Chapter 2 - Summoning a Savior

After that, she killed people the same way she did with Mark. For six years, she claimed a total of 143 lives, and if not for the scandal that exposed her, she might have continued indefinitely.

Now, caught at last, she walked toward the electric chair, her calm smile untouched, as if she were simply attending a meeting. But then—without warning—a brilliant magical circle ignited beneath her feet, light spiraling and coiling around her like living fire. Before she could react, it swallowed her whole.

When she opened her eyes, she was somewhere entirely unfamiliar. She stood at the center of a grand hall, surrounded by the royal families of every kingdom, their jeweled robes shimmering under the high chandeliers, and the five Tower Mages, their eyes glowing faintly with arcane power.

She blinked rapidly, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings. She wore a simple white nightgown, and her hands were still cuffed—an executioner's restraint that no longer seemed relevant here.

"Where am I?" she asked, her angelic voice echoing clearly through the vast hall, reverberating off the marble floors and gilded walls.

The people in the hall were mesmerized by her beauty. Now that she wore only a see-through white nightgown, the men were swallowing hard, unable to tear their eyes away. Suddenly, a prince of the Elves strode forward and draped his expensive coat over her shoulders, shielding her from their stares.

"Welcome, our savior. We've been waiting for your arrival." he said, offering his hand with a polite bow. "I am Fenir, one of the heroes of this continent. Please, lend us your hand and help us save humanity."

Lily simply stared at him, her expression unreadable. "What is this? A prank before I die?" Her tone was sharp, cold—completely unlike the soft, angelic voice she had used moments ago.

"Ah… that…" Fenir faltered, clearly not expecting such a reaction.

An old mage stepped forward, his robes flowing like liquid silver. "Fenir, bring her to her room and explain everything to her. She may be suffering from the aftereffects of dimensional travel." he said gently, his voice calm yet commanding.

"I understand." Fenir replied immediately, extending his hand once more toward Lily.

Her hand was still cuffed—but as soon as she touched it, the handcuff shattered into pieces, as if it were nothing more than fragile plastic.

A faint, bright smile curved Lily's lips. She didn't know what world this was, but one thing was certain: she would never be bored here.

Once her handcuff was gone, she reached out and took Fenir's hand, following him obediently, her eyes glimmering with a mix of curiosity and excitement.

On their way to her room:

"What's your name, Savior?" Fenir asked curiously, his long, pointed ears twitching slightly.

"I'm Lily." she replied. Then, glancing at him again, she finally noticed his ears. "What? You have… long ears?"

Fenir chuckled softly. "I guess elves aren't common in your world, Lady Lily. I'm of the Elven race."

"Can I touch them?" she asked, her curiosity shining. It was the first time she had ever seen ears like that.

"T-Touch them?!" Fenir exclaimed, his face flushing as red as a tomato.

"Why? Is there a problem?" she asked gently, blinking slowly, her tone soft and innocent—after all, she was a talented actress.

"N-No… It's just that… touching our ears is a traditional way of asking for marriage..." Fenir explained, still embarrassed. "It's the same for the beastmen. If you ask to touch their ears or tail, that means you're offering marriage."

"Ohh… Are you married?" she asked casually, tilting her head.

"Ah, yes." Fenir replied. "I'm engaged to the princess of this kingdom."

"Engaged, huh… congratulations." she said nonchalantly, her voice smooth and casual, as if it were nothing more than small talk.

After walking for a while, they finally reached a huge door.

"This will be your room, Lady Lily." Fenir said as he pushed it open. Inside, the space was filled with luxury—soft carpets, shimmering curtains, and elegant furniture, all decorated in a style befitting royalty.

They sat down on the couch inside the room.

"I will now explain the situation—why you are here." Fenir said, a hint of seriousness in his tone.

"This is the Artica Continent. Fifty years ago, a human mage who reached the Ninth Circle challenged the authority of the three Gods and Goddesses of this world. He managed to kill the weakest among them, enraging the remaining two. After that, they withdrew their blessings from this continent and placed a curse on everyone born here. From that moment on, no one was capable of using healing magic.

Ten years ago, a Demon King suddenly emerged and ordered his subordinates to conquer the Artica Continent. In desperation, the council mages performed a forbidden summoning technique. It allows us to summon, only once, a person from another world who possesses the talent for healing magic.

That person is you, Lady Lily."

"So… you're saying you kidnapped me and now want to make me work as your slave to save a world that has nothing to do with me. Am I right?" Lily's tone was cold, her words unfiltered. In that moment, she fully understood her position in this world.

Fenir stiffened. He had never considered it that way. He had never imagined their savior would see things from such a perspective.

"T-That… I… we didn't mean that, Lady Lily…"

Seeing his reaction, Lily relaxed and smiled brightly. "I was just joking, Fenir. You sound so serious." she said with a light chuckle. "Of course, I'll do everything I can to help my fellow people."

Fenir's gaze brightened instantly. He thanked her sincerely before leaving the room.

The door closed behind him.

Lily smiled to herself.

"Hahahaha… this isn't bad at all. Magic, huh? That sounds interesting…"

Then—

DING! DING!! DING!!!

A translucent screen suddenly appeared in front of her.

CORRUPT SYSTEM SYNCHRONIZATION: 100%

A second later, a message popped up.

"Congratulations, Player! You have been selected by the God of Mischief as his chosen vessel. You are now granted the CORRUPT SYSTEM."

Then another message followed, glowing ominously.

"A message from your God:

Do the tasks, and you will never be bored, my child."
