Loki had their arms folded before their chest as they watched over the unconscious bodies of Ambrose and the others.
Seconds ago they… sensed something. From Orion's psyche.
It was as if the boy's consciousness was struggling to break free. To wake up. But just before it could reach the surface, something held it back.
Loki had tried pulling Orion's consciousness out by force, but it was no use.
"What is happening in there, little guy?" They walked to Orion's side, placing a hand on his forehead. "You can fight this. Just wake up and put an end to this—"
Their phone rang just then.
The umpteenth time in the last hour.
The lord of chaos would've just switched the damn thing off, but they were following updates on the plague from the internet. Numbers kept rising up, and world governments kept making difficult decisions globally.
But it appears the tea could wait.
