Chapter 20 - Time with Arthur

Hey, old man, do you mind teaching me the rest of those abilities you said you would today?

"Sure, Aerin. I would love to. Let's head to the training grounds," Arthur said.

Then they both went to Arthur's private training grounds…

What are you going to teach me today, old man?

"I was thinking eternal flames," Arthur said.

That sounds cool. What is it?

"It's fire that can't be extinguished by conventional means because it's actually not truly fire but rather plasma that is fueled by Nature Aru. In other words, all you need to do is ignite someone with it, and it will keep burning even if they try to extinguish it with water, foam, wind, or any other conventional methods," Arthur explained.

That's awesome.

How do I use this ability?

"Well, picture a glowing storm of charged particles, constantly colliding, sparking, and emitting light," Arthur explained.

Ok, I'll try it out.

Then Aerin sat down on the ground and began to concentrate on what Arthur had told him to picture…

Minutes became hours, hours became all day, day became night. But then, as soon as dawn came…

I got it. I made eternal flames.

Aerin began to jump around with joy as Arthur congratulated him on his success…

"Awesome job, Aerin. You worked hard," Arthur said with a smile on his face.

Then the duo went home to get some rest over the weekend…

Afternoon came…

Arthur, I'm kinda hungry. Do we have anything to eat?

"Yes, I just finished cooking your chicken noodle soup," Arthur said as he brought a bowl of chicken noodle soup over to Aerin.

Awsome! Thank you, old man.

"My pleasure," Arthur replied.

Hey, Arthur.

"What is it, child?" Arthur asked.

Are you scared of anything?

"Why would I be scared of the created when there is a creator," Arthur replied.

What do you mean?

"If you and I and everything that exists is created, how powerful do you think the one who created it is?" Arthur asked.

Well, I don't know.

"Incomprehensibly, that's how. This world is already so vast and has many powerful beings. Something that created all of it must be incomprehensible and all knowing," Arthur said.

"Remember this, Aerin. Do not fear what is created—fear the Creator. For your soul, and the very existence of all that was and will be, is His alone," Arthur said as he reclined in his chair.

Ok, old man. I'll remember that.

To be continued…
