Several months later, at the edge of a vast space distortion region known as the "Eye of the Storm," two towering black figures, as massive as mountains, guarded a weary figure. Together, they struggled through the final chaotic energy turbulence and stepped into the relatively calm core region.

It was Jieming, accompanied by his only remaining two Black Giants.

Thirty years of campaigning had not been without cost.

Another Black Giant had been completely destroyed during an ambush by a powerful native creature tribe. Now, only the original two elders remained by his side.

Through continuous devouring and evolution, they had undergone a complete transformation.

Their bodies had grown even more massive. The original ten-meter frames had become taller, with one even exceeding thirty meters. Beneath their black skin flowed an energy glow like molten lava, radiating a terrifying pressure—they had both advanced to become fourth-tier beings!

The earliest third-tier Black Giant had now reached the peak of the fourth-tier, just one breakthrough away from entering the fifth-tier domain.

As elemental creatures created from lava giants and snow monsters, the Black Giants possessed an innate affinity for the law threads of "energy" and "time."

The Black Giants' path to advancement differed from that of wizards, requiring less profound understanding of rules and relying more on the accumulation of resources and the excavation of their own potential.

Combined with the body tempering method and Five Organs Method that Jieming had installed for them, their advancement speed was terrifyingly fast, provided resources were abundant.

With their formidable ability to battle above their tier, these two fourth-tier black giant now possessed actual combat strength even surpassing their master, Jieming, capable of tearing apart ordinary fifth-tier beings with their bare hands!

"Finally, we're here..." Jieming let out a long sigh, wiping nonexistent sweat from his face—in zero gravity, liquids struggled to flow naturally.

He glanced around, still shaken.

Within the eye of the storm, the rules of gravity had completely collapsed. At times, he was violently pulled in one direction, at others violently thrown in another, and sometimes gravity from multiple directions acted simultaneously, as if trying to tear him apart.

The chaotic gravity churned energy and matter, creating a terrifying spectacle resembling an eternal storm.

Only in this core region, where extreme gravitational forces canceled each other out, had the familiar zero-gravity stability of the Void Domain Plane been restored.

Yet, this calm often masked greater dangers.

The stable environment combined with the terrifyingly high energy concentration led to a far greater density of life forms compared to the outer regions.

Just as Jieming stabilized himself, he felt countless icy wills lock onto him.

From the colorful, swirling energy mist surrounding him, tens of thousands of creatures slowly floated out.

Their main bodies resembled translucent, giant jellyfish, with umbrella canopies ranging from several meters to tens of meters in diameter. Their soft tentacles swayed like ribbons, emitting an ethereal glow.

But these "jellyfish" were far from harmless. A dangerous energy core pulsed at the center of each umbrella canopy, and the tips of their tentacles were tipped with sharp energy spikes capable of tearing through space shields.

"Tsk, a Tranquil Jellyfish Colony... and an enhanced variant at that," Jieming sighed, his face growing more weary, but his eyes instantly sharpened.

"I knew it wouldn't be this simple."

Without hesitation, he moved his will, and over a thousand crystalline, rune-imbued magical artifacts shot out from his sleeves.

These artifacts moved as if alive, rapidly assembling behind him to form a massive, intricately structured ring radiating seven-colored light—the Great Light Phase Formation!

"Roar!"

Without needing Jieming's command, the two Black Giants let out earth-shattering roars and charged forward!

The massive bodies of the Black Giants erupted with astonishing speed, defying their size. Like two black war fortresses, they crashed into the jellyfish swarm.

The battle erupted instantly!

The power of the fourth-tier black giant was terrifying. Combined with their innate time acceleration, they surged into the jellyfish swarm almost instantaneously.

Each swing of their frost-clad, energy-infused fists reduced groups of Tranquil Jellyfish, along with their condensed energy shields, to dust!

They opened their gaping maws and unleashed torrents of scorching lava breath. The violent elemental powers intertwined in space, instantly clearing vast swathes of the area.

Meanwhile, Jieming hovered in place, the Great Light Phase behind him operating at full power.

Tens of thousands of energy bullets rained down like a torrential storm, precisely targeting the jellyfish attempting to encircle the Black Giants from the flanks or rear, as well as those particularly massive individuals with abnormally strong energy signatures.

The energy bullets collided with the jellyfish's energy shields, producing a continuous barrage of thunderous explosions and blinding flashes that illuminated the core region like a supernova.

The Tranquil Jellyfish Colony also displayed remarkable resilience and intelligence.

They didn't simply charge blindly. Smaller jellyfish spontaneously coalesced, linking their tentacles to form larger, unified shields that withstood the Black Giants' attacks.

