"... Them?" Ambrose found a response after what felt like an eternity. "Who are 'them'?"
Future Ambrose's lips pursed with hesitation, making Ambrose feel like plucking off his own ears.
"Are you seriously going to leave me clueless here?" He snarled. "You once told me the Void entity was the least of my problems—which was hard to believe at first. Until I came across the Devourer in that elven dimension."
He flew closer, his expression becoming grim. "A being capable of consuming billions of lives from an entire planet. Yet I still feel that pales in comparison to whatever it is you're telling me about now."
Future Ambrose's face remained blank.
A sigh broke past Ambrose's mouth. "Are they aliens? Dungeon beasts? What—"
"They," the older man finally spoke, his eyes shutting for a beat, "called themselves the 'Archons'."
In a blink, future Ambrose appeared beside him, making him jump back.
