Chapter 57 - Everyone Learns About the Multiverse

Chen Ye frowned as he looked at the reward, his heart filled with confusion and dissatisfaction.

This damn randomness had given him a skill he didn't need at all—Invisibility.

To him, this ability was completely useless. What was it for—peeping on others?

Chen Ye shook his head, trying to throw that thought out of his mind.

He didn't consider himself a particularly upright person, but he certainly wouldn't stoop to something that low.

Besides, if he really wanted to see something, his Observation Haki alone was enough to perceive everything.

What he truly wanted was Spider-Sense. That way, he could pretend to be Spider-Man and enter the Spider-Verse to meet a whole bunch of Spider-Men.

Before long, Chen Ye brought Miles back to the restaurant.

By now, the outside of Lucky Restaurant was already surrounded by Kingpin's bodyguards. Each of them wore serious expressions, as if facing a great enemy.

Bullseye was among them, standing right at the entrance, guarding the door tightly and preventing anyone from getting close.

The moment Bullseye saw Chen Ye, a look of relief appeared on his face. He seemed both helpless and a little embarrassed—like a trapped child who had finally seen a savior.

Seeing his expression, Chen Ye teased,

"What, are you being punished? Standing guard at the door like security?"

The remark clearly struck a nerve. Bullseye stepped forward, grabbed Chen Ye's shoulder, and said emotionally,

"Brother, I've had it rough. The boss assigned me to another battlefield. I was planning to complete the mission perfectly—didn't even ask for any reward. But that damn Madame Gao pulled a diversion."

"If anything had happened to the boss's wife, you wouldn't be seeing me today!"

"Later, you've got to help me put in a good word, alright?"

Chen Ye reassured him,

"Alright, alright, stop complaining. If Uncle Kingpin really wanted to punish you, you'd already be a corpse. Come in with me."

Then he turned and said to the person behind him,

"Miles, follow me."

Miles nodded and quietly followed.

Only then did Bullseye notice the young Black Spider—Miles. His pupils shrank in shock. He pointed at Miles, then looked at Chen Ye.

"Brother, don't you hate—"

"He's just a kid. He hasn't done anything wrong. Besides, he's useful," Chen Ye interrupted calmly, giving Bullseye a glance.

Chen Ye did dislike certain people, but he wasn't the kind of person who blindly hated everyone.

What he despised were those who chose to degenerate and act recklessly—not innocent minors like Miles.

There were many orphaned kids in Hell's Kitchen, and Chen Ye still took them in. But if any of them committed crimes, then in his eyes there was no distinction between minor or major offenses—only death.

Chen Ye didn't hate everyone. For example, a certain late basketball superstar was someone he deeply admired.

Moreover, the young Spider here was a unique existence across the entire multiverse—he had to be kept.

Of course, if the kid turned disobedient later, Chen Ye wouldn't hesitate to act.

The three of them passed through the ring of bodyguards and entered the restaurant.

Bullseye looked at Chen Ye with gratitude and trust.

He knew Chen Ye would speak up for him.

Inside the restaurant, Kingpin sat alone on the sofa, smoking a cigar in deep thought.

Wanda was gently comforting Vanessa, who still looked shaken. She softly patted the girl's back, trying to calm her fear.

On the other side, Pietro was focused on playing video games with Richard.

After all, children were easily distracted—games quickly made them forget their fear.

The moment Chen Ye and the others entered, all eyes turned toward them.

Wanda immediately walked up to Chen Ye, concern written all over her face.

"You're not hurt, are you? What happened? I heard there's another 'Uncle Kingpin'? What is this multiverse?"

Although Kingpin didn't speak, his gaze clearly demanded answers.

He sat upright on the sofa, hands clasped in front of him, staring intently at Chen Ye.

Seeing so many questions thrown at him, Chen Ye felt a headache coming on.

He then pulled Miles forward from behind and introduced him to the group under everyone's astonished gaze.

"This is Spider-Man from the same parallel universe as that other Kingpin—Miles. Let him explain everything."

With so many eyes on him, Miles felt awkward and nervous.

Especially when he saw another Kingpin identical to the one he knew—that familiar face stunned him for a moment.

Chen Ye gently patted his shoulder, signaling him to relax.

Miles took a deep breath, steadying himself.

Then he began explaining this unbelievable truth to everyone.

Half an hour later, the group finally processed everything Miles had said.

The story was so shocking it felt like a door to another world had been opened.

"So there really are parallel universes? Does that mean there are many versions of me too?"

Pietro asked curiously, his eyes full of fascination.

Meanwhile, Kingpin gazed at his wife and child with deep emotion, his heart filled with complicated feelings.

Thinking about what had happened to Vanessa in that other universe made him uneasy.

He could understand his counterpart's actions completely.

If it had been him, he might have made the same choice.

But now, that plan had been ruined—by this young Spider.

A surge of anger rose within him as he stared at Miles.

"Kid… do you know who killed my wife and child in that other universe?"

Kingpin's deep voice carried both threat and killing intent.

If it had been this Miles, he wouldn't hesitate to avenge his alternate self.

Miles was frightened by the sudden pressure.

"Uncle Kingpin, don't scare the kid. It wasn't him. It was an accident," Chen Ye stepped in.

He understood Kingpin's anger and pain, but he also knew this wasn't Miles's fault.

Hearing this, Kingpin took a deep breath and withdrew his killing intent.

His expression turned complicated as he looked at Chen Ye, clearly expecting more.

Seeing that Kingpin wouldn't let it go, Chen Ye sighed helplessly and told a partial truth:

"That Kingpin told me his wife and child died in a car accident."

As for the real reason—that they died while fleeing during a battle between Kingpin and Peter Parker—Chen Ye had no intention of revealing it.

When he said this, the doubt in Kingpin's eyes deepened. He could tell Chen Ye was holding something back.

Meanwhile, Miles looked at Chen Ye in confusion.

He had been there—why didn't he remember Kingpin saying that?

Chen Ye quickly turned to Pietro.

"Pietro, go to my room, get the key, and take this kid upstairs."

Pietro wanted to refuse at first, but after seeing the looks from Chen Ye and Wanda, he reluctantly agreed.

He knew better than to argue right now.

As he left, he muttered under his breath,

"My sister could've taken him too…"

But no one paid him any attention.
