In the morning alarms blare throughout the whole academy waking everyone up.
Leo jumps out of bed and throws his new school uniform on. "So I'm meant to be heading to the kitchen for breakfast and then to my first class beginning hand to hand combat. I remember doing hand to hand combat when I was young, hopefully it will be fun like back then." Loe daydreams.
Leo races to get food and head off to class with food still in his hands and mouth as he arrives into class exactly in time. His teacher clearly cross, yells at him "Leo you need to be sitting by the bell!"
"Yeah yeah I'll do better next time." Leo says brushing it off.
"Young man, if you want to be so confident why don't we step into the training room and I can put you in your place." Mr, Lemings says before storming off to put on his gear. " the rest of the class can watch as a demonstration of what we will be learning." He yells before entering the training room.
Leo heads straight into the training room with no change of gear.
"Are you serious? You need armour to defend against my attacks!" Mr, Lemings explained.
"I'll be fine, what can an old man do to me anyway." Leo says perfectly relaxed in the middle of the training room.
In anger Mr, Lemings' body grows in size and his dragon like claws strike at Leo with insain speed and precision that the first strike sent Leo to the other side of the room and a flurry of strikes followed landing on Leo's body after a few minutes Mr, Lemings laughs.
"I told you, your to respect me!" He yells at Leo.
Leo laughs as he reconnects his joints staring at Mr, Lemings.
"I'm impressed but those strikes where not enough painful yes dangerous no!" Leo says laughing before he lunges at Mr, Lemings immediately putting him into a choke hold and pinning him down stopping all movement and breathing in a blink of an eye.
"I thought I was going to struggle here but seams like I'm plenty strong enough." Leo says letting his teacher go to get his breath as he walks away with just a few bruises and scratches.
The remaining class stand watching in shock as they just saw a teacher who was easily a middle grade two warrior be beaten by a new kid at 16.
They all sit down at their desks and start revising over basic hand to hand techniques mainly punching, kicking, blocking, rolling and deflecting.
Leo bored decides to just stand up and walk out of class, his teacher tried to catch up to him but Leo had already been intercepted by the deputy principal Rose.
As Leo leaves class he runs into the lady from the other day. "Oh it's you again? How's class going?" She says with a smile.
"It's boring, what's the point if I can beat everyone in this school…" Leo says.
"You'd be surprised just because your a grade three warrior doesn't mean you can't be beaten by a grade two. If you want I can have a spare with you." She says with genuine confidence.
"Sure, why not." Leo follows her to her office where there is a training room in there too.
Leo enters as she equips all her gear. Once she comes in Leo looks at what now he recognises as the retired forest sage from the third dragon king's direct party. Leo instantly prepares for a fight, within an instant vines and leaves form around his opponent forming weapons for her to use, focusing on dodging Loe is only barely able to keep dodging. After a few minutes neither seam to be wearing down.
"You have a high stamina, impressive but can you out speed me!" She says before becoming a flash of light and instantly Leo is forced to the ground with a non fatal large wound bleeding out struggling to breath.
"Talent, gear, abilities and experience make up who and what you can beat outside of stats. If you can beat every teacher in this school I'll fight you again and if you beat me then I'll pull some strings so you can graduate after that." She says before letting the nurses take him to be healed.
After a short healing Leo is back in good health just a little tired, heading to his next class.
"I need to get to my next class… floor 2 room 8 magic studio. I've never used magic before mum said I'd learn in time so this will be new" Leo thinks as he heads off to his next class.
He arrives to his magic class with a few minutes to spare and takes a seat pulling out his notebooks eager to learn.
After a short wait… "hello everyone! I'll be your teacher for your magic class. You can call me Mrs Flint but you all might know me as the grade 2 elementalist mage." She explains to the class her colourful robes still flowing from walking into class.
She starts writing on the board…
"Using magic beginner lesson 1"
"1. Enhancing and growing mana capacity"
"2. Converting mana into a spell"
"3. Controlling spells through mana connection"
She turns to the class, "we will be working on these three things simultaneously till everyone here can make it to the next lesson, these are your basics and fundamentals so take note and slow growth is better growth. In my training room is a zone with a regeneration enchantment called a safe zone allowing for us to create battle fields to practice on without jeopardising safety. So we will start with making sure everyone knows a spell those who don't will need to stay with me and those who do will go into the training room and find a zone for sparing matches using magic only." She explains to the whole class.
Leo not knowing any spells stays with Mrs Flint.
Mrs Flint pulls a crystal ball infront of the class, "this will determine the best element for you to start with. You will need to learn how to use other elements but this first element will always be your strongest. Place your hand on the orb and watch the orb change."
She starts calling people from the class left with her, each person going up to the orb and given a spell scroll based on the orbs reading from the teacher.
Eventually… "Leo!" Mrs Flint yells out.
Leo wake up nervously and places his hand on the orb, the orb trembles before a glowing red light fills the room making everyone look away with how bright and Mrs Flint stepping back "how… no one has seen readings like this ever." She says in a slight panic.
Once the light dies down Leo looks to Mrs Flint and asks "what does that mean?" Tilting his head in confusion.
"The fire element is your specialty but your fire affinity is so high it would consume almost no mana to use fire spells. It's the sign of a prodigy but also it's been rarely studied I've never seen it till now so we have no clue how it comes about or it's full potential." She explains in detail before sighing "but… even with that you'll need to put a lot of work in to see even a sliver of that potential." She says looking Leo up and down.
Leo frowns his face before in a blink of an eye a stream of fire shimmering with gold fills the area after a short time the fire fades leaving Mrs Flint a few steps back but fine and Leo angry.
"I'm working hard and if you want to judge me then you can in the training room after we fight one on one." Leo says with a scowl on his face, walking to the training room without the spell scroll.
As Leo disappears, "That idiot, I'm a Master of all elements. Realistically what could he do?" Mrs Flint says as she brushes of some ash from her clothes. She continues doing the class.
Leo enters the training room, "geez it's huge!! Though the training zones are lame their just fenced in squares."
Leo looks around "may as well find a fight to watch, my mana is completely empty now after using my fire breath. Ugh I hate that when I get angry my fire breath just happens, it's happened since I was a kid." He walks over to a group of fire users they wheren't that efficient or strong but they had plenty of fire spells so maybe he could learn a few.
