Chapter 4 - Chapter 4- True Bloodline

Long Huang, seeing this, laughed crazily at this change. "Haha, haha! What Ordinary bloodline....!"

The transformation of his bloodline was something he never expected.

He was so happy that he began to dance. As he danced, he felt his robes were a bit tighter, and he noticed a change in his hair color, so he rushed to his mirror.

Looking in the mirror, his previously black hair turned a silvery gray, and his eyes now had a golden hue. He also noticed he had grown taller and his body had become more refined.

"My, my, well, hello, handsome."

Long Huang smirked, very satisfied with this transformation.

With such an appearance, he could easily live a good life as a boy toy for rich and powerful women, but then he remembered he had only 2 years left to live.

"What a mood killer,"

Long Huang mumbled. He then returned to his bed to continue cultivating.

As he sat cross-legged, his bloodline began engulfing spiritual energy once more. Long Huang then began to follow the flow that Huang Peng taught him. This time, the energy entered Long Huang's body, traveling along his meridians, and gradually transformed into Qi.

Hours passed, and night approached, the stars lighting up the night sky.

Long Huang slowly opened his eyes, a bit confused. He had broken through.

What took others weeks or even months to do, he did in less than two days. Feeling power coursing through his body, he got up and let out a punch.

"Ahh," screamed Long Huang as his hand wrung out in pain. The force of the fist.

"How...how is this possible!" said Long Huang through the pain, feeling that with just that one punch, he could easily break a wall.

It must be known that a normal cultivator, when reaching the Skin Tempering Realm, would only gain an increase of 300 pounds of strength with each sage.

Though with the additional strength of a bloodline, it was different, this drastic increase in strength was something he had never heard of.

Long Huang even recalled Huang Peng saying that he and the sect leader had only about 2000 pounds of strength when they broke through, even after pushing their strength to the peak of normal humans.

While he had only about 1000 pounds of strength before he broke through, it's now at least 5 times that. This difference was immense, like heaven and earth.

"I... I have a chance."

Thinking about the change his bloodline brought him, tears fell from Long Huang's eyes. There was hope of curing his disease and his revenge. His spirit reignited, and his goal seemed closer than ever, exciting him.

Without a second thought, he sat back on his bed, ready to continue; just as he began to re-fold his legs, an ancient voice echoed in his mind.

"Ancient Chaos Battle Dragon!"

Following this, a golden flame appeared in his mind, revealing a creature with features only found in myths: a true dragon with four limbs, each adorned with 5 golden claws.

Its body, a mix of golden scales and a dark grey underbelly, was adorned with four black horns on its head, with what seemed to be sentient tendrils or whiskers near its mouth, and trees growing upon its massive body.

The dragon had coiled itself and hovered within the flames as it slowly opened its eyes and gazed at him.

It emitted an aura of benevolent holiness, but hidden deep within this heavenly aura was an ominous aura of utter savagery, chaos, and domineering tyranny. It made him feel the urge to bow and worship it.

Looking at the dragon, Long Huang couldn't help but think, 'A real dragon! So cool.'

"What! How is this possible? A human hmm... no, not quite."

"Little mortal."

Each word the dragon spoke boomed like thunder, giving Long Huang an unbearable headache.

A scream struggled to escape his lips.

Just as the pain began to subside, the dragon opened its mouth to speak again. Seeing this, Long Huang shouted, ignoring the pain.

"Shut up, you idiot! Your voice is going to kill me!"

"Mortal, just whom is it you call an idiot?" the dragon asked with a mocking tone.

Long Huang still couldn't believe what was happening, as something that had been a myth in both his past and present life stood right in front of him.

"Just my luck, time is already running out."

"Human, it's beyond me how you ended up with my bloodline, but you should be grateful." The dragon said smugly.

"I leave to you my legacy. Don't bring shame to my bloodline," the dragon continued.

Before Long Huang could respond, the scene of his room reappeared in his vision, accompanied by a headache ten times worse than before. A stream of information flowed into his mind.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"

After nearly 3 hours, his headache calmed, and Long Huang was even more shocked than when his bloodline transformed his body.

If his previous transformation was physical, he now underwent one of knowledge. He gained an understanding of the essential skills and knowledge required for the different professions in the world.

Along with this, he acquired a cultivation technique unique to his bloodline and a dragon tower that he could unlock at the Qi Condensing Realm.

"Chaos Battle Dragon Breathing Technique," he whispered, the contents of the technique shocking him to the core.

Body and Qi cultivation were fundamentally different. Regular cultivators usually used Qi, and body cultivators used Battle Energy.

