Chapter 54 - Chapter 54: Myriad Dreams and the Return of Night Owl.

After two consecutive weeks of observation and data comparison, Tojo Hana was faced with a rather frustrating fact.

Forcing Myriad Dreams to wake up early resulted in a "Night Owl" debuff that severely impacted training quality and efficiency.

Rather than having her perform low-efficiency drills with dark circles under her eyes and a lethargic spirit, it was better to respect her biological clock in exchange for her full concentration on the track.

When Tojo Hana informed Myriad Dreams of her decision to "allow sleeping in and adjust the morning training schedule accordingly," the girl— who just a second ago had blurry eyes from drowsiness— seemed to be injected with infinite vitality the next.

"Really?! Thank you so much, Trainer Tojo!"

She practically skipped away from the training ground.

Upon returning to the dormitory, she excitedly dove onto her bed, hugging her duvet and rolling around happily, letting out a satisfied sigh of "Uuu~ I'm saved~"

Yaeno Muteki had just finished her own training and returned to the room only to see Myriad Dreams rolling on the bed like a kitten that had received its favorite toy.

An involuntary, gentle smile spread across Yaeno's face.

She sat down by the bed and asked softly, "What happened, Dreams-chan? You seem especially happy today."

Myriad Dreams flipped over and sat up, her eyes sparkling as she hurried to share the momentous news.

"Muteki! Trainer Tojo finally showed mercy! Starting tomorrow, I don't have to get up so early! I can sleep until I wake up naturally... ah, no, I mean I can sleep enough before getting up for training!"

Seeing her blatant, pure joy brought on by the simple prospect of "sleeping a bit more," the indulgence in Yaeno Muteki's eyes almost overflowed.

She gave a soft "Mm" and reached out to tidy the strands of hair that had become messy from the rolling.

"That's great. That way, Dreams-chan can get better rest."

The two then chatted as they usually did about interesting things during training and about future races.

However, Yaeno Muteki's gaze remained tenderly entwined with Myriad Dreams.

The deep care and love contained within it, no matter how she tried to hide it, quietly leaked out through the unconscious movement of her eyes and the slight upward curve of her lips.

Perhaps it was excessive excitement, or perhaps the hard-won "right to stay up late" gave her a certain delusion, but Myriad Dreams decided to "celebrate" that night.

She read manga and played games, indulging in her long-lost nightlife and completely tossing the original intention of "ensuring adequate sleep" to the back of her mind.

The result was predictable.

The next morning, when the adjusted training time arrived, what Tojo Hana saw on the track was a Myriad Dreams in even worse condition than when she was being forcibly dragged out of bed by Rudolf.

Her footsteps were unsteady, the dark circles under her eyes were heavier than ever, and she looked like she could fall asleep while walking— classic symptoms of staying up way too late.

Tojo Hana watched this scene and remained silent for a moment.

Finally, she could only raise her hand and press it firmly against her forehead in utter helplessness, letting out a sigh that was almost inaudible.

She began to doubt whether allowing this girl to sleep late was a correct decision after all.

This girl seems to lack the ability for self-management entirely!

Ultimately, Tojo Hana felt quite desperate.

To ensure that Myriad Dreams could maintain a normal routine, she waited until the end of the session and made a special trip to another training ground to find Myriad Dreams' roommate, Yaeno Muteki.
