A week passed without incident, but then one night, as our main character and his team were getting ready for bed…
"Huh? What's that?" Lio said as a small bright light appeared.
"I don't know, but it's growing brighter and bigger," Mr. Sato said.
But Aerin could feel that this unexpected light was a alive in some way…
Hang on, guys, and be careful, that light is alive, and I can't sense anything from it.
The light continued to grow bigger and brighter until you couldn't see anything besides light…
"Ouch, my eyes," Lyra said, covering her eyes.
Somehow, even covering your eyes doesn't help, it's like the light this thing is emitting isn't normal light.
Then, all of a sudden, the light disappeared just as fast as it appeared…
I don't know what that light was, all I know is it was alive. I could feel it.
"What do you think it was?" Mr. Sato asked.
I don't know, but it seemed familiar.
"How so?" Lio asked, confused.
It seemed like it was always here, just not always visible.
Then our main character and his team continued to get ready for bed, and eventually everyone fell asleep…
Hours passed, and around midnight…
"Aerin," a voice said.
Hmm?
"Wake up, my child," a voice said.
It was Léōn…
Hello Léōn, why did you wake me up?
"It seems one of my angels has taken a liking to you," Léōn replied.
Huh? What does that have to do with anything?
"Do you remember that bright light that you saw earlier?" Léōn asked.
Yes.
"That was one of my angels," Léōn added.
But why would they appear, and why is that angel here?
"It's better if I explain it to you, come walk with me, child," Léōn said as he began to walk.
Aerin then got up and followed him…
"In the creation of this world, we didn't create a sun or a moon. So there would be no day or night like in other worlds, but there still needed to be a cycle of light and darkness so things could sleep. Thus I assigned one of my angels to light up this world during the day and then slowly reduce the light they emitted till night," Léōn explained.
Uh, okay.
So, a few questions.
What is a sun and a moon?
What is a angel exactly?
What is beyond this world?
And last but not least, who are you?
"Hahaha, that's a lot of questions, child, but I will answer them for you," Léōn said, amused by the curiosity of the child in front of him.
"A sun is a star, a source of heat and light for worlds. Without a star, planets would freeze and life would die under normal circumstances. A moon is essentially a small planet that orbits another, and they can have a variety of effects on planets, from changing the way tides behave in oceans to protecting the planet they orbit from asteroids," Léōn said.
"Still following?" Léōn asked.
Huh? Yeah, kinda.
"Haha, I know it's hard to understand because you have never hear of these words before, but you will understand in the future. Anyway, I'll continue. Angels are my first creations, there are different types of angels that serve different purposes. Some are meant to worship, some are meant to follow orders, and some are meant to wage war. Essentially, you could think of them as a very powerful legion of assassins that serve me alone," Léōn said wile walking back to the camp with Aerin.
"Now for your last two questions. What is beyond this world? Well there is a lot beyond this world, but I guess you are asking where you will go when you leave this world, well…you will go to a world called earth. Who am I? WellI know you've already figured it out, but let me just affirm it for you. Yes I am God," Léōn said as him and Aerin returned back to the camp.
Léōn, one more thing. What did you mean by when I leave this world?
Did you say that because I'm going to leave here one day, or…?
Then Aerin turned around, and Léōn was gone, just as quickly as he appeared, he disappeared…
I don't know why I'm not used to that already. He comes and goes as he pleases. I should really be used to him just disappearing, but nope.
Anyway, it's going to be dawn soon. I should really get some rest while I can.
To be continued…
