He couldn't even remember how or when exactly he crashed. But the moment his eyes opened—he saw himself in an entirely different location.
"Well, fuck me sideways," he rasped, spitting out the dust on his mouth. "Now what do we have here…?"
Around him was a thick foliage of tall trees, moss-covered earth and vines bigger than the landlord in his past life. He grunted, pushing himself off the ground.
Sand stayed buried beneath his nails but that was the least of his worries. The trees around him blotted the sun's rays but a few golden beams made him realise it was daytime.
The overlapping chirps of outlandish birds and insects resounded from every corner, making him increasingly tense. Water dropped from the leaves above, soaking the earth until it had that rich, slightly sweet smell that came after rain.
