Chapter 4 - Meeting the first demon

"Simon! SIMON!" I could hear my mother's voice shouting at me in the rubble

The pole impaling me straight through the heart was burning, it was painful.

And the everything faded.

I was in a black space and as my current self, looking forward, I saw my past self with a hole in his chest and literally crying blood.

He was saying something but I couldn't make it out and he disappeared as well.

---------------------------------------

I suddenly woke up covered in sweat and tears pouring out of my eyes.

"Why am I covered in sweat. Why am I cryi- where am I?" I surveyed the neatly furnished room and took notice of the comfy bed I was in but what really sold it was the walls and floor made of ice and the incredibly strong blizzard outside the window.

"Am I in Guy's frost palace?" I murmured to myself.

"Misery was right, you are quite smart." Came an unexpected female from the side.

"Ahhh!" I was visibly startled by the voice, I turned my head to find a guest sitting on a couch on the opposite side of the room from me.

The childlike women had snow white hair held back by a golden headband and blue eyes.

Although she looked like a child, I knew better. I spoke with scrutinizing look, "Velzard, I presume?"

After I said that, she got up and walked into a portal before giving me some parting words, "Guy is waiting for you."

I just stared at where she disappeared and spoke to no one but myself with ample amounts of sass, "Yeah, I figured… the question is 'why'?"

I walked out the room with a blanket draped around me. I wasn't cold, I just felt more comfortable with something covering me, even if I still had my clothes on.

"Are you gonna keep that on?" Came a monotone voice.

"Ahhhh! CAN YOU STOP DOING THAT?!!?"

I screamed at Misery.

"Doing what? And don't scream at me." She said with a bit more coldness.

"Sorry. It just that that dragon also startled me when I woke up." I said while looking around at the icy architecture.

"Follow me, Guy is waiting for you." She turned around and walked away, expecting me to follow, which I did. We entered a room with two tables, one was in the middle of the room with two chairs with one of those chairs occupied by the red head. The other table was by the wall with a glacial couch, in that couch was the fallen angel Dino, laying in his own arms.

Misery walked to the right of the doorway, parallel to her on the other side was her blue-haired twin, Rain, in which she just looked at me with a smile and waved.

I looked to Guy and spoke nonchalantly, "I can only guess that you want me to sit down but if you, can I keep the blanket?"

Guy looked amused by my informal way of speaking, "I have no problem with it, and please take a seat." He said while gesturing towards the seat opposite him.

I practically skipped over like it was my home and took a seat, 'Weird, I don't feel fear in the slightest.'

Guy looked at me with scrutiny, "You no, this isn't your home right."

"Yeah, I don't know why I'm doing it either." I looked at him with slight confusion and got personally closer. "Why AM I not afraid of you?"

I got back in my seat and asked the question I wanted an answer too, "Anyways, would it be unfair to ask why I'm here?"

Guy seemed ready to deliver this explaination, "No, it's not. The reason why you are here is because you risk the balance of the world."

"I assume it's because I've terraformed that island?"

"No, it's because you've shown you can do something on that scale that you're here. I don't think you realize the incredible feat you've done as only an enlightened."

I started to speak in a more serious tone, "No, I'm very aware of what I did. Someone would at least have to be a true hero or true demon lord to accomplish what I have done."

Guy's tone became slightly teasing, "Good then, we're in agreement."

"…"

"Why do I get the feeling that I'm not going anywhere?" I asked slightly worried.

"Well, I think you know the answer to that now, don't you."

I dropped my head sulking, "Awww, come on!!!"

Guy waited for my tantrum to be over before speaking, "Are you done feeling throwing a tantrum?"

" No but I sense you have something important to say" I said with aggrieved eyes staring at Guy.

"Under the condition that you will only be able to roam this palace and that island, I will be your personal teacher."

...…

...

Everyone's gaze followed Guy's figure with shook, even Velzard had appeared looking like she had gotten a shook to her system and Dino, the lazy angel, looked like a completely new man. The two other primordial demons and me had extremely wide eyes, difference is that their eyes were filled with shook and mine with anticipation.

All this while Guy simply smiled

I spoke with stars in my eyes, "Are…you…serious???"

"Why not? There don't seem like the boring type and it's rare for someone to knowingly be surrounded by higher beings, yet show not an inkling of fear." He spoke with sincerity.

Suddenly Misery's voice beamed from behind me, "I apologise for interjecting but brother, are you sure this is the best cours-"

I interjected, "Misery, if you don't object to this then I promise to get Dino off his ass and actually start doing something."

"…"

Misery suddenly spoke with a complete 180 shift in personality, "Brother, you are truly a genius for taking this human in as a apprentice."

Dino: "why am I getting dragged into this!?"

Guy held his hand out, "So, what do you say?"

I turned back to him, took his hand a shook it with glee, "I graciously accept!"

And from that day forward, I became the student of the very first demon and the very first demon lord.

Dino: "Hey! DON'T IGNORE ME!!!!"
