Chapter 8 - Chapter 8- Deal

Damian

Something stirred inside me when I saw this she-wolf .

I've seen many women in my life, but she is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. She's not only beautiful but also brave and courageous. The way she stood up for her pack when no one else did—it caught my attention in the ways I didn't expect.

I asked her name, but she refused to tell me. Then her father came forward and wanted to make a deal with me. Jacob laughed, mocking and denying him rudely. That's how it's supposed to be because they should know they're in no position to negotiate with me. But Alpha Samuel was not ready to hear it. He told me again about his so-called deal or agreement.

I moved my eyes from her. It took a lot of effort. Fuck, she was fucking messing with my head already.

"King Damian, we want to talk with you, please. We don't want the bloodshed of innocents."

Ahh, what a nice Alpha. If only he knew I love to shed blood. I let my eyes roam over the other werewolves. They were looking at me with fear, and that gave me satisfaction. But seeing the beauty beside this man brings something else to my dead heart. Why, I have yet to understand.

I smirked. "And why do I need to hear you when I can get whatever I want in my life?"

The alpha's jaw clenched in anger. I chuckled. "There's no need to talk. Just accept me as your king and follow my orders. I'll leave you all alone."

I really feel bored now. They are quite boring, but what can you expect from animals?

Then he told me we can sit and talk. Now he's getting on my nerves. This man is the father of my little wolf, whose name I have yet to know, have similar facial features and the same hazel eyes.

My eyes fixed at alpha, even though I wanted to stare at her. I then said, "No, I don't want any deal with you. Don't waste my time."

But then the little she-wolf came forward. Cute yet daring. She said, "Why can't you hear us, King?"

My eyes zeroed in on her. Everyone was staring at her. Her mother tried to grab her, but she didn't let her. She confidently confronted me and told me I wasn't a king enough.

I should feel anger because she disrespected me and dared to talk to me with this tone. No one ever dared to do that. Instead, I felt amused and let her speak.

Jacob wanted to kill her, and my vampires hissed too. I could feel their rage.

I told her, "Are you stupid or brave?"

She said she's reasonable.

She's somehow right. If we fight, then we will lose vampires too, and I can't lose my vampires. Then I agreed to hear what her father wanted to say and what he could do to save his pack and other fellow werewolves.

I finally nodded and told Samuel, "Let's see what you're offering me, so we can negotiate and come to an agreement which can be beneficial for both."

No matter what, my eyes flickered to her again like they had their own brain, but she was ignoring me. That bothered me more than I wanted to admit.

Soon after, we sat on a big sofa set which was placed across the hall. Alpha Samuel and Alpha Sean sat beside me. I hate these animals' smells. They smell warm, and vampires love icy cold, chilly smells. But my little wolf smelled different. She smelled heavenly. I wanted to bury my nose into her neck and take her scent in.

She spoke last time when she told me how a king should behave. After that, she was quiet. And now, for the same reasons, she was refusing to directly look at me. Like I wasn't even there.

Samuel took a sharp breath. "As we don't want any war and killing each other, we will accept your leadership over us and come under your vampire rule. But as alphas and pack members, we always seek our people's well-being. So maybe there are many decisions you will take for us, but they might not be beneficial for us, so we cannot accept those decisions. Except that, we will accept everything. In return, you can ask us for one thing. Anything."

He continued, his voice getting stronger. "Territory. Resources, Information about our enemies. Access to witches we have connections with, Whatever you need."

His voice hardened on the last words, like he didn't want to say them. However, none of these things are important to me. I don't want anything from them.

The she-wolf who affected me badly. The desire to have her in my life is the strongest desire I've ever felt, more than winning power or territory.

It's not safe for both of us, but I want her like I've wanted nothing else. My inner beast wants her. What is the reason? I still don't understand. Everything about her and the pull is a puzzle for me. A puzzle I need to solve.

I should hate this. I hate werewolves because they are our sworn enemies, but I can't hate her. I feel the strongest pull toward her. Now I know what I want from them. Even though it's not necessary.

"Name your price, King Damian. And if it's reasonable, we have a deal."

Samuel's voice took me out of my thoughts. My eyes then openly stared at her. Suddenly, her eyes collided with mine too. The desire only became stronger. I need to have her. A blush crept upon her face when she realized I was staring.

Fuck, is she trying to kill me with those innocence?

"Okay, Alpha Samuel. Your offer is acceptable. I'm accepting your deal. You don't need to follow all of my orders. Just accept our leadership, and we will leave you. But in exchange, I want something. If not, I'll happily break this deal. A guarantee that you'll honor my wish."

Many wolves sighed in relief. Some of them even smiled. A smile tugged at Samuel's lips too, thinking he'd won something.

I leaned back in my seat, letting the silence stretch. Let them wonder what I wanted. Let them worry about what price I would demand. Alpha Samuel shifted beside me, uncomfortable with the silence. "What do you want? We can offer you—"

"I don't want your resources," I cut him off, my voice cold, and territory or powers."

I let my eyes move back to her. This time, I didn't look away. I stared at her openly until she had no choice but to meet my gaze.

Her breath caught. I heard it. I heard her heartbeat speed up too. A blush crept upon her face, fucking beautiful.

She was trembling.

Barely. Almost invisible.

But her hands were shaking slightly at her sides. She took a slow breath, trying to calm herself.

Was she afraid of me, or did she understand I want her?

Good, So Alpha Samuel, I told him. My finger pointed in the direction I aimed .

"I want her."
