Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Vael stared at the classroom ceiling, half-listening to the lecture.

His mind was somewhere else.

How the hell my power actually work?

Right on cue—

A faint purple-gold glow flickered in his vision.

Desire Ledger Appears

A translucent screen formed in his mind.

Vael blinked.

"…so my power runs on emotions?"

Makes sense.

People feel something → he gets something.

He leaned back and flexed his hand.

"…still weak though."

Power cool and all, but his body?

Too soft.

Malik's old habits kicked in.

I gotta train.

Training Idea

He remembered gravity training from an anime back on Earth.

"…what if I increase weight on myself?"

He channeled mana.

A small gravity rune formed under his feet.

Pressure slammed onto his shoulders.

"…oh this nasty."

His legs trembled.

Good.

That meant progress.

Two minutes later—

Vael skimmed through textbooks, solving rune formulas and spell structures faster than expected.

Then he got bored.

"…yeah I'm skipping."

He stood and headed for the door.

The teacher turned.

"Where are you going?"

Vael faked a sick face.

"I ain't feeling good. Going to the nurse."

Teacher rolled her eyes.

"Sure. We got a test coming up. Be prepared."

Vael gave a thumbs up and walked out.

Hallway Encounter

He turned a corner—

A strong hand grabbed his wrist.

"Skipping class, Mr. Soryn?"

He looked up.

Miss Malia.

Centaur discipline committee member.

Tall. Built. Intimidating. Thick asf.

"…damn."

She frowned.

"This isn't funny."

Vael smirked.

"Wasn't laughing. Just admiring."

She blinked.

"…admiring what?"

"You. I mean goddamn… can I get your number or something?"

Her ears twitched.

Flustered.

Her grip loosened.

She tapped his crystal phone and added her contact.

Vael leaned slightly closer.

"You still gonna discipline me, or let me go and I'll talk to you later?"

She cleared her throat.

"…just go."

Vael slipped free.

"Appreciate you, love."

He walked off.

Behind him—

Her tail flicked in excitement.

Texting Lucien

Vael pulled out his crystal phone.

Vael: let's hit the mall

Lucien: skipping again?

Vael: obviously

Lucien: carriage coming

Vael whistled.

"…rich asf."

Memories surfaced.

Lucien's dad owned a manufacturing company.

Vael's mind clicked.

If I pitch ideas… I could make money.

He stored that thought.

For later.

The Mall

The carriage ride was smooth.

The mall glowed with magic lights, enchanted displays, and rune ads floating in the air.

They entered a clothing store.

Vael tried on outfits.

Every time he stepped out—

Employees stared.

Some whispered.

Some smiled too long.

Lucien folded his arms.

"Bro hurry up, damn."

Vael shrugged.

"Bro I'm trying get right. Damn jealous ass 'cause the girls looking."

He picked:

• Comfortable fitted clothes

• Clean dark tones

• A slick hoodie with good drip

Nothing flashy.

Just confident.

Lucien paid.

Vael nodded.

"I owe you."

Lucien smirked.

"You owe me that magazine."

Conversation Outside

Lucien finally asked,

"So… what was that in the fight?"

Vael shrugged.

"I gotta figure that out later."

"And what does 'thot' mean?"

Vael snickered.

"Just an abbreviation for that hoe over there."

Lucien burst out laughing.

"Ain't no way hahaha."

They laughed together.

The carriage dropped Vael home.

He stepped out, looking at the sky.

New world.

New power.

New hustle coming.

He smirked.

"…yeah, I'm finna run this life better."
