"So you really are some supervillain Lord of Hell?"
"So you're the Underground Emperor who controls Hell's Kitchen?"
"So you're the one who made the Federal Government order the eradication of Hell's Kitchen?"
Strange's eyes widened, his voice filled with disbelief, as if he were questioning an impossible fact.
Seeing Chen Ye nod, Strange took a moment to compose himself before slowly sitting down, seemingly laughing at the shocking news.
He looked at Chen Ye, his heart filled with a complex mix of emotions.
He had assumed Chen Ye's life was going poorly, never imagining that he had already become the overlord of the underground world, even causing the Federal Government to fear him.
Strange recalled his own struggles over the past few years. He had worked day and night, finally becoming a renowned neurosurgeon and acquiring luxury cars and a grand house.
He had thought he had achieved a great deal, but compared to Chen Ye, it all seemed so insignificant.
"Hell's Kitchen..." Strange muttered to himself. He had heard of the place, knowing it as the center of the underground world, controlling all the gang factions across America.
He had even heard the saying: "Whether America's underground world is in chaos or not depends on Hell's Kitchen."
He imagined Chen Ye sitting on the throne of Hell's Kitchen, surrounded by a loyal retinue, with luxury cars, mansions, and beautiful women at his beck and call.
Meanwhile, he himself was still working hard just to make a living. The sheer disparity between their lives was almost too much to bear.
*So I'm the clown here? I'm the one who's a loser!*
*I've lost to Chen Ye again. Damn it!*
*How did Chen Ye even pull this off?*
"What are you thinking, exactly? Why not leave? That's the Federal Government we're talking about! No matter how powerful you are, can you really be stronger than the state? Are you planning to go there to die?" Strange urged Chen Ye.
Initially, upon confirming that Chen Ye was the Lord of Hell, Strange had been a bit afraid. After all, this was a major villain. It was only because Strange trusted that Chen Ye hadn't changed—that he was still the same person from their college days—that he felt safe.
He also believed Chen Ye wouldn't hurt him, so he started worrying for Chen Ye's sake.
"Don't worry. Trust me, trust Hell's Kitchen," Chen Ye said to Strange with a smile.
His eyes were filled with confidence, as if everything was under his control.
"So, you're the one who came to take me away?" Chen Ye asked.
Hearing the question, Strange poured himself a glass of water and said with a haughty air, "I'm here to collect your body."
"You're just an ordinary human," Strange continued, his tone tinged with dissatisfaction and reproach. "Now that you've become the Lord of Hell, you've really started taking yourself too seriously. Hurry up and leave with me."
In his eyes, what Chen Ye was doing now was far too dangerous; a single misstep could cost him his life.
Just as he finished speaking, Deadpool, now in his battle suit, approached and threw an arm around Strange's shoulders. "Bro, I respect you. You're just as loyal as I am."
"Let me tell you," Deadpool continued, his eyes filled with helplessness and complaint, "if it weren't for Chen Ye, I'd have been out on a date with a beautiful woman long ago. Who would want to stay in this dump?"
Strange shook Deadpool off in disgust, pointed at Chen Ye, and questioned, "Is this the kind of friend you've made over the last few years? You're really going downhill. He's dressed like a clown. Does he really think he's a superhero? Red and black... his taste is terrible."
He truly couldn't understand why Chen Ye would know someone like this.
Strange's words displeased Deadpool, who began chattering incessantly beside him.
Seeing this, Chen Ye could only use Chaos Magic to seal Deadpool's mouth and quiet him down. He then said seriously to Strange, "You are my friend, and they are my friends too. Stop talking like that."
Strange rolled his eyes and looked at Chen Ye in exasperation. Of course, he took Chen Ye's words to heart, but who would want to be friends with such a weirdo?
"Wade, Strange doesn't mean any harm. He's always been like this. Once you get to know him, you'll realize he's a friend worth having," Chen Ye explained to Deadpool. After all, the current Strange had not yet experienced his car accident or trained at Kamar-Taj.
Right now, he was still that arrogant genius who looked down on everyone. Then again, Strange did have the right to be arrogant; otherwise, the Sorcerer Supreme wouldn't have taken an interest in him.
If Chen Ye hadn't shown his own strength during their college years, Strange would never have become his friend.
*It seems Strange still needs to go through that car accident,* Chen Ye thought. *Otherwise, he'll never get rid of his bad habit of looking down on everyone.*
"Strange, I'm not leaving," Chen Ye replied earnestly, his gaze steady and profound. "Hell's Kitchen is my home. My family and friends are here, as are the residents who need my protection."
"Besides, it's too late to leave now," Chen Ye added, pointing to the clock on the wall.
Strange looked up. Sure enough, there was less than a minute before the Federal Government's assault on Hell's Kitchen.
*Damn it,* he thought. *Not only did I fail to get Chen Ye out, but I might have just thrown my own life away.*
*My mansion! My luxury cars! My life! My Keli!*
Strange glared at Chen Ye with a look of utter despair.
As if sensing Strange's anxiety, Chen Ye patted his shoulder. His voice was calm, yet carried an undeniable air of authority. "Don't worry. On my turf, no one can hurt you."
"Just stay put in this restaurant," Chen Ye instructed. "Even if the Earth explodes, this place will be fine."
After all, the System had established his home base on the ground floor of the Good Luck Restaurant. The ground floor was a separate dimension created by the Space Stone—no weapon on Earth could possibly damage it.
"And Peter and Harry will stay here. They'll keep you safe," Chen Ye added, pointing to the two as he addressed Strange.
"Them?" Strange asked, his gaze sweeping over the two boys—one dressed like a spider-monster and the other in a green-and-orange combat suit. Of course, Chen Ye had warned him against mocking them, so Strange kept his comments to himself.
Peter and Harry shot Chen Ye resentful glances. It was clear they'd much rather be fighting by his side than stuck inside the restaurant.
"You're our last line of defense," Chen Ye assured them, trying to soothe their disappointment. "This restaurant is incredibly important to me. I'm counting on you." With that, he turned and walked out with Deadpool and Pietro.
"Where are you going?" Strange asked. "If this place is as safe as you say, why leave?"
Chen Ye stopped but didn't turn back. "Well," he said softly, "so many guests have come all this way to visit Hell's Kitchen. As its host, I have to give them a proper welcome."
