Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 - The Dungeon Planet

The Lost Vampire System Chapter 16 - The Dungeon Planet

A Second later Jareth's body crashed onto the soft grass waking him up.

"Agh!" Jareth shouted in shock as he stood up from the ground instantly. "Where am I?"

Jareth looked around but he couldn't see much around him. It was dark outside and he could feel a breeze brush through his hair as he blinked a couple more times. He was standing on what appeared to be a grass plain. There were fireflies everywhere lighting up the area. There were some ruins in the distance with a few trees here and there. The area was vast and was probably 5 miles in length and width but surrounding the entire area was dense grey fog. He looked up into the night sky and could see the countless stars that were shining brightly. Besides the situation and the grey fog, the place looked very beautiful.

How did I even get here, Jareth thought? Where am I even at? How do I get back to school?

He thought about it more and came to the realization that they probably wouldn't even send a rescue team to where he was, if they even knew where he was. He was just a weak student after all and not worth the time. He then thought about his sister being devastated that he had disappeared and his resolve to get back grew.

Jareth but his backpack that he was hugging when he fell asleep on his back.

"I will get out of here, wherever I am," Jareth spoke with confidence.

"The Half-ling took a couple steps forward admiring the area when the system activated.

"God tier Artifact. Rarity: SSS+ godslayer Relic has been activated. Forged in the abyss by a forgotten Demon Lord, it houses an entire Pocket Beast Planet. A self-sustaining hellscape world teeming with Becifers and layered dungeons."

"Sorry, what?" Jareth muttered reading the information. "Did it say Pocket Dimension? Am I in a pocket Dimension?

The System ignored Jareth as it continued.

"Location: Sanctuary Meadows. A Lush green field with soft grass, colorful wildflowers, gentle streams, ancient glowing trees, and warm sunlight. This area has 100 Simple tier hounds. Once all are defeated then it becomes a safe zone and the Dungeon of Dominion is open. You may not leave until all 100 are dealt with."

His eyes widened as he frantically looked around. Hounds, where? His guard was up as he was looking around trying to see where these hounds were. His heart was beating rapidly. He looked at his stats and realized that his health was at 8 of 20 and his energy was starting to lower quicker. As far as he knew he didn't know where he could get the food to sustain him.

I doubt that the hound's blood will work on me, Jareth thought as he heard a growl from behind him.

He spun around as he investigated the soft grass. He squinted, trying to focus on any movement within the grass. A moment passed, then movement could be seen as what looked like a relatively small black dog came out of the grass. It was panting as the small dog looked at Jareth with what he thought was a smile. The little dog yiped happily as it spun around in circles.

"You don't look like a hound," Jareth said as looked at the dog.

It yipped again as it spun in a circle once more.

"Come here little guy," Jareth said beckoning the dog forward to get petted.

The little guy yipped again as the dog trotted over to Jareth. About halfway to Jareth, he remembered that this dog was not a normal dog and was in fact a Becifer creature. From what he was taught all Becifers are dangerous, even the more tamed ones.

As soon as Jareth thought about this, the dog's eyes glowed red; it grew to double its size within a second, lunging at the Half-ling with intense ferocity.

"AGH!" Jareth yelled in fright throwing his body to the left dodging the hound's attack. "That is messed up!"

The hound went flying past him crashing into the soft grass creating a line. It turned around to face Jareth giving a roar. Jareth quickly looked around for anything that he could use to fight the hound, but there was nothing.

The hound gave another little roar sending slobber everywhere as it charged at Jareth.

Jareth froze in fear and did what every scared person does and that is moving his arm over his head. During the motion something happened.

System, "Skill activated: Draven's Blood Slice, also known as just Blood Slice. A skill that will fire out a line of energy from the hand in the claw shape. Error: Minus 5 Blood Energy."

In the middle of the motion Jareth accidentally activated his blood attack skill out of fear. His arm glowed red in the middle of the motion and a claw shape energy line sliced out of his arm. The line of red blood energy traveled forward toward the lunging hound. The hound squealed slightly, trying to avoid the attack, but to no avail, as the energy cleanly sliced through the Becifer. The Becifer's backside was separated from its frontside. The two parts crashed in front of Draven. Jareth slowly lowered his hands as he looked at the hound.

"Congratulations," the system said. "You have killed 1 Simple low tier hound. Plus 5 exp. Exp: 5 of 80. New quest received. Survive or defeat the other 99 hounds. You can not go back until all hounds have been defeated. Survive while the system attempts to override the Dungeon of Dominion."

"99 hounds," Jareth stuttered as it took a great deal of energy just to kill one of them, and my health is already low.

System, "User: Jareth Nightshade. Race: Half-ling. Level 3. Exp: 5 of 80. HP (Health Points): 8 of 20. Strength: 12. Stamina: 12. Agility: 11. Dexterity: 5. Blood Energy: 20 of 35."

