Chapter 48 - Chapter 48 — The Popular Jahy

Jahy wandered around Tanaka Masao's room for a long time.

Aside from finding even more evil books filled with records of countless girls' tragic experiences, she didn't discover anything else useful.

She walked out of the room feeling somewhat disappointed.

As she walked, she pinched her chin and thought to herself.

"Damn it… is there really no way to deal with that bastard Masao?"

Suddenly, two figures flashed through her mind.

"Go find Yukino and Hayato to expose Masao's evil deeds?

They've been pretty nice to me, but you never really know people just by their faces. What if the two of them are accomplices?

This option is on hold."

"Oh, right!"

Jahy's eyes lit up as she suddenly remembered something.

"That guy Masao came back from school yesterday looking completely drained. There might be a solution there."

Thinking it through, she acted immediately. Jahy changed into another outfit, took her magic stone with her, and headed out.

Less than ten seconds after the door closed, it opened again.

"Almost forgot you guys."

She ran back into the room and pulled out a small, cat-shaped pouch, hanging it around her waist.

Inside were her 5,000-yen allowance (roughly equivalent to 300 units), along with the house key.

"Lock the door before going out."

Only after making sure the door was properly locked did Jahy leave.

Walking down the street, Jahy felt a bit lost.

"I recall Masao goes to a place called Sobu High… but where exactly is that?"

She'd learned the name of Tanaka Masao's school yesterday, but she had no idea how to get there.

"Well, whatever. I'll just ask someone."

As the top school in Chiba Prefecture, Sobu High was practically known by everyone.

Combined with Jahy's cute appearance, passersby were more than happy to help her, eagerly pointing out the way.

...

The Tanaka residence wasn't very far from the school.

So even walking the whole way, Jahy didn't take very long.

Looking at the massive building in front of her, Jahy nodded.

"So this is the school… it really is different."

For some reason, after arriving at the school gate, she felt an urge not to go in and to leave as soon as possible.

As soon as the thought appeared, she shook her head and threw it out of her mind.

She'd come all this way—there was no way she wasn't going in.

Jahy strode forward with determination, and then…

Then she was stopped.

There were two things blocking her: one was the school gate itself, and the other was the security guard standing there.

"Little girl, what brings you here?"

Hearing that, Jahy put her hands on her hips and replied irritably.

"Don't call me little girl. Call me Lady Jahy."

The guard didn't get angry at all. Instead, he gave her a friendly smile.

Kids, after all, often want to grow up as fast as possible and hate being treated like children.

Understanding that, the guard chose to play along.

"Oh, so you're Jahy. Are you here to look for someone at the school?"

"That's right. I'm here to find Masao. Tanaka Masao."

The guard thought for a moment, but the name didn't ring a bell.

"He's a student here? Do you know which class he's in?"

"Which class…?"

Jahy pinched her chin and thought. She didn't know that either.

"Nope. But that's fine."

Jahy didn't look suspicious, and she was just a child—there was no way she could pose any danger to the students.

So the guard didn't make things difficult for her and let her in directly.

"Li—, uh, Jahy. Go on in. If you can't find him, you can ask at the teachers' office or the student council. They'll help you."

"Mm. I understand."

After entering the campus, Jahy didn't immediately go looking for Tanaka Masao. Instead, she decided to first observe the school environment.

...

Jahy had woken up fairly late that morning, and after breakfast she'd spent the entire time searching Masao's room.

Adding in the travel time from home to school, it was already noon.

Not long after Jahy arrived, she ran straight into lunch break.

Students poured out of their classrooms—some heading to the cafeteria or convenience store to buy lunch.

Others carried their own bento boxes, looking for shady spots or places with nice scenery to eat with friends.

And naturally, Jahy's sudden appearance on campus drew everyone's attention.

In order not to be mistaken for a creep, when faced with Jahy in her loli form—

Even if they found her extremely cute and adored her, no one dared to approach her directly. They only stole glances, thinking silently to themselves:

[If she were my little sister, I'd definitely treasure her and protect her.]

Compared to the boys' cautious restraint, the girls were much bolder.

"Look, look, that little girl—she's so cute!"

"Yeah! She's so tiny, she looks all soft. I really want to touch her."

"Is she a teacher's kid? Or someone's little sister?"

The petite and adorable Jahy instantly awakened the girls' maternal instincts.

A few of the braver girls had already gathered around her.

"Hey, little girl, who are you? Are you here looking for someone?"

"If you tell us their name, big sisters can help you out, you know."

The sudden crowd of girls didn't make Jahy nervous at all.

On the contrary, she felt completely at ease.

Back in the Demon Realm, no matter where Jahy went, she was always followed by hordes of followers and servants.

Naturally, she saw these girls as subordinates who had submitted to her charm, ready to be commanded.

[Oh my, oh my… my charm is still as powerful as ever. No matter where I go, I become the center of attention.

This is the proper reaction people should have upon seeing me. As for that guy Masao—he's definitely not normal.]

Besides that, Jahy noticed that the atmosphere of this school felt a bit different from what she'd imagined.

In her mind, a school should be a place heavy with tension, filled with oppression and dark vibes.

But the atmosphere she actually felt was relaxed, pleasant, and full of joy.

Jahy didn't dwell on it too much and decided to deal with it after finding Tanaka Masao.

She put her hands on her hips and declared proudly,

"My name is Jahy. I've come here to find Tanaka Masao. Do any of you know where he is?"

Jahy's smug, high-and-mighty attitude didn't annoy the girls around her at all—if anything, it only made her seem even cuter to them.

One girl couldn't resist and reached out with her wicked hand, pinching Jahy's cheeks.

"Wow, so cute! Your cheeks are so soft too."

The sudden attack caught Jahy completely off guard.

By the time she snapped back to her senses, it was already too late.

"That's not fair! You snuck a touch—let me try too!"
