Furan knew the other party must be insane. This damn situation wasn't just a case of offending him and having him come back for revenge; he was purely here to take her down with him.
Due to the unique status of apprentices in this city, anyone who saw the target wearing an apprentice robe would turn and leave immediately; it simply wasn't worth risking one's life for that money.
But it was different for two modified humans who only knew how to follow orders; whether it was a person or a ghost, they would charge and hack away upon hearing the command, lacking the logical thinking of a normal person.
Furan's own hand wound had been healed by the healing potion. She didn't show it, and her other hand was still accumulating a Wind Blade.
Mars seemed to have finished gloating and knew that no matter what, his actions wouldn't end well. So, he blew his whistle and charged forward himself, brandishing a sword.
Furan began to circulate her Breathing Technique. Wind gathered around her, and then she let the wind elements converge in her palm to make the next Wind Blade even more powerful.
This was a little trick she had practiced; she had been overjoyed when she discovered that these two skills could be linked.
She stretched the Wind Blade into a horizontal shape and fired it at the three charging men. The Wind Blade was extremely fast and struck all three directly.
A line of blood appeared on the abdomens of all three, but it didn't pierce through them. Their pace faltered because of it.
"Ah!" Mars couldn't quite withstand such an attack and fell to the ground, wailing in pain.
The two modified humans, however, didn't stop at all. Pain seemed unimportant to them as they continued to charge forward.
Furan stepped forward, specifically moving to the side. The low-intelligence modified humans lacked normal human reasoning; although one didn't swing his weapon seeing his companion in front of him, his movements still hindered his partner.
The modified human behind couldn't stop in time and crashed into his companion, obstructing the attack. This allowed Furan to easily dodge while also hindering the movement of one of the modified humans.
"The intelligence of these modified humans really isn't much," was Furan's first impression after fighting them.
But these modified humans were still very durable. Furan tried to pierce a neck with her sword, but it hit something hard. The sword's trajectory was deflected, and it failed to penetrate.
It seemed their creator knew the neck was a weakness and added some special protection. However, Furan wasn't in a hurry. She pulled back, and the two modified humans chased after her again.
Furan threw another Wind Blade, creating wounds on the two orcs. When the orcs rushed up, she released another Wind Blade.
After a few rounds like this, the two orcs were, after all, only modified humans and not some steel constructs; they collapsed to the ground, blood pooling everywhere.
If she didn't have the Wind Blade Spell, dealing with them might have been a bit more taxing, but not very difficult; she would have still won by kiting them.

Next, Furan's gaze turned toward Mars, who was lying on the ground. It was time to decide whether or not to deliver the finishing blow.
Furan stepped on Mars's head, causing his body, which was about to crawl up, to freeze. Gradually, his body stopped moving.
Furan knew Mars was still alive. Her sword hovered over Mars's head for a moment before finally piercing his neck.
Blood sprayed out, splashing on the ground. Furan pulled out the sword, which was covered in blood, and flicked it to the side, splattering the blood onto the floor.
Furan ultimately decided to kill Mars. She definitely wouldn't be able to sleep soundly leaving such a hidden threat alive.
However, killing him meant she had to bear the consequences of killing an apprentice. In the end, considering he had attacked first, she might not receive a very heavy punishment.
She might just be fined or detained for a few days.
"Hey, do you need my help?"
A familiar voice came from behind. Furan turned her head and saw Elan appearing behind her.
Furan didn't say things like "This is such a big deal, how can you help?" Instead, she asked:
"How are you going to help me?"
Elan revealed a smile and said:
"For the sake of our relationship, I won't charge you this time. You can just leave; you don't have to worry about anything."
Furan's face was full of disbelief. How could a smuggler like you solve the matter of me killing an apprentice?
As if knowing Furan wouldn't believe him, Elan said:
"If you don't believe me, staying is fine too, but it'll just waste more of your time."
Furan certainly couldn't leave now. The scene was right here, and she still had to establish that Mars had attacked her first, rather than her ambushing him or something.
What if the law enforcement officers had a lapse in judgment and designated her as the instigator? However, she didn't refuse Elan's help either.
In her view, since Elan could sell Spells and potions, he must have connections. Having help was better than nothing.
After a while, a squad from the Law Enforcement Team in uniform arrived. They briefly inspected the scene, ignored Furan, and asked Elan directly.
"What's the situation at the scene?"
Elan didn't answer immediately. Instead, he adjusted his hat before saying:
"An apprentice attacked another apprentice due to a personal grudge. He even bought two modified orcs from the Modification School as assistants. The attacked apprentice killed everyone in self-defense. That's how it is."
Another member of the Law Enforcement Team was scribbling in a notebook, seemingly recording something.
Then the questioning member continued:
"Are there no other casualties? Is the attacked apprentice this person?"
He pointed in Furan's direction, and Elan replied:
"No more. It's her. Don't you see the blood on her body and sword?"
The member ignored Elan's complaint and continued:
"Both apprentices are from Cuilan Academy, right?"
"Both."
"Both?"
"Both!"
After confirming twice, the member said to the other law enforcement officers:
"The matter is recorded clearly. Just call the professionals to handle the bodies. Let's go."
Furan silently watched everything from the side. After they left, she walked forward and asked curiously.
"Why didn't they even ask me anything?"
In the original owner's memory, when apprentices had conflicts, both parties were taken away and detained for several days. Many people were questioned during the investigation, unlike this time where they didn't even ask a passerby.
"What did I tell you? I said you could just leave, but you stayed here and wasted time."
Elan continued to explain:
"The Academy assigns a main person in charge for every area, primarily to supervise everything that affects apprentices within that area. I am the person in charge of the Apprentice Market."
"Of course they have to ask me, because the regulations state that the investigation must consult the person in charge of the current area. I am using my reputation to vouch for you."
