Chapter 25 - The Sly Wyvern

Naela woke up, blinking her groggy eyes open to the world. As per usual, her senses took a while to register the world around her. That was until she heard the soothing voice of her mistress.

"Good morning, Naela."

The wyvern took a deep breath. I could get used to waking up to this noise.

She sat up, but when she saw her vampire, Naela's eyes widened. Elanore stood there with her usual gorgeous grin, but the outfit completely changed. The vampire's face reddened from the wyvern's gaze.

"How do I look?" Elanore asked with a slight twist of her body.

Naela stared at the vampire, blinking several times, and trying to burn the image into her mind. The white skirt whirled with the mistress's movements, and the pretty pink band caught the wyvern's eyes. Then there was the pink shirt with an image of Pot on it. For reasons unknown to Naela, this made her heart thump even more, and it gave her a desire to jump and squeeze the vampire.

Wings sprouted from Naela's back in her excitement, and she flapped them until she was upright.

Elanore chuckled. "I take that as a good sign? You do like it, right?"

Naela nodded emphatically. "I love it, mistress!"

The vampire grinned but not before she pulled out her own surprise for the wyvern. Elanore presented Naela her maid dress, only this time it was all stitched together. Naela raised an eyebrow at the new differences in the design. Her eyes immediately roamed towards the chest piece. There, a pink heart glittered.

Elanore's face flushed the moment Naela paid attention to it. "I fixed your dress."

The wyvern grabbed it and took it into her arms. She stared at the little heart with a wide smile of her own. "You made it even better."

Elanore reached her arm towards the maid outfit. "Are you sure? I could always try to put a different gem in it? This was the only one that…"

Naela frowned and gritted her teeth together, turning away from the vampire in a hurry. "I will not let you take this from me, mistress!" She ran into the bushes before the vampire could even think of chasing after her. "Don't even think of peeking!"

The wyvern could hear a sigh from her mistress, but she paid it no heed. She focused on the clothes in front of her, grinning from ear to ear. The more she looked at the heart gem, the more her own heart pounded. Naela felt a sensation like magic butterflies dancing around in her stomach.

In all of her life, Naela had never felt this way before. Each day she spent with Elanore, she kept learning something new about herself. She brought the dress close to her face, unintentionally taking a whiff of the dress. It even carries the smell of her mana.

She turned towards the sewn bits of the sleeves and smiled wryly. Little pink threads of magic were woven into the seams. Silly mistress, these don't match the outfit at all.

Nonetheless, Naela climbed into the black and white dress. She performed a spin and admired Elanore's handiwork. In her excitement, Naela's wings sprouted forth again. Only, this time, they did not rip apart the back. Not only that, but the outfit responded by opening into slits for the wyvern's flappy appendages.

The wyvern's mouth opened and closed several times. Even though she is so helpless, the mistress manages to do things like this. Seriously...What am I going to do with her?

Naela came out of the undergrowth and saw Elanore already speaking to Pot. For a brief second, the wyvern's heart sank, but she shook it off. For me, to be jealous of a cauldron…

Elanore spotted the wyvern and grinned. The vampire ran over, grabbing the wyvern's shoulders. "Oh! I really outdid myself here! You look amazing!"

Like always, Naela was surprised by her mistress's frantic nature. She kept trying to calm herself down, but Elanore's cute demeanor and fragrant scent made all of the blood inside of the wyvern's body go haywire.

Once again, the wyvern was defeated by that seemingly innocent devil. Naela swallowed. "D-do I really look that pleasant to you, mistress?"

"It's more than just pleasant! You look lovely. Naturally, as my servant, it is your duty to look good in anything!"

Pot flapped his wings as if clapping in response. "You are quite right, your majesty. It is only natural that the servants of the future queen of the land will look the best."

Naela looked down and rubbed her index fingers together. "Can you do that thing again, mistress?"

"What thing?"

Naela couldn't answer with words, finding them too embarrassing to speak. She reached towards Elanore's hand and placed it on her head.

"O-oh," the vampire said, obliging the silent request.

Naela felt the bliss of a thousand years spent in heaven. The mistress's hand rubbed across her head, petting the wyvern. Naela's tail waved back and forth behind her, and her foot thumped against the ground.

"Is that enough?" Elanore asked.

"A little more…"

The wyvern felt her breathing becoming more and more hoarse with each passing second, and those magic butterflies returned with a fury of their own. Her mind flickered with unspeakable imagery. No matter what her mind conjured, she needed to stay calm.

Though, in the end, her urges won out. She could not hold herself back anymore.

Both of her arms wrapped around the vampire in front of her, and for the first time in Naela's life she felt a warmth like touching the sun.

"N-naela?"

But the wyvern couldn't quite hear the voice. She was too focused on her hug. Every part of Naela's body was telling her this was the right thing to do. It's all your fault, mistress. Ever since you held my hand...you had this coming.

Naela looked up to the flustered vampire's face and flushed cheeks. Finally, the wyvern let go of her prey. With a sly grin, she walked away from Elanore, leaving that vampire to wallow in the same feelings that afflicted Naela.
