Charles and Erik sat in a car, waiting for a red light.
Looking at the bustling crowd on the street, Charles sighed, "I can feel all their thoughts, their desires, their ideals, and their ambitions. Erik, we're doing something incredible! We can help them?"
"Really?"
Erik was skeptical.
The shadows of his childhood in the concentration camps made him unable to trust others, especially American politicians. In his eyes, these people were no different in essence from the Germans of the past, only better at disguising themselves.
Looking at Charles beside him, Erik said meaningfully, "Verifying identities is only the first step. After that, it's concentration, testing, and elimination. Those politicians aren't trustworthy. The reason I stayed is because of you."

Charles fell silent. He could sense the CIA agents' rejection and fear of Mutants.
Some people considered them to be different, and some extremists even wanted to capture them for experiments or to destroy them to eliminate future troubles.
Charles didn't want to talk about these things too much. He could only do his best to change others' views and allow humans and Mutants to live in peace.
Erik didn't agree with Charles's point of view. He believed that if anyone attacked Mutants, they should retaliate and let them know the consequences.
Charles couldn't persuade Erik, and Erik couldn't persuade Charles either.
Seeing the atmosphere becoming tense, Charles changed the subject, "We'll talk about the future later. We're almost there."
Erik didn't bring up the sensitive topic again, instead asking, "Is this Sea King very strong?"
Charles nodded, "He's a multi-powered individual, with Telepathy, can control marine life, and his strength and speed are beyond ordinary people. He should be even stronger than Logan, who we encountered before."
Speaking of Logan, Erik was a little annoyed, "That lone wolf's temper is awful. If you hadn't stopped me back then, I would have taught him a lesson."
"I didn't stop you back then." Charles chuckled.
Then, he stepped on the gas, drove across the street, and stopped in front of the café opposite the New York Sanctum.
"Here."
Han Shaoqing, who was drinking coffee with Artoria Pendragon, saw Charles and Erik enter the café and waved hello.
"Charles Xavier, currently working for the CIA."
"Erik Lehnsherr, it's a pleasure to meet you."
Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr both seemed friendly and introduced themselves first.
"Han Shaoqing, also known as Sea King. I'm also very happy to meet fellow Mutants here."

Then, Han Shaoqing introduced Artoria Pendragon beside him: "This is Artoria Pendragon, you can also call her King Arthur. She's a good friend of mine."

If he had been invited to S.H.I.E.L.D. first, and his ability was exposed, they might have already labeled him as a "suicide by gunshot to the back" on the same day.
"Reading minds?!"
Hearing this, Artoria seemed to feel something. If she had possessed this ability back then, perhaps the ending would have been vastly different.
Erik said, "People are uneasy about things they don't understand. They prefer things they can control. It's the same for things and for us."
"The human heart is difficult to fathom, full of suspicion and change, which is why the world is so colorful and diverse. Other people's opinions don't matter; just be yourself. We don't live for others. When you're a person, happiness is the most important thing."
Han Shaoqing seemed more casual and free-spirited, and this was also his true feeling.
