Chapter 84 - Chapter 84: Hulk Rampages Again

"What's going on?"

"Report, Director, that big green guy is rampaging again."

"Understood."

Natasha looked at the fast-moving flow of people, coupled with their panicked expressions, and felt that something was wrong. She quickly asked the subordinate observing from upstairs, and the news she received made her feel frustrated. How could that big guy be rampaging again? Hadn't the Director already taken him away? Why would he appear in a place like this?

"Susan, let's head back first! It seems like something is about to happen."

Artoria also sensed that something was wrong. She pulled Susan and followed the crowd quickly. It was best not to get involved in this mess for now. While leading Susan away, Artoria used her Bluetooth headset to ask Saturday what exactly was happening.

"master, based on the camera processing results, I've found the origin of this big fellow. It seems he escaped from a temporary Military Base."

"That old man Ross seeking death again."

"It seems S.H.I.E.L.D. was intercepted."

Finding her sports car, Artoria took Susan and fled. At a time like this, she didn't want to get involved with Military business. The bigger the scene Hulk caused, the better it would be for Artoria. It was just that annoying General Ross; once she collected the evidence and added the stark family's influence, she didn't believe this bastard old man wouldn't be forced to step down. Don't underestimate a woman's grudge; even if Artoria was a woman who came from a different path, she was very vengeful. She had recorded the words the old man said while looking at them arrogantly last time in the little notebook in her heart, waiting for an opportunity for revenge.

"We should also retreat, don't get swept up in this."

Hope also snapped out of her Envy. She wasn't brainless; if she didn't retreat now, there might be big trouble in a moment. So, she also took her newly formed team members, Helen Cho and Maya, and began to retreat in the direction of the crowd.

"Director, should we make a move?"

"No rush, let's observe the situation first."

The one-eyed Nick Fury watched the Raging Hulk through his binoculars with his one eye, stopping his subordinates from going up to deliver their lives. He was now waiting for the Military guys to clean up this mess. Nick was not a kind soul, nor did he want to wipe someone else's ass. Hulk was supposed to be invited into S.H.I.E.L.D., but he didn't expect General Ross to be so well-informed, surrounding him with people in advance and taking Dr. Banner away.

Was Nick such a good-tempered person? Of course, he was not.

So he stood on high ground eating donuts and drinking coffee, watching General Ross's subordinates being smashed into pancakes. Although he felt bad for these poor soldiers, who told them they had an unreliable superior? Moreover, the Military had always been at odds with S.H.I.E.L.D.; the fact that he didn't set off a string of firecrackers to celebrate was already a sign of his high character.

"Let's see how you wrap this up, General Ross."

Nick coldly watched the giant cannons being set up and the armed helicopters. Launching an attack of this scale in a densely populated city, he believed a Court Martial was waiting for this guy; General Ross was definitely finished. This was something that didn't even need guessing.

"Notify Phil, Natasha, and Special Agent Barton to begin their alert. All S.H.I.E.L.D. Special Agents are to begin directing the crowd; we cannot let civilians suffer too much harm. Take the injured citizens to the hospital, and for those who are half-dead, give them a shot."

"This..."

"Just kidding. Take them away from the danger zone as well and just do your best to treat them."

"Yes, Director."

Responding to her superior's dark humor, Special Agent Hill quickly began her actions. From her concise and clear movements, it could be seen that she was a quite shrewd and 'capable' woman. This point was affirmed by Nick; otherwise, he wouldn't have let a young girl be his assistant.

"This Little guy is here again. Is he really not afraid of death?"

However, Nick overlooked one kind of person: heroes. Especially the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. He saw the news on the big screen immediately and was not far away. Even if he was an 'old acquaintance' and had developed a bit of a shadow after being beaten last time, he was the indomitable Spider-Man! As long as he could still move even a little, he had to take responsibility for his abilities and help those who needed him. This was beyond doubt.

Last time, he was shocked quite badly by a guy who emitted electricity all over his body. Although he didn't know why the opponent ran away in the end, he still rushed to the battlefield despite his injuries. Nick also knew about this, especially since there were no fewer than twenty excellent Special Agents near the Little Spider's home, watching the Little guy's every move. So Nick knew the Little Spider's identity, but he was in no hurry to recruit him. First, his age was too small; the Avengers was not an organization that let someone who hadn't even graduated from school come out to wash away crime in blood. Hiring a minor is illegal.

Second, he hoped to give this Little guy some time to grow rather than rushing his development. He didn't want a Little guy to grow crookedly under his education. He knew very well what he was good at and what he wasn't. Now he was truly worried that this Little guy would be killed by Hulk; this was no joke.

He also knew that this guy was entering the field with injuries; that electric shock was not something an ordinary person could withstand, even if his physical fitness was extraordinary.

"What should we do, Director?"

Seeing the Director staring at Spider-Man for a long time, the subordinate finally decided to interrupt the Director's thoughts because the battle would soon spread here.

"Notify Special Agent Barton to cover that Little guy. Don't let him get flattened."

"Truly a headache-inducing child."

Finally, Nick scratched his hairless head. He was very frustrated now and could only let the ADC go and cover the Little Spider.

"Yes."

Hearing the Director's order, Barton began to execute it expressionlessly. He was an Special Agent; he had no feelings and no money, but he had a sister, a house, a wife, and a daughter! He drew his bow just to give his family more protection.

"Natasha, have Artoria and the others evacuated?"

"Yes, they have evacuated. The Tracker I installed shows they have already left the danger zone."

"Good."

Actually, it wasn't good at all. He still hoped Artoria would stay a bit; maybe she would directly expose her abilities, and then he could righteously say that with great power comes great responsibility. With such chicken soup for the soul, he could recruit Artoria to work in S.H.I.E.L.D. As a result, this girl ran away, and Nick could only look disappointedly at the miserable state of the Little Spider being bullied on the battlefield. Even if he was agile, the injured Little Spider couldn't exert much power.

"I'm here. Heroes always make their entrance last. Your Iron Man has arrived."

A red and gold flashy figure flew quickly from the sky, causing Nick to slap his own forehead. He was going to be lectured by Lady Maria again; what should he do? Moreover, wasn't this guy's suit blown up last time? How was it fixed so quickly?
