Chapter 110 - Chapter 110: The War Begins

Acnologia led everyone except Cana to the temporary camp.

Makarov, Gildarts, Erza, Mirajane, and the teams that had failed in the first stage were all gathered here.

Upon hearing that Grimoire Heart was attacking, everyone immediately became tense, as if facing a formidable foe.

Not to mention the Seven Kin of Purgatory, even dealing with thousands of Mage grunts wouldn't be easy; some might truly be fodder, but others could be stronger than most of them.

Tenrou Island was the holy ground of Fairy Tail, and fleeing from their holy ground was not their style.

Makarov's expression was grave: "I didn't expect Hades Prehecht to fall into darkness. He was once a great man; even my magic was taught by him."

Lucy and the others were shocked: "He was the Master's teacher?"

Makarov said: "Not only that, he was the second Master of Fairy Tail. He was the one who passed the position of Master to me."

"However..."

He said with a serious look: "Since he chose to stand against Fairy Tail and wants to harm my children, even if he was a former Master, I will show no mercy!"

Everyone felt their hearts racing; such a figure must be terrifyingly invincible. How were they supposed to deal with him?

Could the Master win?

Makarov said: "Go find Cana immediately and leave Tenrou Island together. I will activate Fairy Law to wipe out all the enemies in one go!"

He knew that Master Hades Prehecht also knew Fairy Law, but as long as the children left, he could activate it without restraint.

Acnologia said: "It's better to face the enemy on Tenrou Island together. If we try to leave by boat, they might just blast my ship to pieces. A battle at sea is clearly much harder than one on land."

"With so many of us, there's no need to be afraid!"

Natsu agreed wholeheartedly. Fighting in the water would cut his strength by at least half; it was much more satisfying to fight on the ground.

"That's right, Master! With Gildarts and Acnologia here, we might not necessarily be outmatched!"

"We are Fairy Tail Mages. No enemy can take us down."

Except for Juvia, no one else wanted to face that situation, and they all chimed in.

Makarov looked at everyone's determined expressions, thought for a moment, and agreed: "Then we shall face them head-on and defeat all the enemies together!"

The children needed to grow, and it was time for him to retire. The future belonged to them.

After an inspiring speech, Makarov finally gave the order to attack and face the enemy!

...At noon, the two sides finally met face-to-face. Masked Dark Guild members gathered, numbering in the thousands, and the war instantly began.

"Fire Dragons Roar!"

"Ice-Make: Ice Knight!"

"Requip: Heavens Wheel Armor!"

"Dark Ecriture: Demon!"

"Take Over: Satan Soul!"

"Crush!"

Rumble!

Magic circles spread across the sky as terrifying spells were fired, erupting with destructive power that instantly tore the earth apart, with violent energy sweeping in all directions.

Dark Guild members who couldn't dodge in time were blasted into nothingness. Facing the full-power lineup of Fairy Tail's strongest, most enemies stood no chance.

However, the leaders of the Dark Guild stepped forward, each finding an opponent and launching fierce attacks, finally giving the ordinary members a chance to catch their breath.

Acnologia's path was blocked by a guy with triangular eyes. The people around seemed to know how powerful he was and avoided him.

This triangular-headed, triangular-eyed man looked up with arrogance: "I am Denerga, an S-Class Mind Mage of the Dark Guild. Today, I will slay you here!"

Acnologia thought these guys were weird, always introducing their magic during a fight. He beckoned with his finger and said with interest, "Come, let me see how powerful a Mind Mage is."

Denerga snorted coldly; this person didn't know the meaning of fear yet. He waved his hands, and a black magic circle unfolded in front of him: "Everyone has fears, and I manifest those fears. You will face your own nightmare and experience true despair!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a massive black curtain enveloped Acnologia. This was a place of dark despair; one could never escape without defeating their nightmare.

"Fear manifestation?"

Acnologia stood still as the darkness completely enveloped him. He wasn't in a hurry to break it; instead, he was somewhat expectant.

From ancient times to the present, he had never felt fear. What would his nightmare be?

Suddenly, light appeared. He raised his hand to shield his eyes, and before him lay a land of destruction—broken walls, ruins, and corpses everywhere.

Acnologia was slightly disappointed: "Is this it?"

What was there to fear from dead people? He had personally destroyed an era before.

"Acnologia? Is that you?"

Just then, a familiar call came. A dying Lucy walked over, half of her body charred by flames, enduring intense pain every second.

"Lucy?"

Acnologia frowned slightly. Although he knew this was an illusion, he instinctively reached out to support Lucy, while casting healing magic over her.

Lucy's complexion improved slightly, but the burn wounds wouldn't heal. She said in agony, "This is our guild. Everyone is dead!"

"Only... the two of us are left."

"This is our guild?"

Acnologia looked at the corpses around him, burned to the bone, their original forms long unrecognizable. A surge of anger rose in his heart: "Triangle-head, you're looking for death!"

"It's not some triangle-head..."

Lucy's tears flowed uncontrollably as she sobbed, "The Gods and the Dragon Race descended at the same time. Even the strongest, Irene and Gildarts, couldn't stop them. They didn't wait for your return; they've all died in battle."

Acnologia fell silent. He reached out to wipe away Lucy's tears, looked into her dazed eyes, and said softly, "Don't worry, none of this will happen!"

He no longer wanted to stay in this world of despair. He thrust his hands through space and tore it apart fiercely; the entire world was ripped open like a canvas.

The descent of dragons and Gods was not his fear. Only the destruction of the guild and the death of his lover and daughter were things he could never accept!

Acnologia's cold gaze turned toward Denerga. His figure arrived in an instant, and he grabbed the man's neck. His overbearing strength squeezed the neck until it was as thin as a willow branch, making the sound of bones shattering.

Whether it was fake or real, anyone who dared to touch his Reverse Scale would not be allowed to live.

A look of intense pain and despair appeared on Denerga's face. Just what kind of being had he provoked?

However, he couldn't utter a single word. His neck was snapped by the overwhelming force, and his vision plunged into darkness.
