Chapter 99 - Chapter 100: I Am a Ki Mage

"Don't mind them. What's your name? Are you here to join the guild?"

Mirajane waved a hand dismissively, completely unfazed. Her guild had always been like this—bursting with "vitality." Plus, since Erza was currently away on a mission, the members were even more uninhibited than usual.

"I'm Lucy! Can I really join?"

Lucy Heartfilia's eyes shimmered with anticipation. She had run away from home specifically to join Fairy Tail, the guild she had dreamed about since she was a little girl. To her, this was the moment she would finally become a true mage.

"You were brought in by Natsu, so of course you can," Mira nodded warmly. She then gestured toward Goku. "He's a newcomer too. His name is Son Goku. Once the Master gets here, I'll process your memberships together..."

Before she could finish her sentence, a massive man—standing at least two meters tall—was kicked across the room, flying straight toward Mira like a cannonball.

Goku moved instantly.

He leaped into the air, spinning with practiced grace, and delivered a swift kick to the man's midsection, sending the human projectile flying right back into the crowd. Because he'd used a bit too much force, the man crashed into several others, toppling them like bowling pins.

"Hey, the new kid's got some moves! Watch your back!"

The mages who had been flattened by the flying man scrambled to their feet. Seeing that Goku, despite being a young boy, possessed impressive strength, they immediately dragged him into the chaos.

Goku, for his part, was absolutely delighted.

He loved fighting. He had been watching them brawl with an itchy fist, barely managing to hold himself back to be polite. Now that they had invited him, he wasn't going to refuse.

"I'm coming in!"

Goku caught the foot of a mage attempting a flying kick, spun the man around, and hurled him back at another mage who was winding up a punch. Then, like a hurricane, he charged into the thick of the free-for-all.

He noticed that everyone was fighting with raw strength and grappling rather than casting spells, so Goku followed suit. He suppressed his ki, his Breathing techniques, and his Hogwarts magic. He relied purely on his physical reflexes and the martial arts foundation Grandpa Gohan had taught him.

However, even without his supernatural buffs, Goku's body was incredibly durable, and his combat intuition was on another level entirely.

Within minutes, the tide of the brawl shifted.

"A real man should... ow!"

"Hahaha! I'm the strongest in the gui—oof!"

"Whoa, this kid is fast!"

"He's strong as an ox!"

A few minutes later, amidst a sea of broken tables and overturned chairs, Goku was the only one left standing, a wide, satisfied grin on his face.

"So strong!"

Lucy stood by the bar, her jaw dropping. Fairy Tail was renowned across the kingdom as one of the strongest guilds in history. Most of these mages would be considered elite experts in any other city. Yet here they were, laid out by a child who looked like he had just finished a morning jog. Even though they hadn't used magic, it was a staggering display of raw martial prowess.

"That was great! Again!"

Mages possessed physical constitutions far beyond that of normal humans. Despite being knocked down, they recovered almost instantly. Their excitement reached a fever pitch. No longer satisfied with simple fisticuffs, they began to tap into their magical reserves.

Fists ignited with roaring flames; ice lances materialized in mid-air; one man's arms transformed into solid iron, while another fanned out a deck of glowing magical cards. The atmospheric pressure inside the guild hall spiked as magical energy began to swirl and crackle.

Goku's heart hammered against his ribs in excitement. He thought to himself that even if he couldn't fight the Master right away, being able to scrap with these people every day would be a fantastic way to train.

"STOP THIS AT ONCE, YOU FOOLS!"

A thunderous roar shook the rafters. From the second-floor balcony, a tiny, elderly figure leaped into the air.

As he descended, the figure expanded rapidly. Within seconds, a ten-meter-tall giant loomed over the hall, his shadow engulfing everyone. The mages froze in their tracks, their spells flickering out in terror. Even Natsu, the most reckless of the bunch, was pinned under the giant's massive foot, nearly passing out from the weight.

"What incredible ki!"

Goku sensed the giant's life force. It was immense—vast and deep, radiating a power that dwarfed anything he had felt from the Twelve Kizuki or even Muzan Kibutsuji.

This is a true master. "Master, you're back," Mira said with a cheerful wave.

Goku's eyes widened. So, this giant was Makarov Dreyar, the Guild Master and one of the Ten Wizard Saints he had been told about.

"Hmph. Are you two the newcomers? Not bad."

Makarov deactivated his Giant Magic, shrinking instantly until he was a full head shorter than even Goku. The little old man hopped up onto the second-floor railing and looked down at them. He had watched the entire brawl from above; he was quite impressed with Goku's skill and felt the boy's spirited nature was a perfect fit for the "Fairy Tail family."

Makarov pulled out a thick stack of papers. "You idiots have caused trouble again! The Magic Council sent another pile of complaints this morning! You're making me look bad!"

The mages bowed their heads in shame. But then, Makarov's stern face broke into a wide, mischievous grin. He let out a boisterous laugh. "But so what? Let those Council geezers eat dirt!"

A ball of fire erupted from his palm, incinerating the complaints before he tossed them into the air—where Natsu promptly leaped up and ate the flames.

"Listen up! Magic is not some miracle. It is the fusion of the power within our bodies and the power of nature, given form by our spirit and will. Do not fear those in high positions. Only by walking your own path with unwavering conviction can you truly master your magic. That is what it means to be a Fairy Tail mage!"

"FAIRY TAIL!" the guild roared in unison, hands raised high with the signature guild gesture.

Goku stood silent, his mind racing. He was carefully dissecting Makarov's words about the nature of magic. So, magic here is a mix of internal energy and nature... kind of like how I use my ki with Breathing styles. He realized the magic of this world was fundamentally different from the "formulaic" spells of Hogwarts.

Half an hour later, the hall was somewhat tidied up. Mirajane approached Goku with a registration form.

"Goku, I need to write down what kind of magic you use."

"What kind?" Goku paused. Grandpa Dumbledore had taught him hundreds of spells. Should he list them all?

"Just your primary type," Mira explained. "Like Natsu uses Fire Dragon Slayer Magic, Gray uses Ice-Make Magic, and Elfman uses Take Over Magic."

In this world, most mages specialized in one or two branches. Makarov specialized in Giant and Light magic, though he knew others. Natsu and Gray focused solely on their elemental paths.

Goku thought about it for a moment. He used Hogwarts spells, but he powered them with his ki. He used Breathing styles, but they were fueled by ki. Everything came back to the energy in his center.

"Then mine is Ki Magic," Goku said firmly.
