"That's Gust. And the power's impressive for mid-newborn level."
Clearly, this Pidgey's aptitude was indeed good-tier.
After finishing the demonstration, Pidgey flew back.
"Well done. That was excellent."
Encouragement was essential for a new partner.
Icarus handed it a piece of Bug-type meat.
Pidgey happily began pecking.
"Sprout?!"
Bellsprout stared in shock.

He patted Bellsprout reassuringly.
"The forest has more bugs than trees. There's plenty for both of you. And with Pidgey, hunting will be easier. I already have a plan for tomorrow. You'll eat your fill."

Satisfied, Bellsprout stopped complaining—but still glanced at the Bug meat in Pidgey's beak.
Pidgey noticed.

"Pidgey!"
It nudged the meat toward Bellsprout, offering to share.
Icarus couldn't help but sigh again.
League-raised Pokémon really were different.
"It's fine, Pidgey. Eat yours. Bellsprout, here's your portion."
"Sprout! Spri~!"
Delighted, Bellsprout grabbed its share and sat beside Pidgey. The two ate peacefully together.
Watching them, Icarus felt satisfied.
