Kyle rushed toward her house. He couldn't hear much, but the way she had been weeping on the call was enough to make him panic.
He has barely heard her cry like this…as if something was broken, like she was hurt.
The last time he heard her like this was when she came to his house to see him. And that's exactly what made his heart heavy and feet hurried.
"Trying to marry her off to someone else…" he repeated, a growl slipping from his throat.
What was going through their mind? In this modern era, who marries off their daughter when she is only twenty one? And why were they forcing her like this? As far as Kyle knew, they were very understanding and always considered her feelings first.
Then what suddenly changed…
The Maylith mansion was quite far, yet in his current state, the thought of taking a taxi or train never even crossed his mind.
His feet carried him forward, closing the distance.
