Chapter 63 - WAAAGH!

As the saying goes, before a great war, there must be supplies.

The Overmind had acquired two new variants less than a month ago, and while the Hives on other planets were still in the process of spreading Creep, a massive WAAAGH swept through his star sector.

On a desert planet furthest from the Overmind, the Hive had just completed initial Creep coverage across the entire globe, with Zerglings teeming in every corner.

Numerous Overlords were lazily drifting and sowing Creep, but in the void of space, countless Ork ships—cobbled together from scrap metal and wreckage—had arrived. Their numbers and variety were staggering.

These ships didn't even have proper airtight seals; one could see hordes of Ork Boyz through the gaps in the hulls. They seemed completely indifferent to the vacuum of space or lethal cosmic radiation.

A kind of invisible force field protected the entire fleet, holding together ships that looked ready to fall apart at any moment and shielding the greenskins from the deadly environment.

This was the WAAAGH.

There is no "biggest" WAAAGH, only "bigger."

However, the WAAAGH isn't omnipotent. From time to time, unlucky Ork Boyz could be seen falling out of the ships as they traveled, drifting toward nearby planets and moons under the pull of gravity.

Likely, those worlds would be overgrown with greenskins soon enough.

Leading this Ork fleet was a Warboss named †Gaurik†. He stood over four meters tall, clad in incredibly heavy and massive mega-armor. One hand featured a giant power klaw capable of crushing a Space Marine, while the other held a twin-linked shoota that could pierce Terminator shields.

This Warboss was far stronger than the one the Zerg Swarm had encountered previously.

Gaurik was irritated by the purplish-black hue of the desert planet below. He issued an order based on a completely ridiculous whim.

A cold light flashed in his bionic left eye as he commanded, seemingly just having "thought" of it.

"Burn dat planet for me! I likes red, I don't likes black!"

For this absurd reason, countless greenskins began boarding transport ships or drop pods to land on the planet. A rain of steel fell from the sky. The Zerglings looked up as the drop pods drew closer and closer, finally slamming into the middle of the swarm.

"WAAAAGH!!!"

Shouting their war cry, the greenskin Boyz leaped out of the pods with big choppas in one hand and sluggas in the other, instantly cleaving through the Zerglings in front of them.

They didn't care what the Zerglings were; they only knew they loved a good scrap. Life without a fight was boring; only fighting until satisfied made one a true Ork!

The seemingly harmless Overlords also came under attack. Some unlucky ones were impaled from top to bottom by the claws and spikes on the landing pods, while more were riddled with holes by the turrets mounted on the transport ships.

"Hahahaha!"

You can imagine the scene: greenskins gripping triggers on external turrets, spraying lead into the Overlords' bodies.

The Overlords tried to flee but simply couldn't outpace the Orkish transporters.

"Krump dem bugs! Krump dem bugs!!!"

"Chop, chop, chop!"

"More! I wants more!!!"

For the first time, the Zerg Swarm felt a crisis of insufficient numbers. Within half a day, the number of greenskins on the planet exceeded the Zerg population.

Armed with burnas or riding vehicles equipped with flamethrowers, they began incinerating everything on the planet—whether it was bugs or Creep.

Watching the red flames burning across the planet, Warboss Gaurik nodded in approval and roared:

"I likes red! Boyz, do you likes it?!"

"WAAAGH——————!"

As if responding to the boss, the Orks packed inside the ships raised their hands and cheered. They loved red too, and they loved watching a planet burn even more!!!

Meanwhile, the Overmind's heart was heavy.

"Overmind, our forces are under attack."

†Zagara, open the Nydus Network gates. I want to see if we can hold these greenskins off on that planet.†

"As you command, Overmind."

The Nydus gates burst open, and Zerg units poured out like a tide to reinforce the desert planet's defenses. They were primarily Hydralisks and Roaches, with several hundred Ultralisks entering in succession.

Even more troops were still incubating.

†Concentrate forces near the central continent. Recalcitrant areas of burned Creep must be re-covered. Do not let them near the Hive.†

The greenskins were still happily burning everything, but they soon noticed new enemies arriving. The Roaches became the main force, with Vile and Corpser variants leading the charge against the Ork positions.

"Hahaha, more bugs!"

"Chop 'em down!!!"

"Err-body get outta da way!!!"

A Killa Kan shuffled forward with a staggering gait, waving its circular power saw as it leaped over other greenskins.

Its saw instantly sliced a Roach's head in half. Like a fragile yet deadly killing machine, it began wreaking havoc.

And the number of these Killa Kans was staggering.

Flesh flew, and scrap metal splattered. These greenskins fought as if they knew no fear. The fanatical atmosphere of battle was difficult for even the Swarm to resist initially.

†Damn, greenskins are truly fierce, but their defense is total garbage.†

Just as a Killa Kan was on a killing spree, a Baneling rolled right into its face. The scrap-metal "can" was instantly melted through, and the pilot inside was dissolved along with it.

Several small Banelings crawled out from the remains of the explosion and jumped onto other greenskins, causing minor secondary blasts. While much weaker than the original, they still sprayed large amounts of acid into the Ork ranks.

The greenskins attacked by the frontline Splitterlings finally began taking heavy casualties. Even more small Roaches crawled out from within the Orks' bodies, attacking every enemy they could reach with acid and claws.

The local Zerglings also stepped up at this time to act as "line-fillers," plugging every gap that could fit a single Zergling.

The greenskin "tide" was temporarily held back.

†Now, PUSH THEM BACK!!!†

As usual, the Ultralisks led the way!

Only now, the Ultralisks were even more savage and fearless. Their speed was faster than previous versions; they were actually capable of a full sprint.

An Ultralisk charge is terrifying. The greenskins hadn't dropped any Stompas yet, and their already loose formation was instantly shattered. The Ultralisks began a massacre, tearing through greenskins and their vehicles like mowing grass.

†If I didn't know better, I'd think I was playing Warhammer Fantasy. What's with this infantry line-holding, ranged volleys, artillery bombardment, and monster charges? This isn't World War II style combat—this is straight-up medieval warfare!!!†
