"It was.... M-marcus..." She whispered, the words coming out slowly. "He wanted me to kill you."
Alex's eyes narrowed. Marcus! He should have known it was that son of a bitch. But why did he choose to attack now, instead of immediately after that night. Could it be that the man had been waiting for him to lower his guard, so that he could strike? That seems plausible... But that still doesn't explain why he would send an awakened against him.
Sure he was sort of an awakened, but the only people who knew about that were Nyx, the baby-faced girl; doris and Silas who just got taken this night, so there was no way Marcus knew that he was an Awakened.
So assuming that Marcus knew he was still a normal college kid, then why would he send an awakened to kill him. That's basically like using a hydrogen bomb to kill a rat.
He turned back to the horny woman under him and questioned.
"Tell me why? And don't you dare lie, if not I'll leave you like this."