Some special individuals unleashed powerful mental shocks, attempting to disrupt the consciousness of Jieming and the Black Giants.

Even more extreme, some self-detonated their energy cores, creating devastating, wide-ranging energy tides that caused significant trouble for the Black Giants.

The battle raged for days and nights.

The energy fluctuations in the core region never ceased, and the light of explosions replaced the eternal light source.

Jieming's face was pale, his mental power draining like a breached dam, yet his hand controlling the "Great Light Phase" remained steady.

The Black Giants' combat fervor only grew wilder. As the battle progressed, their body tempering method made them increasingly resistant to the jellyfish's various attacks.

The abundant biomass also became their source of replenishment and evolution.

Finally, when the last giant jellyfish king—the one with the most intense energy signature—was torn apart by two Black Giants, exploding into a shower of light, the clamorous core region fell into a temporary, deathly silence.

Exhausted to the point of collapse, Jieming drank a vial of magic potion, deactivated the "Great Light Phase," and ordered the Black Giants to maintain vigilance. He then swiftly gathered the relatively intact, research-worthy biological samples.

Only after completing these tasks did he truly relax and begin investigating the "energy anomaly" mentioned in the mission.

He took out the camp-issued space fluctuation detector and infused it with his mental power.

His vision shifted, revealing smooth spatial patterns that indicated the surrounding space was relatively stable, with no noticeable anomalies.

He then attempted various conventional detection spells: energy perception, elemental scan, and even a subtle Rule Investigation. All yielded nothing.

"Something's not right..." Jieming frowned.

The mission description had clearly mentioned an abnormal energy signature in the core region. It couldn't be a baseless claim.

Since conventional methods had failed, he had to resort to unconventional ones.

He took a deep breath, closed his eyes slightly, and then snapped them open!

"Universal Eye, activate!"

In an instant, the white mist vanished, and a torrent of information flooded his mind like a bursting dam!

The subtle folds of space, the fundamental flow of energy, the underlying code of the rules... the sheer complexity of the data threatened to overwhelm his consciousness.

Jieming grunted and immediately focused his observational range, forcibly shrinking it to within two meters of himself.

Even so, the sheer volume of information left him dizzy and his soul throbbed with sharp, stinging pains, though still within his tolerance.

Like a blind man wielding a precision probe, he began to scan the seemingly tranquil core region inch by painstaking inch, his progress slow and arduous.

The process was mentally draining. He had to stop frequently to rest and restore his mental power.

Days turned into weeks. Jieming toiled like a miner, sifting through the ocean of information in a desperate search for treasure.

Half a month later, as he moved into a seemingly empty area, the data from his Universal Eye suddenly shifted!

The spatial structure there wasn't smooth and continuous. Instead, it contained an incredibly intricate, nearly perfect "fold" and "disguise."

A layer of seemingly natural spatial folds cleverly concealed the truth behind them.

Jieming's heart skipped a beat. Focusing all his mental power, he gently parted the veil with his gaze and "looked" into the folded space.

It was a rift.

A massive spatial rift, yet with impossibly stable edges, lay hidden behind the space fold!

Jieming suppressed his shock and slowly "observed" the rift's edge.

The rift's length was beyond comprehension. He "flew" along one direction for a long time before roughly confirming its scale—at least a kilometer in diameter!

So massive, so stable, and most crucially, so skillfully concealed...

"Artificial! Absolutely artificial!" Jieming's mind raced.

This could never be a naturally formed spatial rift. It had to be a passage deliberately created and hidden by some entity!

He dared not linger. Immediately, he deactivated the Universal Eye.

The prolonged use of the technique left his brain reeling.

Yet he forced himself to stay alert, quickly recording his findings on his magic net terminal: In the core region of the eye of the storm, a hidden, large-scale, stable spatial rift has been discovered. It is suspected to be artificial in origin. Coordinates have been recorded.

As the message was sent, deep within the floating city, in a secluded chamber.

Dionysius Spencer remained lazily reclined on the sofa, a thick ancient manual in his hands, as if all the turmoil of the outside world were irrelevant to him.

Yet, his seemingly casual mind was processing the torrent of information uploaded by hundreds of thousands of wizards in the expeditionary force through their terminals at a terrifying speed.

Suddenly, his long, slender fingers paused mid-page turn.

His gaze swept over a new message highlighted in his consciousness—from Jieming, a second-tier wizard, reporting a discovery in the core region of the eye of the storm.

A slow smile spread across his usually amiable and handsome face.

This smile was no longer gentle; it held a chilling, predatory satisfaction, like that of a top predator about to unleash its fury.

He gently closed the book and murmured, his voice echoing in the empty room with a barely perceptible thrill:

"Found it..."
