Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Delinquent Girl Mirajane

**Chapter 4: Delinquent Girl Mirajane**

Soon after, Kaito finished filling out his information, and Guild Master Makarov stamped the Fairy Tail guild mark on the back of his left hand.

"Alright, stinky brat! You're now a member of Fairy Tail. Welcome to Fairy Tail."

"That's the request board over there. It has all the jobs you can accept. The second floor belongs to S-Class Mages and contains more dangerous and higher-paying missions, but only if you become an S-Class Mage of Fairy Tail."

"S-Class Mage?" Kaito naturally knew what S-Class Mages represented in Fairy Tail. Every S-Class Mage was the guild's ace, far stronger than regular mages.

Becoming an S-Class Mage would be effortless with the top-tier, nearly invincible Logia-type Glint-Glint Fruit. He had been the strongest village bully back home, and the strongest meeting the strongest meant he wouldn't be any weaker than Admiral Kizaru of the Marines. S-Class Mages must be extremely popular with girls. In the future he would have beauties on both arms. The corners of Kaito's mouth curled upward.

Makarov saw the expression on Kaito's face and knew exactly what the brat was thinking. "Hmph! Stinky kid, don't think becoming an S-Class Mage is that easy. Right now the guild only has one S-Class Mage."

Kaito showed a look of disdain. "Tch! So weak!"

Makarov got angry at that attitude and roared at Kaito, "Stinky brat! I'm telling you that becoming an S-Class Mage is extremely difficult!"

"So you're saying the guild's current strength isn't weak?" Kaito pointed around at the group of kids eating, drinking, and messing around.

"Uh... Well, you could say that!" Makarov's eyes drifted upward.

When he had taken over Fairy Tail, there were only a handful of members and it had nearly become a bottom-tier guild. After years of development the ranking had improved, but it was still far from the truly powerful magic guilds.

Kaito waved his hand. "Doesn't matter! With me here, becoming the strongest guild is only a matter of time."

Suddenly, a slightly childish girl's voice rang out, "Strongest?! The new kid is pretty arrogant! What's your name?"

Kaito turned his head and saw a girl with long silver hair tied with a purple butterfly bow that had a small skull ornament. She was dressed like a total delinquent.

She was squatting on a table looking down at him. Kaito was momentarily stunned.

Beside her, a boy wearing a blue suit who looked quiet and gentle but was quite large pulled on the girl's arm and whispered, "Sister, don't bully the newcomer!"

Another very cute girl said, "Sister, the Guild Master is here. Don't stand on the table."

All three had the same silver hair. After a moment, Kaito recognized them: the delinquent-looking girl was Mirajane, the bigger boy was Elfman, and the cute little girl was Lisanna.

Sure enough, they were very different from their future selves. The great beauty of the future hadn't developed at all yet—she was completely flat. Sigh! Kaito couldn't help shaking his head. He had crossed over too early.

Although Mirajane didn't know why Kaito was sighing, she felt somehow offended and shouted rudely at him, "What are you looking at?! Stinky brat! I asked you a question and you still haven't answered!"

"Before asking someone's name, you should introduce yourself first, right?" Kaito replied in the same aggressive tone. He had been the king of the kids in the village, the school bully during his school days, and the village tyrant after growing up.

His life motto was: "Better to bully the world than let the world bully me."

On his first day in the Fairy Tail guild, he was being treated like an easy target. No chance. Since he had joined Fairy Tail, he was going to become the "guild tyrant."

Mirajane was stunned that the new kid dared talk back to her like that. She had dominated the children's group in Fairy Tail for a long time—except for Erza, everyone else had been beaten by her.

A mere newcomer daring to speak to her this way felt like the most serious challenge to her authority.

"Wanna fight?"

"Fight?" Kaito's eyes lit up. He truly loved fighting. He had once joined a martial arts school, but within a few weeks he had beaten the instructor unconscious.

Then the other instructors came, and he beat them too. All the martial arts teachers came at him one after another like the Calabash Brothers trying to save their grandfather, but he wiped them all out single-handedly. In the end the school expelled him.

When he was expelled, Kaito complained that the school had false advertising—the martial arts teachers were too weak. So he switched to another school… and beat all the teachers there as well, getting expelled again.

After being blacklisted by several martial arts schools, he had no choice but to attend a normal school and try to live as an ordinary person.

Still, he had gained something from it: he had mastered all eighteen types of martial arts. Any technique or weapon, he could learn by watching once and master after practicing a few times.

His last martial arts teacher had sighed that Kaito was born in the wrong era. If it were ancient times, he would have been a fierce general even stronger than Lü Bu, someone destined to be recorded in history.

After growing up and understanding more, he fought less. There had been some delinquents at school, but after he beat them up, they all started studying seriously. He later heard one of them even got into Tsinghua. Fate really was unpredictable.

Now, hearing the word "fight," he couldn't help recalling those youthful days.

Mirajane grinned ferociously. "Yes! Whoever loses has to say their name first, then bark like a dog in front of everyone."

Kaito put on a hesitant expression. "Uh... Isn't that bad? A girl barking like a dog in front of so many people—you won't be able to get married in the future. Are you that interested in me?"

Mirajane was furious. She had never met someone whose words were so infuriating. She roared at Kaito, "Who wants to get married?! The loser will definitely be you! Only a ghost would be interested in you!"

"Impossible! I've never lost a fight since I was a kid." Kaito waved his hand with absolute confidence.

"Then I'll make you taste defeat for the first time."

Makarov timely interjected from the side, "If you're going to fight, take it outside. No fighting inside the guild."

"Let's go! To the back! I'm definitely going to beat you up good today!"

Kaito said with a serious face, "Don't worry! I'll go easy on you since you're a girl."

"Aaaaaah! You're really pissing me off!" Mirajane grabbed her hair in rage.
