuaded.

"Alright then."

...

What Hu Liena had previously called accompanying Jiang Chen to relax had now completely turned into three youths accompanying her, satisfying her desire to shop and buy things.

However, Hu Liena didn't forget Jiang Chen either; she dragged him to buy more than a dozen sets of clothes and even got him a new hairstyle.

In her words, Jiang Chen dressed too poorly, and standing next to her would lower her taste.

Looking at Hu Liena hopping ahead, Jiang Chen felt somewhat exhausted and helplessly followed behind.

Suddenly, Yan fell back a few steps and came in front of Jiang Chen.

"Little Chen, I heard from Nana earlier that you live together with her?" Yan asked casually, but the vigilance in his eyes grew even stronger.

Jiang Chen's handsome appearance made him somewhat jealous, and being the Pope's disciple, he might even become a love rival.

Jiang Chen naturally saw through this guy's thoughts. On the surface, Yan pretended to be indifferent, but inside, he was extremely nervous.

"Yeah, right after I entered the Spirit Hall, I lived in the same room as Senior Sister and even slept in the same bed. Yesterday, when I came back, Senior Sister was very enthusiastic and slept with me the whole night. She even said sleeping with me feels really comfortable."

The fake smile on Yan's face vanished instantly. His expression turned as ugly as if he had eaten something dead, nearly spitting out a mouthful of blood.
