"Meet me at the hideout . Arthur has something very important to tell us over"
"I'll inform agent Lucas , this is Skywalker L over and out "
Kierran let's out a sigh and turns his head to face Arthur
" Alright Arthur they are on their way "
Arthur faces Kierran with a very worried expression on his face
"Good , we don't have much time ..."
Kierran is in utter confusion as he does not know what is going on with Arthur or what he has to say to them
"Before what ?"
Arthur just sits there completely silent before answering
"You'll know once Layla and Lucas arrive ..."
(One hour later)
{14 hours until the collapse}
The door to the hideout in the hills of the old village suddenly open only for Layla and Lucas to find Arthur and Kierran completely quiet
Arthur just sits there motionless with all the worries of the world on his little commoner shoulders , with the world moving closer and closer to its demise . The children, women , families , the poor , the rich , the strong , the weak all at the collapse's mercy
" Listen everyone ..."
Layla and Lucas all sit down on the floor where a soft mat is put and pay maximum attention towards what Arthur is about to say while Kierran is sitting ontop of a beanbag ready to listen
The hideout is covered with leaves from the oldest tree in the village , it's appearance is not as appealing as the village houses ...infact it might have been ten times worse , the roof is almost completely full of rust and holes , while the walls look like they are about to collapse and full of cracks , dust and misery
" I know what I'm about to say may sound crazy but please believe me ..."
Arthur's voice carries desperation , tiredness ontop of it all misery and fear of the unknown
Layla's expression changes from worried to now reassuring and understanding almost like how a mother would react if her child was in danger
" It's okay Art , you can trust me ...us I mean you can trust us . What's wrong ?"
Layla asks with genuine concern about the well-being of Arthur ...perhaps even something else
Arthur smiles a little at layla's words as he now tries to tell them about what's to come
" Thanks Layla but what I am about say say is disturbing , crazy some may say it's insane but ...( He pauses a little before continuing) we only have 13 hours until something bad happens "
Layla scoots over towards Arthur and places her hand ontop of his and giving it a genuine squeeze before nodding
Arthur takes a deep breath and exhales before continuing
"It's called the collapse and I don't know what it is but it involves everyone on this earth ... Buildings will be destroyed , blood will be stilled everywhere , people dying cruel deaths and then there is our families ...it seems there is a connection "
Layla notices the slight pain in his words and in his eyes before he regains his composure and gives Arthur a hug
" It's okay Art . I'm here and I will never leave your side , that I promise I'll follow you till the very end because ..."
Suddenly the ground shakes violently signalling the beginning of the collapse
" What was that ? " Lucas asks
"It's almost here "arthur replies
" Alright lovebirds and third wheel so what's next in the agenda , how are we supposed to stop a planetary level threat ?" Kierran asks
Arthur sighs heavily before responding
" There is nothing we can do to stop it but we can prepare for it "
Kierran looks around the almost collapsed hideout as the shaking subsides
"I have an idea , but first we need to gather food supplies , water , some weapons , some wood ,a drill and a few screws "
