Amanda was wide awake, listening to Melissa's soft, steady breathing. Her sister seemed completely asleep.
Carefully, she slipped out from beneath the covers, still dressed in the clothes she had worn during the day.
She would have used some perfume, but Melissa was rather sensitive to strong scents, so Amanda settled for chewing a mint instead. She slipped on her sandals, then quietly stepped out of the room.
The hotel lobby was almost completely silent. It was well past midnight, and being off-season this hotel wasn't accomodating manyguests either.
Amanda made her way toward the elevator, unable to suppress her excitement at the thought of meeting the person she had been thinking about all day.
It had only been two days since they had parted ways, yet she was acting as though they were reuniting after years apart.

She pressed the elevator button and waited. The elevator was currently on the ground floor, its indicator slowly climbing toward her floor.
