Chapter 7 - dramatically

One Week Later

Roger sat in his palace, waiting. Waiting for the arrival of the military, the Pentagon, and some members of Congress.

After five minutes, Sam entered. "Sir, all those you summoned are here now. They are waiting for you in the main hall."

Upon hearing Sam, Roger rose from his seat and headed to the main hall. The massive door automatically opened as he passed through and closed again behind him. Roger entered the hall and was greeted by a group of nearly twenty people.

All twenty individuals held the highest positions in the country.

Roger greeted them with a fake smile. "Welcome, everyone."

"Today, I have a special offer for you all. We all know that recently, superheroes have been spreading throughout the country, and none of them care about laws or regulations."

"The death rate—whether intentional or unintentional—has been continuously increasing due to superheroes, all under the guise of 'saving the world.'"

Roger continued, "Everyone here understands the dangers of Foot Company, and everyone here fears that one day, while sitting in my home, a superhero might burst in and slaughter me, and I wouldn't even have the power to resist or buy enough time for intervention or escape."

"Therefore, Al-Ain Company has developed a range of weapons that fight superheroes—they affect them, and in some cases, if used correctly, they can kill them!"

As soon as he finished speaking, an uproar filled the room. Everyone looked at each other in surprise.

If Al-Ain Company had indeed manufactured weapons of this level, none of them would hesitate to buy them. Everyone in the room was cautious in dealing with Foot Company and had no leverage or anything that could, even slightly, deter them.

The Vice President looked at Roger excitedly. "Mr. Roger, these weapons you're talking about—can they eliminate third-class heroes?"

In truth, everyone here was rational and experienced; they didn't raise their expectations to heroes like Homelander or Queen Maeve. It was enough for them to be able to protect themselves from the majority of heroes. Everyone understood that there was only one Homelander—not all superheroes were at the same level.

Roger looked at their faces, overflowing with curiosity and enthusiasm. "Yes, the weapons we've developed at Al-Ain Company are capable of deterrence, and if used by professionally trained soldiers, they can eliminate a group of superheroes."

As soon as he finished speaking, the people couldn't contain themselves. "Mr. Roger, don't keep us waiting like this—show us the weapons, and we're ready to pay whatever price satisfies you."

"Yes, Mr. Roger, show us the weapons. Everyone is excited to see their effectiveness."

The people looked at Roger, unable to contain their enthusiasm. If what Roger said was true, the balance of power would shift dramatically, and most of those loyal to Foot Company would be at risk.

Roger didn't continue speaking; instead, he gestured to Sam.

Sam looked at Roger and understood the signal. He pulled back the curtain to reveal a collection of weapons arranged symmetrically.

There were rifle-like weapons, weapons shaped like full-arm gauntlets, small containers filled with a purple liquid, sound-based weapons, and some bombs with effects more violent than modern explosives.

Next to each weapon was a screen displaying information and previous experiments conducted on both ordinary people and superheroes.

For example, the metallic hand weapon showed a screen where an ordinary person placed their hand on it, and it automatically adjusted its size to fit them perfectly.

The person approached a massive stone block and aimed his metal fist at it.

The moment the fist struck the stone, a shockwave erupted—the sound of the stone breaking, large cracks appearing until it completely shattered!

The person raised his metal hand and felt no pain—only slight numbness that didn't affect his combat effectiveness.

The people looked at the screen with obvious excitement. An ordinary person with no superpowers had managed to destroy a massive stone with ease.

On another screen, a purple liquid bullet was shown. The moment the bullet touched a superhero, it exploded against their chest. Upon contact with any part—even a drop or the metal that touched the purple liquid—the superhero's expression changed. Veins appeared on his face and chest, his complexion turned dark purple, and it seemed that in the next moment he would die from the purple liquid's effect—until someone approached and sprayed him with a green liquid. His facial appearance began to improve until he calmed down and the pain subsided.

The people looked at the screen, wondering what kind of virus or poison this purple vial was made from and what its full effect was.

Roger looked at them and explained, "This vial contains a substance that counteracts the source of the Fifth Compound's power. You could say it numbs and eats away at the cells connected to it, causing damage. A superhuman's cells absorb these fluids uncontrollably and at a rapid rate!"
