Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: Betraying Reika Kitami

Inside the dark Old School Building, tonight was even more eerie and silent than usual.

Swaying candlelight cast distorted shadows on the walls, and the air was filled with a bizarre scent of mixed mold and incense.

Kanjuro held Reika Kitami's cold hand as they walked down the stone steps leading to the Basement, with Aozaki Sakuya following closely behind, her long hair shimmering in the gloom.

The club members' gazes toward Aozaki Sakuya held a hint of understanding—they thought this Magician girl was just like the other women Kanjuro had seduced before, another sacrifice addicted to carnal desire.

However, no one knew that a ceremony that would change everyone's fate was about to take place tonight.

The moment she stepped into the Basement, Kitami unconsciously gripped Kanjuro's arm tighter.

Her gaze swept across the dim room, and her body visibly stiffened for a moment when she saw the familiar figure of Takashiro Hiroko.

Takashiro also noticed Kitami, and a flash of surprise crossed her eyes—everyone knew Kitami was the person the president cherished most, so why would she appear in a place like this?

She was like the president's 'white moonlight' woman.

The president sat elegantly on a carved wooden chair, slowly and methodically brewing tea.

Seeing Kitami arrive, a gentle curve formed on her lips, but a hard-to-detect fanaticism flickered in her eyes: "Kitami, I'm truly happy to hear that you're willing to join us."

"This is all because of Kanjuro." Kitami clung tightly to Kanjuro's arm, her voice carrying a hint of unease, "Kanjuro, why did you bring me here? What exactly are we going to do?"

Before she could finish, a low, eerie chanting suddenly echoed around them.

The female cultists raised black crosses, and a massive Dark magic circle slowly emerged on the floor. Complex Hebrew characters flowed within the array, emitting a suffocating wave of magical power.

Before Kitami could react, she was pulled tightly into Kanjuro's embrace.

He roughly tore open her collar, and the cold air touching her warm skin made her tremble involuntarily.

"Kanjuro, what's wrong with you?" Kitami looked at him in confusion, her eyes full of bewilderment.

Kanjuro kissed the corner of her mouth, his voice full of temptation and tenderness: "I want to have you here, Kitami. Are you willing?"

Kitami looked around, and although shame made her face flush, she still nodded gently.

To her, Kanjuro was a beam of light in the darkness, the only one who had reached out to help when she was abandoned by the whole world.

For the sake of this salvation, she was willing to give everything.

The two were intimate before the Stone sarcophagus, and the light of the magic circle grew stronger with their union.

Bizarre Hebrew characters rotated in the air, the cold wind howled, and the candlelight flickered violently.

The president's gaze gradually became sinister, jealousy and anger intertwining in her eyes.

When she saw that the union of Kanjuro and Kitami was triggering a resonance with the dark bible, she could no longer hold back and decided to step in to interrupt the ceremony. She knew she couldn't let Kanjuro awaken a new power of the dark bible, after all, he had interrupted it once before.

However, just as she raised her hand, a silver magic mark suddenly flashed, interrupting her movement.

The president snapped her head around to see Aozaki Sakuya standing not far away, the afterglow of magic still lingering in her hands.

"Foolish mortal," the president sneered, her low voice sounding like a demon's whisper.

Aozaki Sakuya suddenly felt weak all over, her magic stagnating within her body.

"Kanjuro, no matter what you're plotting, tonight is the day you die." The president walked gloomily toward the Stone sarcophagus, her robes dragging a bizarre shadow in the light of the magic circle.

By now, Kitami was soaked in sweat, and Kanjuro's eyes had turned blood-red.

The moment he and Kitami were completely united, a dazzling light suddenly burst from his body.

The president tried to stop the resonance between the dark bible and Kanjuro, only to find to her surprise that this time, her power could not intervene.

"What's going on?" The president took a step back in disbelief.

"Could it be that Kitami is the legendary true sacrifice of the dark bible?" At this moment, Takashiro Hiroko realized something and looked at the president excitedly.

Kitami felt a sharp pain coming from within her body, and tears fell involuntarily: "Kanjuro, what exactly is happening to you?"

Kanjuro let out a roar, a Golden spear-light flashed, and Kitami's body was lifted by an invisible force, suspended in mid-air.

Everyone present was shocked by this incredible scene.

An even more inconceivable sight followed: Kitami was enveloped in black light, and countless crimson tentacles suddenly stretched out from the dark bible, dancing wildly in the air.

At the same time, an even more complex Hebrew magic circle appeared beneath Kitami.

"Kitami is the true sacrifice!" the president cried out, her eyes filled with both shock and undisguised ecstasy.

Kitami stared blankly at everything before her, while Kanjuro's expression was cold and unfathomable.

The moment he united with Kitami, Kanjuro felt his power undergo a qualitative change, as if he had gained absolute control over women.

But now, he clearly realized that this was still far from enough.

The president impatiently took out a special cross, its base as sharp as a blade, glinting coldly in the candlelight.

"Kanjuro! Hand her over to me!" The president's voice trembled with excitement, "Kitami is the perfect vessel the dark bible has been searching for!"

"Don't do it!" Aozaki Sakuya forced herself to stand up, her voice full of warning.

Kitami looked at Kanjuro, her eyes holding her last bit of hope: "That moment just now was the happiest time of my life. Are you really... willing to abandon me?"

Kanjuro turned his face away, his heart as still as water.

At the moment of his union with Kitami, he not only felt the awakening of power but also realized a startling truth: both he and Kitami were vessels for the dark bible.

Kitami could awaken the power of the dark bible, while he had the opportunity to take the chance to sign a contract with that power.

Just as Kanjuro hesitated, a group of female cultists rushed forward and firmly grabbed Kitami's limbs.

Kitami was forcibly pressed into the Stone sarcophagus amidst her struggles, desperate tears sliding down her cheeks.

The president held the cross high and walked step by step toward the Stone sarcophagus.

Meanwhile, Kanjuro's gaze was fixed on the dark bible not far away, which was vibrating violently.

The pages flipped wildly, and crimson tentacles reached out from within, as if thirsting for the offering of a sacrifice.

The entire Basement was enveloped in a suffocating wave of magical power, the scales of fate were slowly tilting, and everyone made their choice at this critical moment.

And the power of the dark bible was about to awaken in the most unexpected way.
