Mirella nodded. "Ordinary undead are little more than corpses moved by dark energy. But some rare undead continue to evolve over time. As they grow stronger, they awaken new powers. They may develop spiritual attacks and gradually recover the special abilities they possessed while alive."
She gestured toward the crocodile.
"This shallow water crocodile originally had a poison attribute. Normally, after death, it would become only a common skeleton. But this one has retained its poison and gained a spirit attribute as an undead. It now possesses two attributes."
She paused and added, "When we felt that strange change a moment ago, that was likely its spiritual attack."
Sienna nodded slowly, absorbing every word.
Then another thought occurred to her. "So if a humanoid undead survives long enough," she asked, "could it eventually regain the skills it had in life?"
Mirella's expression turned solemn. "Yes, Young Miss."
Her voice dropped lower.