But his cultivation technique was different; what he cultivated was not ordinary Qi and Battle energy but Chaos Battle Dragon energy, which was an extreme mix of the two, along with dragon energy.

Because his bloodline carried the essence of Chaos Battle Dragon energy, his bloodline constitution consumed his vitality in place of Qi to sustain it and slowly change his body.

This was the true source of his so-called disease. His disease was not a curse placed upon him, but something his own weakness caused.

'So the source of my despair and grief was me and not fate. How laughable. No, it's not my or anyone's fault; I was born human.' He exhaled slowly, the realization settling into his bones.

To cure his disease, he actually needed to reach the Qi Converging Realm before turning 16; only by undergoing the thunder tribulation would his bloodline and constitution be compatible with his body.

Just his bloodline alone gave him an additional 8,000 pounds of strength. And once he reached the Qi Converging Realm, he would unlock his constitution and gain an increase of 10,000 pounds of strength. Which was heaven-defying; such strength wasn't something a human body could handle without sufficient cultivation.

For comparison, those with Ordinary bloodlines get an additional 100-125 pounds in strength, while those with Wild bloodlines get 150-175, and Variant bloodlines get 200-250 pounds.

Earth bloodlines were cut above the low-tier bloodlines and gained 450-700, Heaven bloodlines about 850-1000, and Emperor bloodlines 1200-3000.

But he didn't gain much knowledge about them, only their names, as if such things were insignificant in the dragon's mind to leave to his successor.

These grades were the Divine grade, the Celestial grade, and, finally, the Ancient grade. And his bloodline was one of the strongest Ancient grade bloodline. With all this at his disposal, he could easily live a nice, comfortable life after fixing his body's condition.

With that, Long Huang sat down and began cultivating.

With his bloodline and technique working together, he reforged his foundation bit by bit.

As he cultivated, he unknowingly drew almost half of the flowing spiritual energy from the entire city. Cultivators across Blossom City were startled from their cultivation, sensing an invisible tide pulling the spirit energy.

Long Huang remained unaware, his consciousness submerged in the deep rhythm of cultivation, and night slowly passed, and morning came.

The sun slowly rose. The rays of sunlight filtered through the trees on the western mountain, shining on Long Huang's house.

He had just finished his cultivation when he heard a slight sizzling sound beneath his skin.

"Hehe"

"4th stage Skin Tempering Realm!"

Long Huang smiled. He then turned and saw sunlight creeping slowly through his blinds.

"Morning already? Damn, I didn't even get to sleep." Long Huang said to himself as he walked to the stream near his tiny modern house to take a morning bath. Long Huang sighed, thinking of his little senior sister as he glanced at his home.

"Huang Min has been pestering me to make one for her as well. I've been putting it off for too long."

And as if on cue, he heard someone calling his name.

"Hey! Long Huang, are you home?"

"Your senior sister is getting tired of waiting!"

He chuckled and shouted back, "I'm taking a bath!"

"Do you want to join?"

"Who wants to join you, you stinky?" she replied, her cheeks flushing bright pink.

"Alright, just give me a moment."

Long Huang responded as he quickly wrapped himself in a loose cloth, acting as a towel, and stepped out to the front of his house.

"What is it you want, Huang Min? It's so early in the morning."

Long Huang grumbled as he shook his wet, silver-gray hair.

"What do you want?" Long Huang said, sounding a bit annoyed.

Meanwhile, Huang Min was too stunned by Long Huang's change; it was too great for her to process. Seeing her reaction, Long Huang couldn't help but laugh at this senior sister.

"Shocked, huh?"

"Yes," Huang Min replied instinctively.

"So was I! I'm so handsome I could live off just my looks alone," Long Huang boasted.

"Sure, so back to the point. I came to cheer you up after what happened the other day."

"What are you talking about?" he asked, slightly confused about what could have made him need cheering up.

"Losing to that idiot Chi Wei," Huang Min replied.

"Oh, that," he instantly understood.

"No need. I'm doing alright, as you can see."

"Are you sure? Then why did you change so much overnight? You're like a completely different person," Huang Min said. Curiously inspecting Long Huang with her eyes.

"I... I might have awakened a special constitution," he replied, scratching his head. Huang Min was even more curious upon hearing this.

"What constitution is it? Tell me quickly!" she urged, gripping Long Huang's shoulders and shaking him.

"Fine, fine, fine! I'll tell you. It's called the Ancient Battle Body, but it's still sealed," he said, lying through his teeth.

"Never heard of it, but it sure sounds powerful. Well, at least now no one can look down on you for your bloodline."

"Well, actually, can you keep it a secret for me, please?"

"Hmm, if you beg me sincerely, I might consider it," Huang Min replied smugly.
