Chapter 60 - Chapter 60

Seeing that he obviously didn't want to elaborate on the exact details, Riveria felt only a slight sense of regret, but as a high-ranking member of the elven royal family who placed great importance on strict etiquette, being obnoxiously pushy or pestering him was definitely not something a person of her refined manners would ever do, so she just directly changed the subject.

"Well then, regarding the sudden drastic change in Raul and Aki during the battle with the floor boss, was that actually your doing?"

As a peak Level 6 and a top-tier mage at that, her field of vision during combat was exceptionally wide, meaning she had naturally noticed some of Noah's subtle actions at the time.

The very moment this direct question was asked, the two adventurers who had just been explicitly named, Raul and Aki, immediately perked up with intense interest.

The bizarre, special state they had been in had completely dissipated almost as soon as the battle officially ended and the sudden return of their normal, heavy body weight paired with the massive drop in their speed left the two of them feeling quite disoriented.

But they absolutely would not easily forget the insane physical sensations they had just experienced, so listening to Riveria ask this, could it really be that the black-haired young man sitting right before them was the one who had actually created that busted state for them?

This was precisely the exact situation Noah had been patiently hoping for.

"Yes, that was the specific support I provided to my allies on the frontline as a supporter."

"You call that support... I've honestly never seen that kind of support before, so how exactly did you even do it?"

This time, it was Alicia who spoke up.

She had actually joined the Loki Familia much earlier than Raul and Aki, officially making her their senior, yet the absurd strength those two had suddenly displayed in the heat of battle had completely and utterly astonished her.

It was simply way too strong!

They looked completely different from her long-standing impression of them, acting almost exactly like Ais out there!

But Ais was completely "special," and since those two definitely weren't anywhere near as special as her, the fact that they were somehow capable of pulling off such a performance totally overturned her entire everyday perception of her own comrades.

Noah smoothly took out two pre-prepared rounds of custom ammunition, and unlike the massive, heavy shells used strictly for Bombardment, these were only about the thickness of a thumb and maybe six or seven centimeters long.

"This is exactly what you want to know."

He held the two sleek mana bullets securely in his hand, clearly displaying them to everyone present in the tent, and calmly explained.

"These are custom projectiles I personally created. Using my exclusive weapon, I can fire these specifically to hit a target of my choosing."

"That sounds exactly like a crossbow that just uses these weird things instead of regular bolts," Alicia said, voicing her immediate thoughts out loud since her own archery skills were excellent, naturally leading her to choose the most familiar concept to easily understand it.

She had actually hit upon a very small part of the real truth, because as a basic delivery system, the core function of a launcher is fundamentally the exact same no matter how much time passes or how vast the difference in technological level is.

The ultimate purpose is simply to forcefully launch something.

Whether it's a futuristic electromagnetic railgun or basic laser calibration, absolutely none of it escapes this most basic concept, merely pursuing constant improvements like greater speed, much higher accuracy, and stronger adaptability.

As a weapon concept, this was already more than sufficient to kill literally any known animal in modern human society, so there was honestly no real need for further mechanical advancement.

"You can perfectly understand it that way."

"Then, was that massive Bombardment attack that directly hit the Goliath's mouth done the exact same way?"

"Just as I said, the main difference strictly lies in the ammunition... that is, the actual 'arrows' themselves. To put it simply, I literally just used magic arrows to directly deliver the potent effects of my 'magic' straight onto Raul and Aki."

Riveria frowned slightly.

The explanation was just way too simple, leaving entirely too many highly abstract parts left unexplained.

Although she could perfectly understand the literal words he was saying, she simply couldn't grasp any of the actual core concepts behind it.

First of all, perfectly sealing a volatile magical effect directly into a physical arrow was a completely and utterly different matter from just casually enchanting a piece of equipment with a passive magical effect.

A magical effect is essentially just an effect, but this young boy could somehow perfectly turn a physical arrow into a flawless tool for securely transmitting the raw magic itself!

She had absolutely never even heard of such an insane skill before, and even just treating it as a new invention, this casual display could easily be called historically great!

If the raw power of the sealed magic could somehow be exactly the same as what the mage themselves cast—no, even if it was just incredibly close to it—in that terrifying case, wouldn't all expensive magic swords instantly become a completely inferior substitute, totally destined to be ruthlessly eliminated by the changing times and completely submerged in forgotten history?

And the supposedly "great person" who actually created this game-breaking skill was just a young boy who was somehow even younger than Ais!

"This is honestly astonishing to an incredibly excessive degree," Riveria murmured as she closed her eyes and smiled faintly.

"'Swift Wind' can vastly reduce physical weight while massively increasing movement speed, while 'Extreme Cut' can instantly grant a weapon much greater attack power and sharpness." Noah calmly explained to Raul and Aki the specific effects of the powerful buffs that had been forcefully applied to them during the fight.

The cat girl had a sudden realization.

"So that's exactly how it was! No wonder my entire body felt so exceptionally light at the time!"

Raul, on the other hand, just sighed heavily with some totally visible disappointment.

"Is that so? I guess it really wasn't me suddenly awakening some new hidden power after all."

Looking at his totally deflated face, Noah really didn't have the heart to outright tell the guy that in the future, he would literally never acquire any cool skills or magic whatsoever, permanently remaining a totally average, common man through and through.

He would eventually even officially earn the grand title of "High Novice."

The ultimate fucking pleb.

It actually reached a hilarious point where even the gods literally couldn't help but give him such a brutally honest title just to publicly tease him.