Great, Jareth thought in a sarcastic way. I'm going to die.

A yip was heard from behind. Jareth turned around to see another small black dog. The dog yipped in a happy manner giving a spin for Jareth.

Yip!

Another hound was heard from the side.

Yip! Yip! Yip! Yip!

More hounds started to approach Jareth.

"Yeah," he chuckled. "Like I'm falling for that."

As if the cute hounds understood, their eyes glowed red, and their bodies doubled in size, baring their slobbering teeth.

Without hesitation, Jareth turned tail and ran for his life through the grass. The hounds gave a howl as they chased after Jareth. Jareth was running faster than the average human through the tall grass toward the ruins in the distance. He was panting heavily but didn't dare to look back. He didn't know what he was doing but he thought that there might be something at the ruins that he could use.

"Just a reminder that your blood energy is both the power source for your blood abilities and your daily energy," the system stated. "You are exerting yourself. Blood Energy will decrease more as you use more energy."

"Oh, come on!" Jareth yelled in annoyance.

"Blood Energy: 19 of 35."

"ROAR!" One of the hounds roared with sounded like it was up in the air behind him.

Jareth jumped to the right and a hound flew past his face crashing onto the ground. He briefly glanced back as he continued running.

Yip! Yip! Yip!

He could hear more hounds from both sides as he was getting closer to the ruins.

Roar! Roar!

The hounds that hadn't joined in the chase yet gave a type of battle cry as they joined up with the others. He quickly turned back to see at least a dozen following him.

"Why me?!" Jareth cried as he ducked, avoiding a hound that had come from the front.

The halfling kept running, now only a few hundred feet away from the ruins. He looked into the ruins with his good eyesight and could see a sword laying on the ground.

I have to get to the sword, Jareth thought with determination just as a hound slammed into him from the side.

"Ow."

Jareth was flung to the side as the hound tried to bite his face off.

"Damn dog!" Jareth shouted, punching the hound in the side of its face before rolling onto his feet and continuing to run.

He jumped and sidestepped two more hounds as he was now only fifty feet away. He continued to run as sweat was dripping down his face.

"I will live!" He roared as he had reached the ruins grabbing the sword.

Roar!

A hound roared as it leapt at Jareth. He spun around swinging the sword in a wide arc slicing the hound through its belly.

"One hound killed. Plus 5 exp," the system notified him.

Another hound jumped at him baring its teeth at him. He swung the sword upward missing the hound.

"Sh*t!" he yelled as the hound sank its teeth into his shoulder.

"OW!" He screamed in pain as blood was seen.

"Minus 4 HP. HP: 4 of 20. You are bleeding. Minus 1 HP every 3 minutes until the bleeding is stopped. Error: Passive healing won't work while is combat. Error: Emergency healing is not available. Conditions to activate Emergency healing: Become a Basic Vampire."

"Why me?" Jareth cried as tears flowed from his eyes. "What have I ever done wrong? I have been bullied my entire life!"

In anger he grabbed onto the hound ripping it from his shoulder throwing the hound away farther than he thought. Something that a normal human could do. From where he had entered from hounds approached and three jumped at the same time heading for Jareth. In a panic, he opened the system and activated the only attack skill he had while swinging out his arm.

"Blood Slice has been activated. Error: Minus 5 energy."

From Jareth's swing, a blood energy arc burst from his hand, slicing the three hounds in half at once.

"Three hounds killed. Plus 15 exp."

He smiled seeing this but it quickly dropped when he saw the hounds entering the ruins. They stopped a couple feet away from Jareth growling away.

Bark!

The front hound had let out a loud bark as it looked at the three sliced up hounds. The hound gave a little whine as it looked at its fallen comrades before looking back up at Jareth.

Roar!

Jareth gripped his sword as he was prepared to fight for his life.

"You are bleeding. Minus 1 HP. HP: 3 of 20."

He moved his arm, trying to bear through the pain, when the butt of his sword brushed against his waist with a soft tink.

"Huh?" Jareth muttered as he looked at the sword then at his waist where his pocket was. He pondered for a brief second then it hit him.

The rock, Jareth thought as he switched sword hands. He then pulled out the shiny black rock that his father had gifted to him.

"Well," Jareth muttered as the twelve or so hounds roared in unison charging at him. "You better not have been full of sh*t."

Using all of his inhuman strength he could muster he crushed the rock in his hands. For a moment nothing happened as the hounds continued to charge but the next second a bright yellow light erupted from his hand covering the whole place in what looked like sunlight.

"You are in direct sunlight. All stats will be reduced by 40%."

Jareth covered his eyes as the light was too bright for him to handle as his body felt weak once more.

"WHO DARES TO SUMMON ME?!" the divine voice roared.
