The relatively short time he spent with Raiden Mei left Hua Yi feeling quite content. If the realization that he was in the Honkai world had initially brought him stress as a former ordinary person, his interaction with Mei finally brought him a sense of delight.

It was a different kind of joy than the one he felt upon obtaining a Stigmata or discovering he could gradually grow stronger; it was simply a pure happiness to have come to this world.

Of course, beyond enjoying the pleasant mood, Hua Yi didn't forget to observe Raiden Mei's condition. To be honest, he couldn't see anything out of the ordinary.

After all, the distance between him and Mei just now wasn't exactly short. Although he was no longer a normal human, Hua Yi who possessed only a pitiful Salina (T) wasn't yet capable of understanding the detailed conditions inside Mei's body like a precision instrument.

However, if any abnormalities were to appear in the future, Hua Yi felt he should be able to react in time. During the Third Honkai Impact, Raiden Mei would become a Herrscher, and the birth of a Herrscher required the environmental Honkai Energy to reach over 1,000 hw.

Such a drastic change in Honkai Energy would be enough to alert Hua Yi, allowing him to find a way to take Mei to the outskirts of Nagazora, far away from densely populated areas.

While he didn't have the power to directly stop the Honkai from descending, Hua Yi could at least attempt to mitigate the losses the Third Honkai Impact might cause.

Even if the Honkai continued to spread from the outskirts back into the city, the people of Nagazora would at least have some time to escape.

Having met those cute classmates at Tachikawa Academy and interacted with the friendly staff at the ME Corp branch, Hua Yi didn't want to stand by and watch them be swallowed by the Honkai and turned into Deadwalkers without taking any remedial measures.

This was the most Hua Yi could do. He hoped more people would survive than in the original timeline. As for himself, he needed to continue finding ways to increase his strength.

With only a level one, two-star Salina (T), let alone whether he could withstand the erosion of dense Honkai Energy while standing near Mei, he likely wouldn't even be able to handle the Deadwalkers and Honkai Beasts that would appear.

However

On the virtual interface that only Hua Yi could see, the Friendship Points column had changed from zero to twenty.

The Friendship Points had increased, perhaps because of his contact with Raiden Mei, or perhaps because their lives had intersected. Maybe the fact that he had established a somewhat friendly relationship with Mei a bit of so-called friendship was what triggered the increase.

Whether the amount would increase with intimacy and could be gained repeatedly over time, much like in a game, or if there were other principles for acquisition, Hua Yi was still unclear. However, the fact that Kiana and Bronya had not yet appeared at Chiba Academy was highly valuable information.

Hua Yi knew that during the Third Honkai Impact, Kiana, Raiden Mei, and Bronya were already relying on each other for survival, having met before the event. This meant there was still some time before the Third Honkai Impact arrived.

If his guess was correct, Kiana wouldn't be transferring to Chiba Academy halfway through this six-month semester. This meant the Third Honkai Impact would not descend for at least another half a year.

In half a year, even if he only gained twenty Friendship Points a day by contacting Raiden Mei, and even if a single Friendship Supply cost one hundred points while a Ten Consecutive Draws required exactly one thousand,

he should be able to save up over three thousand Friendship Points before the Honkai arrived. Furthermore, Hua Yi didn't believe that twenty points was the daily limit for acquisition.

That said, every time he thought about how he was racking his brains just to find ways to get Friendship Points for the Friendship Supply, Hua Yi felt like he didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Looking at the empty space next to the Coins column on the virtual interface, Hua Yi couldn't help but sigh.

"Crystals, oh Crystals, when will you finally appear?"

Ordinary students only needed to focus on their studies and could do as they pleased on the weekends, but Hua Yi's weekends were spent interning at ME Corp. In a way, he was quite busy.

In truth, Hua Yi wasn't short on living expenses. He had checked his bank card before; even without any further income, the balance was enough for him to live comfortably for a year.

The reason he persisted in reporting to ME Corp even after meeting Raiden Mei was to raise his internal rank and gain access to more classified data. He wanted to find the powerful weapons produced by ME Corp even finding a Titan and gaining control over it would suffice.

But when he realized the documents ME Corp gave him to organize today were essentially no different from yesterday's, he finally couldn't help but ask his supervisor a gallant and spirited career woman about the internal promotion process, pretending it was just a casual inquiry. The answer he received was quite disappointing.

"A promotion? You certainly have ambition, but you need a little patience. You're still just an intern, after all. Promotions and such won't take effect until you graduate and become a formal employee. There are requirements for work hours and performance, so just keep working hard~"

Hearing her answer, Hua Yi almost resigned on the spot. He didn't have time to play the role of an ordinary clerk and waste his energy in this branch of ME Corp.

Hua Yi had already decided that once he confirmed the company wouldn't let him handle any valuable data, he would immediately find an excuse to leave.

Although the ME Corp building full of mature, beautiful career women was attractive in its own way, the Honkai would be arriving soon, and Hua Yi had no interest in wasting his time here.

So far, other than knowing there was a weapons lab on the upper floors, Hua Yi hadn't gained much else from ME Corp.

The internship process at ME Corp was dull and tedious, but the task ahead was much more wonderful.

Evening was fast approaching; it was time to honor his promise and head to Chiba Academy to find Raiden Mei.
