Chapter 130 - _Don't Blame The Player

When Ambrose's consciousness came flooding back, his eyes didn't open immediately. They stayed still, only fluttering a bit when a stream of blue light hit his face.

'What the…?' he groaned mentally. 'What the hell happened? Where am I?'

[You could easily answer both questions and more by opening your eyes.]

'Oh, so I'm not dead,' he felt the urge to roll his eyes. 'Hello to you too, Aura.'

[Stop being a bag of potatoes and open your eyes. For starters, your men have been worried sick. Also—don't you want to see your new stats?]

That last question instantly made Ambrose's eyes widen.

Within a few seconds, he was able to take in his environment by sight and his spatial awareness. It was the Guild's infirmary—a large room with dozens of beds lined side by side and lit by white fluorescent lights.

It smelt faintly of drugs, disinfectants and something he couldn't name for the life of him. His bones ached like he'd fallen from a tree and then rolled down a rocky hill.
