Before too long its Trevor's turn to take the field. He stands across from a fairly heavy set man who has a steel plate chest piece on and a full helmet with a face plate that can cover his face. Currently you can see the man's face because the face plate was flipped up. The look on his face could only be described as haughty. Yet again this man is a part of Vincent's party and judging by his armor he is their party's tank.
In front of Trevor's opponent is a large lizard type beast which is about seven feet long and three feet tall. Its body is pretty fat and rounded but all across its back is small spikes that cover its already armor-like body with another form of protection. The beast has a long tail that's over three feet long with a spiky ball like protrusion at the end of it. This beast is called an Earth Bound Ankylosaurus, its well known for its terrifying defence and strength. It's a pretty rare souldbound and judging by the arrogant look on Trevor's opponents face it probably cost his family quite a pretty penny.
Richard signals for the match to start and immediately Trevor's Dire Wolf sprints towards his opponent. When the Dire Wolf is about ten yards from the Ankylo all of a sudden the Dire Wolf jumps to the side, as soon as he does an earthen spike shoots out of the ground where the Dire Wolf had been only a moment before. If the Dire Wolfs instincts weren't so sharp it would've been impaled within the first few seconds of the match. As soon as the Dire Wolf lands on the ground after it dodges it immediately has to dodge again because another earth spike shoots out of the ground where the Dire Wolf had just been. Because the Dire Wolf has to constantly dodge these earth spikes its assault falters and its not able to close the distance between itself and its opponent. Over and over again the Dire wolf is made to dodge the practically lethal earth spikes as it does it slowly inches towards the Ankylo, everyone who is watching is practically holding their breath because sometimes the Dire Wolf is just barely is able to dodge the earthen spikes.
Finally the Dire wolf is able to get within ten feel of the Ankylo. When it does the Ankylo slams its tail on the ground and all of a sudden a ten foot high earthen wall appears in between the Dire Wolf and the Earth Bound Ankylosaurus. The Dire Wolf barely has time to stop its forward momentum to come to a sudden stop. Before the Dire Wolf even has time to catch its breath an earthen spike shoots out from the earth wall causing the Dire Wolf to dodge again, this time its not able to keep itself unharmed because the earthen spike catch's the ear of the Dire Wolf and completely tears it off of the Dire Wolfs head.
The Dire Wolf trys to run around the earth wall as spikes constantly come from it, these spike are coming from numerous heights while the Ankylo try's its best to land another hit on the Dire Wolf. Finally the Dire Wolf is able to get clear of the wall only for another wall to be erected in front of it, and of course another earth spike comes from the wall in an attempt to impale the Dire Wolf.
Everyone watching the fight is in awe of the Earth Bound Ankylosaurus prowess. They comment between each other wondering how the Ankylo can even accurately shoot these spikes while its vision is blocked by the wall. Oliver and his party though know that the Earth Bound Ankylosaurus has a sixth sense that allows it to be able to sense where an enemy is if they're within a certain distance from it and are attached to the ground.
The same scene is still happening on the field and the two beast use their innate senses to attack and defend against each other. If it wasn't or the Dire Wolfs danger sense it would've long been riddled full of holes.
Eventually the Ankylo is surrounded on all sides by earthen walls. Its at that moment that something unexpected happens! Trevor's Dire Wolf jumps and lands on one of the earthen spike that is protruding from the wall, using it as a stepping stone it jumps to an earthen spike a little further up on the wall, when it does another earthen spike shoots from the wall a little higher up aimed at the Dire Wolfs head but the Dire Wolf is able to dodge it and jumps to another spike, when it does it immediately jumps to the spike that had just been shot. The Dire Wolf is now well over halfway up the wall and makes a massive leap which results in its head, front paws, and about half of its chest to make it onto the wall. It then is able to slowly climb onto the wall. It is perched on the top of the wall but no earth spikes shoot up to impale it! It turns out that the Ankylo is almost out of mana and no longer has the mana to shoot an earth spike that far away from its body!
The Dire Wolf lets out a long howl now that it realizes it is currently safe. This howl chills everyone's bones because of the amount of malice that can be felt from it. The Dire Wolf is panting hard and clearly intends to rest for a second now that it is relatively safe. But before long it begins to make its move, Trevor knowing that the Ankylo is also using this time to rest doesn't want to give his opponent enough time to be able to shoot another earth spike so far away from its body because if it does the Dire Wolf would probably have to jump off the wall to not be impaled, because though the Dire Wolf has relatively high Agility it is not a cat, the wall is not very thick and the Dire Wolf is already at its limit just keeping its spot on top of the wall.
With another howl the Dire Wolf activates a skill that causes a slight red haze to come from its body, This is a skill called Frenzy which increases the Dire Wolfs damage by ten percent while lowering its defence by ten percent, while also warping its mind. After activating its skill it jumps from the wall and dives straight for the Ankylo who is now trapped in a small box of earth and doesn't even have the room to turn its body without its tail hitting one of the earth walls.
Right when the Dire Wolf is going to chomp down on the the Ankylo an earthen spike shoots from the wall and hits the Dire Wolf right in the side, though because its in the air the spike just pushes the Dire Wolf into the opposite wall with enough force for small cracks to show on the wall. If the Ankylo had more mana it would have been able to pin the Dire Wolf to the wall with its earth spike but clearly the Earth Bound Ankulosaurus was on its last legs mana wise.
There's nowhere for the Dire Wolf to fall besides on top of the Ankylo where one of the six inch spikes that covers its body stabs into the side of the Dire Wolf, the weight of the wolf pushes the spike all the way in and it trembles there for a second before slowly trying to get up. As its getting up the walls around the Ankylo crumble and the Ankylo begins to move towards the now open ground in a attempt to not only get away from the Dire Wolf but also give it enough room to club the wolf with its tail.
The Dire Wolf dosen't let it get to far though because even though the Anklo moving had made the wolf land on the ground after it got up the Dire Wolf in its frenzied state it ignores its wounds and the spikes on the Ankylos back as it pounces on its opponent then uses its strong jaws to bite down on the Ankylos neck, its sharp teeth only sink into the Ankylo about half way in though because of the Ankylos armor like skin. With is teeth sunk into the Ankylo it begins to shake its head viciously in an attempt to sink its teeth even deeper into the now defenceless Ankylo and finish it off for good.
All of a sudden Richard appears next to the two beast and grabs the Dire Wolf by its scruff and with an incredible display of strength forces the Dire Wolfs fangs to retract from Ankylos neck and then Richard tosses the wolf ten yards to land a little ways away from a dumbstruck Trevor.
Trevor had tried to tell the Dire Wolf to stop but the Dire Wolf was in such a blood frenzy that it wouldn't stop when he used the soulbind to tell it to.
The Dire Wolf had the wind knocked out of it because it landed heavily on its side which helped clear its head enough that when Trevor reached it and put his hand on the wolf to reinforce his command to stop through the soulbind the wolf just layed back down exhausted and hurt from the previous strenuous fight.
