The third gift was a strange looking very old scroll that radiated cold mist
"An old friend of mine helped create that for you. If you open it and chant the right words , a powerful familiar will be summoned and bound to you permanently."
The thought of a pet was infact very appealing to Riley so he hopped out of his mom's lap again and then repeated the words she said to him.
"Come forth and serve me. In spirit and flesh , be bound to my will."
Magic rushed out of the scroll and formed a 3 metre wide circular magic rune formation.
The runes glowed and pulsed for a few seconds before a portal formed at the centre and out of it floated a dark grey skinned lady who stood almost 3 meters tall.
Her skin had glowing red cracks and all her teeth were impossibly sharp , coming out of the sides of her head were two curved ram horns covered in glowing red cracks and infused with flowing molten lava.
And from her lower back was a thick dark red Variant of what Riley guessed was a Dragon's tail but with lava infused glowing hot bone for spines which went up her back as well.
"Huh...I didn't actually think you would get such a good one.
Maybe I should have chosen a different scroll to get rid of."
Riley turned and gave his mother a dead pan stare of disbelief before sighing and turning back to the familiar he had summoned.
The Summoning ritual was completed so everything returned to normal with the addition of the monster lady whose glowing red pupils followed Riley.
"Can you speak."
With a slight respectful bow , she responded in a surprisingly soft and beautiful voice.
"Yes , I can master."
Riley nodded in satisfaction and turned back to his mother with a barrage of questions.
"Mom , what is she and how am I going to keep her here. Again , don't you think its abit too early for this kind of responsibility."
It turned out his mom had already planned everything in the shadows like a true goth. Apparently , the creature Riley summoned was one of the more intelligent ones which meant it was powerful.
She could easily disguise herself as a human and as for her real race , Edith had said that she is a Demonic Inferno draugr.
The rest of the birthday was more or less tame in comparison as his mom brought out the small gifts she had gotten him then they watched a movie while eating more cake.
Morning found Riley in his bed feeling the sun's power flow into his body bit by bit , he could feel a considerable increase in the rate of absorbtion which meant he would now get stronger even faster.
'The future is looking real bright right now.' He thought with a smirk before reigning in his emotions like it was instinct.
Riley knew that to continue enjoying this life he was living , he needed strength. Though he was headed on the right path , he hadn't quite reached there yet so he still had alot to do.
He had already discussed with his mom what was next for them , his new familiar -Esme , as she was named- was going to stand in as his guardian which fit perfectly because after getting comfortable around her , both Riley and Edith had noticed that she called Riley master but acted like his big sister or something.
The summoning spell had automatically made her loyal to Riley but her behavior was apparently her own.
After about a week of showing her what was necessary and giving her everything she needed to maintain her cover , Edith claimed Esme was ready so she was now leaving.
It was ultimately uneventful as Riley just hugged his mom and patted her leg then walked back to the elevator and returned to the Penthouse.
The topic of studies had been shelved and Riley decided to skip the boring beginning and maybe think about joining later on when he became a teen , with his Master in computer engineering and software engineering , Riley was sure he was far ahead of even some university professors of this era.
Edith was more accepting of this probably because of her background , her family had been more myth , God's and tradition focused so she also hadn't gotten a formal education until much later.
This brought the question again of how old she really was but as usual , she patted Riley's head and smiling mysteriously , told him never to ask a woman her age.
So with Edith gone , Riley and Esme remained in the penthouse alone.
For Riley , this period had been the beginning of a substantial change in routine and his journey to God level power.
Firstly , Riley woke up every morning and after a shower , hot breakfast and everything else , he immediately headed to his personal castle to prepare himself and get used to it fully.
He had realized that his connection with the castle ran deeper than he initially thought , this thing was a very powerful artifact and probably even semi sentient.
So far , Riley could teleport into any part or area of the castle at will and , he was so deeply connected to the castle that he would feel any disturbance, intrusion and damage done to it. Ontop of that , he could find any room he required in the castle with a thought as he would be guided to it.
When he fully got control of the castle and got used to moving around in it , Riley finally started leaving the pent house very once in a while.
Since Edith had gotten Esme a car and driving license , then taught the Demon Draugr how to drive in one night , Riley could go anywhere he wanted anytime he chose to.
Sometimes Riley would go eat at restaurants with Esme or go to cinemas and basically just relax and enjoy his free time as much as possible , besides who else was going to use the millions his mom left him if he didnt.
