Chapter 30 - Ch21. Cyanobear

Morning light filtered softly through the tent, casting a warm, golden glow across the campsite. Akshat stirred slowly, feeling the familiar weight pressed against him.

Blinking, he realized he was still tangled with Aavya. The faint warmth of her body pressed against his, her hair splayed across his chest. His heart hammered.

She stirred too, eyes fluttering open, and for a moment, they simply stared at each other, cheeks flaming, neither saying a word.

After a few tense, panicked seconds, they quietly untangled themselves, fumbling into their clothes. Every movement was awkward, every glance filled with silent embarrassment.

Stepping out of the tent, fully dressed, the early morning air felt crisp, almost cleansing. They didn't speak about the night before, but a faint warmth lingered between them, an unspoken understanding. Aavya's cheeks were still tinged with pink, but she met Akshat's eyes with a small, teasing smile. He smirked back—no words were needed.

By afternoon, the sun hung high over the campsite, casting dappled light across the forest floor. Students lounged near their tents, laughter and chatter mingling with the rustle of leaves.

Then a deep, resonant growl cut through the calm. Heads snapped toward the forest edge. Akshat's eyes widened.

A massive Cyanobear emerged from the trees, its shimmering blue fur gleaming like liquid sapphire. Its gaze locked on one of the female teachers, and with a thunderous roar, it charged.

Panic erupted. Students screamed, scattering in every direction, tripping over backpacks and one another.

Akshat didn't move from his spot. He saw the bear barreling toward the teacher, and instinct took over.

Without hesitation, he stepped forward, placing himself between the teacher and the rampaging beast. His heart pounded, adrenaline surging.

"Stay behind me!" he shouted, voice carrying over the chaos.

The Cyanobear skidded to a stop a few meters away, sniffing and growling. Its eyes—intelligent, almost feral—locked on Akshat. The raw power radiating from the beast pressed against him, and for a moment, the world narrowed to just the two of them.

He clenched his fists, every muscle coiled like a spring, ready to react. He would not let it hurt her.

The forest seemed to hold its breath. Around them, scattered students formed a rough circle, wide-eyed and frozen, watching a live clash of human and beast.

The bear lunged, claws raised like gleaming scythes. Akshat twisted aside at the last possible moment, the air whooshing past where its claws had just been. Without hesitation, he closed the distance. His arms snaked around the massive back, and with a grunt of effort, he hoisted it into the air, slamming it into the ground in a perfect suplex. The earth shook beneath the impact, and the bear roared in surprise and frustration.

He didn't relent. Hands gripping its ribcage, every muscle coiling with strength and precision, he lifted it again and hurled it into the forest floor with all his force. The Cyanobear rolled, stumbled, and scrambled to its feet.

For a heartbeat, silence hung. Then, with one last glance at Akshat, the blue beast bolted into the trees, melting back into the depths of Everheart Forest.

The students remained frozen, mouths open, eyes wide in disbelief. One freshman stumbled backward, clutching his chest. "Did… did he just… throw that thing?!" he stammered.

A girl near the edge whispered, trembling, "That was… impossible. No human can do that…"

Even the older students exchanged uneasy glances, some unsure whether to step closer or run.

Alexander's jaw was tight, his usual composure shaken. "Master… that was insane," he muttered, voice barely above a whisper.

Aavya, rarely one to show fear, pressed her hands to her mouth, eyes wide. A faint blush colored her cheeks—not embarrassment, but awe.

Akshat straightened, brushing his hands off, letting the silence linger a moment longer. "Relax. It's just… a Cyanobear. Something I haven't handled before," he muttered.

A chorus of gasps and stifled laughter rippled through the students, half fear, half admiration. Whispers spread like wildfire as they speculated about the strength Akshat truly possessed.

And in that moment, Akshat knew—they would never look at him, or the Everheart Forest, the same way again.
