Chapter 9 - Above the Burnt Memories

A gentle breeze swept across the school rooftop. Rimuru leaned gracefully against the railing, took a deep breath, and said:

— The air here is nice, isn't it?

Mai, still a little somber and thinking of Renako, replied softly:

— Yes… it is.

Rimuru's sharp instincts scanned the surroundings, and in a tone that made a simple fact sound like a revelation, he continued:

— I heard this is the very place where you confessed to her.

Mai flinched. She expected Rimuru to be angry or jealous, but on his face, there was only cold, commanding curiosity. Stammering, she said:

— Y-yes… it's here.

Rimuru smirked and whispered:

— Interesting.

— What's interesting? — Mai asked.

Rimuru turned to her, closing the distance, and in a voice that sent shivers down her body, said:

— Come… and kiss me.

Startled, Mai blushed immediately and averted her gaze. Rimuru continued, his tone carrying a sharp warning:

— See? You're still shy. I know you love me, but you should understand that opportunities don't last forever. I don't lack marriage proposals, Mai. If you hesitate, there are those who would die for your place.

The fear of losing Rimuru awakened a powerful instinct within Mai. She didn't want to be alone again—especially now that she had found someone like him. Without thinking, she stepped forward and kissed Rimuru with all her heart.

During the kiss, Rimuru took her hand and placed it under his shirt, on the warm skin of his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart.

— Touch me… as much as you want, wherever you want. This body belongs to you, as long as you give all of yourself to me.

As Mai lost herself in the sensation of holding her new beloved, Rimuru whispered in a tone that no longer resembled a request, but an absolute command:

— Forget Renako. End it completely. This is an order, understood?

Melted by his power and the scent of his presence, Mai whispered involuntarily:

— Understood…

Rimuru smiled victoriously, running his hand through her hair and pressing her head against his chest:

— Well done, my good girl.
