The registration didn't take long once we used Devoa. A trace of my Essence was drained and inserted into the crystal connected to the Hunter tag.
"The registration is complete. Please keep the Hunter tag on you at all times," the elven receptionist said, placing the tag on the counter with one hand and holding out the other. "That will be 20 copper."
20…copper? I had to pay to register at a place I did not necessarily want to be part of. That did not only sound like a scam, it was one.
"Damn, a hoax." I blurted out, which earned a chortle from one of the Hunters. The elven man glared at me in the meantime.
"If you do not have the money, I can open a tab for you. The registration fee will be deducted from your future transactions."
What even was I supposed to say to that?
"Let's do that then." A heavy sigh escaped my lips. "I would like to sell a few monster carcasses."
